ALIEN Series References

Quick Jump : T.V. | Movies | Music | Books | Games | Other...

This section is a list of all the ALIEN series references in pop-culture that i've been able to collect over the years. If you have any more, please email me with the details. Thanks to everyone for all their help in creating this list. For some references there is just a link to the Internet Movie Database, because the given movie has referenced the Alien series in some way.

 TV References
3rd Rock From the Sun (1998)
    * Thanks to 'An Alien Fan' for watching this great show! : In one episode, (of the show about aliens in human clothing), Harry gets a job at a video store. When one customer asks where he can find 'ALIENS', Harry starts to back off and nervously insists that aren't any there at all.

    Alf
    * In one episode they were trying to get rid of a huge cockroach that came out of Alf's ship and grew bigger and bigger. At one point Willie wants to call an exterminator but Kate says something like: "We don't need an exterminator, we need Sigourney Weaver." [Thanks Luka!]
    * This episode is about Thanksgiving where a homeless is watching Alf through a window and talking to the FBI (I think, I can't remember the details) on the phone. The man from the FBI is warning the homeless :"Be careful, he might jump into your mouth and burst through your chest." [Thanks to Bojan from Yugoslavia]

    All My Children
    * As an ashamed St Just exclaims: From ALL MY CHILDREN, the soap opera with Susan Lucci, The character of Greenly, the seductive sex pot, is talking to Leo, the newly introduced male bimbo, and says this, "Well you're just oozing with charisma, like that green goo in the Alien movies." This was the December 20th, 1999 episode.

    Ally McBeal (1998)
    * Thanks to Chestburster for nabbing this one! : Ally was at a hospital visiting a guy that she likes when Ling, a client of her law firm and portrayed as heartless and cold, walks in. When Ally sees her, Ally pictures Ling in her mind as transforming into an Alien or maybe an Queen Alien creature. Also, the scene was really quick and Ally quickly snaps out of it.
As St Just mentions: The body was of a drone Alien, but the head was that of a Queen Alien. It was very fast and very freaky.

    Anamaniacs
"An Alien Fan" sent me the following tidbit :
    * (Show # 15, "Space Probed") The Warners get abducted, Dotty finds herself in a black wet room, with chains hanging down, with an Alien in it (exactly like Bretts death scene in Alien). When the Alien extends its innermouth, Dotty says "Want to see my pet?", and takes a giant devil looking dog, which also has an innermouth, out of her pocket. First they screech at each other, like they're gonna fight, then little hearts fly around thier heads and they walk out hand in hand.
Dotty : "I hope I'm invited to the wedding."
    Kdawg remined me of these:
    * They [the Warners :) ] were in a weird spaceland, and came across an alien in a dark room. The Alien extended it jaws, Then Janet Reno came out and extended her jaws (lol) then the alien ran off making dog wimpering sounds.
    * They were at a table with actors , and actresses, they walked up to Sigourney Weaver, and commented on her hair (bald) then she said well look at my friend, and it showed an alien.
So everyone watch Anamaniacs! Its a great cartoon. :)
    * Newborn0 says that there's another Animaniacs appearance of our Xenomorphic pals, or rather Pinky & The Brain (it may have appeared in an episode of Animaniacs before though). Pinky and the Brain are at a Hollywood outdoor cafe, and in the background can be seen Sigourney Weaver dining with her nemesis. I don't recall much of it, but at one point I seem to recall somebody storms off and knocks over Weaver's table, sending the Alien to the ground.

    Angel
    * Moviemutt reports: In the episode entitled "Harm's Way", there is an Alien reference. The episode opens as one of those company employee videos and one of the big evil corporate clients that Wolfram and Hart handles is none other than Weyland-Yutani.

    Batman Beyond
    * Episode "Splicers", when Batman enters the basement lab and sees all the odd creations, one of the creatures (in profile) in a tube looks remarkably like a facehugger.

    Beasties Transformers (Beast Wars)
    * Will sends this along: There is an episode of Beasties Transformers(or Beast Wars) called Low Road (epidsode #22, season 1) where "Rhinox comes out and starts firing at the Preds. Tarantulus in the meanwhile sneaks out from behind a rock and fires an Energon sucking bug which affixes itself to Rhinox. " (Courtesy of Axalon: Underground-http://beasties.gagames.com/). The bug looks a lot like a face hugger, latches itself to Rhinox's face and looks like its feeding something through his throat, much like the facehugger feeding a host air or eggs and such. You have to see it to really be surprised. [Thanks Will!]

    Beavis and Butthead
    * The Face Hugger made a rather nasty appearane on 'Beavis and Butthead.'

    * This one is courtesy of Skeeter : I found this next ref in BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD'S ENSUCKLOPEDIA, of all places...the ALIEN makes an appearance in the Anatomy section as a "Ferbical Nad Clobule." There's a neat little drawing of the Alien.

    Beyond 2000 (94-95?)
    * This show is based in Australia. :) They had one segment of a show devoted to the 'ALIEN WAR' interactive ride that was in London for a while. They went inside, showed the light-activated guns, the sets, and some of the vintage ALIEN props there. I have this on tape if anyone has any questions....It was a cool clip, and is repeated every so often on the Discovery channel (In Canada.) Visit Harry Harris's Site to take a look at many picutres from the 'ALIEN WAR' interactive ride.

    Big Bite (Australian tv show)
    * Big Bite is a sketch show. Once it had a sketch of a woman dressed up like Ripley, walking around a colony stocking up with guns. She picks up a Desert Eagle, then an M4 and something else. In the background you can here the computer voice say "You now have T-minus 30 seconds...." Anyway, she finishes arming herself, and then she falls over backwards with all the weight. [Thanks to StrifE for the contribution!]

    Blossom
    * Bjorn sent this in : There was a spoof in the series called "BLOSSOM" where the whole family is acting in a very bad home video. Blossom's father plays Bishop and her freind Six plays Ripley (in a sort of Karate-fashion, quite amusing). Her father gives birth to an ALien, crudely shaped out of an oven glove, he's also spitting milk...

    Brother's Keeper
    * From Android (thanks!) : The two brothers were on a camping trip in an RV. They are on their way out, and a lady, I don't know her name, who is on the show comes out and is complaining about their noise and says something like "Hey, it's like in Alien, and I'm Ripley. If any hideous, noisy monster invades MY personal space, I'll shoot them outta this damn car." Or something like that.. sorry not exact...

    Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    * Did I mention that Buffy was created by ALIEN 4 writer Joss Whedon? Anyway, It involved Buffy having an EGG (a small one though)... that HATCHED....and a small Alien-esque-facehugger-like creature DOVE out of towards buffy's FACE. It crawled around like the facehugger in ALIENS....and it even sorta looked like it. (but small.) Quite the originality, eh? :)

    Captain Planet
    * Thanks to Koopzilla2000! In an episode Captain Planet (a kid's show with goodies vs baddies about the environment) There were giant bugs running a-muck because they grew in pesticide, a scientist found a way to kill them by getting wasp eggs implanted in their chests and then the wasps burst out. Then one of the good guys, named Wheeler goes "Cool! Just like in Alien!"

    Cartoon Planet
    * This is a show on the Cartoon Network. Lonekatz sent me the reference info:
Brak : Eh? What'd you say? Are you an android? Do you bleed milk? Yea, I saw that movie
Space Ghost (moans) : I'm not feeling so good...
Brak : Is an alien gonna pop outa his stomach? Cause I wanna be REAL far when that happens
Zorak : I admire its purity...

    Celebrity Deathmatch (1998)
    * Thanks to Hicks for this great one! :) :
In one episode (just shown) Celine Dionne turn into a weird alien. After kicking Mark Hamill's ass Nick Diamond (one of the hosts) challenges te alien to a fight and as I remember he called the alien a 'no-good xenomorphic freak'

    Chicago Hope
    * [Luka saw this great one!] The character played by Christine Lahti asks a patient how he feels. He has chest pains and says Do you remember that scene in Alien(s)? She then smiles and I think she says Yes, but I'm not sure.

    Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers
    * 'An Alien Fan' gets the Disney Channel, and it came in handy! He reports: In this episode a shapeshifting space-alien changes himself to look like Dale then kicks the real Dale out(into space). Toward the end just as Dale finds his way home the fake Dale is found sitting down to watch TV with the other Rescue Rangers. What's on the TV alien with striking resemblenece to a xenomorph. It realizes an innermoth, which also releases an innermouth, wich does the same, until there are at least six mouths in all. When the last one pops out it just misses (a Ripley rip-off). To the surprise of the real Rescue Rangers the alien Dale starts to laugh and says "I love comedies!"

    Clarissa Explains All
    * Another beaut from Boldguy: Within the rather crap kid's comedy, Clarissa Explains It All, when Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa) and Sean O'Neil (Sam) are talking in her room, Melissa says something like "I feel just like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens" and Sean responds with something similar to, "What, you think an alien is going to burst through your chest?" I know it's not accurate, but you get the idea.

    Clerks - The Animated Series
    * Mik Charlton noticed this cracking reference to Aliens in Kevin Smith's "Clerks - The Animated Series". In the first episode, one of the characters refers to a dome that flys into space and then "nukes 'em from space and kills them all.... it's the only way to be sure". It's bloody hilarious (along with the rest of the episodes)

    Clueless
    * Ultra thanks to St Just for this one! : After a baby is born, one of the stars, referring to witnessing the birth, says,"It was like ALIEN, but without the music." Hope you enjoy this one. Not sure why he said without the music, but hey, its a reference!

    The Critic
    * St Just saw this great reference : (thanks man!)
On the CRITIC the other day, on the part when it shows a scene from a movie and Jay says,"it stinks" it showed the scene in Alien3 when the Alien was right up to Ripley's face in med-lab, and instead of hissing at her, it kissed her on the cheek. Ripley then turns and smiles at the Alien.

    David Copperfield
    * The David Copperfield special broadcast (April 26th, 2000] "The Great Escapes ". Essentially, the entire one-hour special on CBS used music from ALIENS, composed by James Horner. And these were uninterrupted segments of music... entire tracks! I hope they got permission....

    Dexter's Lab
    * From Hicks: In the show "Dexter's Lab", Dexter's family was being taken over by an alien intelligence (kind of like "The Body Snatchers" in one of the scenes he tries to stop them with a robot and he then proceed to burst in on a robot which looks the power loader from ALIENS

    Drew Carrey
    * St Just sent me this one! : Well, it went like this. Drew works in this office building and he is rivals with the secretary of his boss. She is a real witch and likes to wear a lot of make up, I mean a lot! So, one day she tried out some new brand of make up and had an allergic reaction. The doctor told her that she couldn't wear makeup for a week. So, she wore this vale to cover up her non-make up covered face. The boss got mad and told her the next day she had to come in wearing no make up and nothing to cover her face. She agreed, by saying,"finje, I'll come in looking like the day I was born." Or something like that. Then she stormed away. As she left*here comes the reference* Drew says,"born? I thought when she was born she burst out of her mother's stomach, slithered across the living room , and killed the Doctor."
    * On March 14th, 2001, CAPGOLLUM spotted this alien reference: All the actors are outside just talking, and thr Ryan Stiles character suddenly screams, and a very realistic chest burster puppet rips out of his shirt. He says something along the line of "look it's Gary, the friendly chest buster!" I do not remember the exact name he said, yet it was something like that. The chest burster stayed with him the whole scene moving its head around, and opening and closing its detailed jaw. It was a funny bit. [Thanks CAPGOLLUM!]

    Duckman
    * Mark sent me this : In an episode of Duckman he drinks a glass of water in a third world country. The water is filled with germs and stuff. Duckman drinks it and music from Aliens starts to play and then something starts to pop out of his chest.
    * Thanks to that crazy alien fan, GGStu for telling the world of this reference! : My reference pertains to the duckman cartoon series that airs on The cartoon network here in Canada. Well in one of the episodes, they are doing a whole spoof of star trek, with duckman as Kirk, Cornfed as spock, Ajack as scotty, Bernice as Uhura etc... Well towards the end of the cartoon an alien is shown. Cornfed says "He is requesting passages on our ship, in return for his services as a tailor". *laff* Or something like that. And we're talking like a full alien warrior. Offcourse it wasn't an exact replica, it was drawn in the duckman graphics. And the alien is on screen for a good 30 seconds, they even show it sticking out its tounge and slimy! :)
    * From Hicks : In one episode they had a drill where everyone was evacuated into an underground shelter (except a misinformed Duckman) who then thinks everyone is dead, as the others try to escape the shelter they've been locked in, above ground Duckman dumps a bunch of ballbearings down a sewer, underground Cornfed pulls out a remote thing to which he sees several blips coming at them. This looks like the scene in "Aliens" when they are sealing the door and Hicks starts getting several readings...

    Entertainment Tonight (1998)
    * (Note, this does not include blatent promo's or interviews relating to the ALIEN series....) Thanks to St Just! On Entertainment Tonight it had a little report on this guy from Newsradio, Andy Dick, who was going undercover as a paparazi reporter for an article in Jane Magazine this month. Well, while he was talking to to the ET reporters, he started ranting and saying,"Ohh Sigourney, act like there are Aliens running after you!'' And then it showed him in a photo sitting next to Siggy Weaver at the party they were at.

    ER 2/15/2001
    * One of the most popular shows in North America had a nice ALIEN reference. In the beginning of ER, Dr. Elizabeth Corday (who is pregnant) remarked that she couldn't help but think of ALIEN, and that the baby would burst from her stomach. I'll get the actual quote when the episode repeats (I couldn't scribble it down fast enough!)

    Everybody Loves Raymond
    * It goes like this; Raymond wasn't getting any sleep because his wife would cuddle him in her sleep, and it made him uncomfortable. When he's telling her of this, he describes her as, "Like that monster in that movie on the spaceship with all the arms!" and then proceeds to mimic a facehugger jumping on his face, a tube going down his throat, and then a chestburster exploding from his chest, with his hand. I thought it was damn funny. [So do I! Thanks to St. Just!]

    Family Guy
    * Hicks reports: I Just saw a preview for the 12/26 episode of family guy (a Y2K theme) there was one particular scene with Stewie (the baby) running around yelling "That's it man, game over man, game over..." and sounding very much like Bill Paxton at the time

    Farscape (2000)
    * In a recent episode Sci-Fi channel ran of this the main characters were hunting down a strange parasite, when told that it had to be captured alive one of them comments "Well what kind of weapon am I supposed to use, harsh language?" [Of course, in Aliens it was "What are we supposed to use man, harsh language?" Thanks to Hicks!]

    Fox Files
    * From Kaminskiw: I was watching "Fox Files", a 20/20 style show, which is done by Twentieth Century Fox, when I noticed an Aliens reference. Before each story comes on they have a sort of intro that last's about 5 seconds long, and has a CG Fox-Files logo. In the background, music is played. Well, in one particular "episode" had a snipet from the 'Alien Trilogy' Video game.

    Freaks and Geeks (1999)
    * St Just explains it all: The show is about three freshman in the year 1980 coping with high school life and growing up. Kinda like the Wonder Years continued. Anyways, the three guys, the Geeks, are in Sex ED class, and the Gym Coach teacher is showing a diagram of the female reproduction system. The Jewish guy, who I'm saddened to not know the name of since this is like my favorite show, says to his clueless friend, "Hey didn't Sigourney Weaver destroy that in Alien?" the friend laughs and says, "Yeah yeah, remember when that thing came out of the guy's stomach?" And the Jewish guy replies, "No you idiot, out of his chest!"

    French & Saunders (British)
    * French & Saunders made a great ALIENS spoof, which was * 10 MINUTES* in length.
    * Boldguy has this epic report! : I did watch the French and Saunders parody I informed you about, and they showed the "Special Edition" (the normal version that featured on "French and Saunders Go To the Movies" doesn't show a few scenes) which includes footage of them gearing up in the Sulaco and Dawn French with a facehugger on her face.

Froot Loops (breakfast cereal ad - 1999)
    * Thanks to LCp1Xander & Richard for sending this my way : A group of space explorers find a derelict ship, and it looks like the derelict from aliens. Their suits, and the whole comercial are totally reminiscent. After exploring, one guy gets lowered down by a wire into a deep pit / chamber, with mist on the ground. He finds a giant lemon, which pops open like 'the egg,' then, Toucan Sam (the mascot) pops out, and flies onto his face, like the facehugger on Kane.

    Game Over (UK)
    * From Boldguy: On the UK video games TV show, "Game Over", during one of their comedy sketches used in linking features together, their was a fight scene about to occur between two of the cast in the middle of a dark wood, and before the fake fight began, one of the guys said "Out here, in these woods, no-one can hear you scream."

    Gargoyles (1994, episode #2)
    * In the second episode of this Disney cartoon series, there is a very direct use of a powerloader involved in some heavy lifting. The shape, color, and design (cage around head, arms with vices, powerd movement) are just about the same as the powerloader in Aliens. The cartoon shows this unit rather clearly too.

    Good Vs. Evil
    * [From St Just] It's about these two bounty hunters for God that work in an Agency called the Corp. The bad guys are Morlocks, but in this episode a morlock was going to attain the ability to become a full fledged demon. When describing demons, the head guy, Ford, said, "They only come out at night and their touch burns." To which Chandler, the main guy responded, "Acid for blood." In a monotone, thoughtful manner like he was quoting, not just speaking.

    Grim and Evil
    * FURyNo13 tells us: On that new show Cartoon network is starting , Grim and Evil, the first episode starts with a boy named Eddy playing with army men and a blue creature that resemble an alien, only its blue, has no tail, eyes, and a leechlike sucking mouth.

    HBO
*I just recently taped Alien:Resurrection and just after the credits they had a segment called "sequels you'll never see" and sure enough this one (which I taped and will try to upload if I can) was "ALIEN XII: Recipe for disaster" this started out as the dinner scene from ALIEN but when Kane went into convulsions instead of a chestburster a red sock puppet with googly eyes bursts out and starts picking up and throwing food at everyone

    Home Improvement (1998)
    * There was an alien reference in this week's Home Improvement. It's Halloween episode with Tim setting up little pranks in an effort to scare Jill. One of the pranks is a chestburster that shoots out of the kitchen sink. Jill is unphased. Some words are exchanged and she heads to the garage where a fake skeleton, or zombie (something like that) pops out. (Thanks to Chestburster for the reference!)

    In Living Color
    * This is the show that really made Jim Carrey Famous! Kevin S. has this to say : "In Living Color" did an Alien spoof a few years back. I don't remember many details about it but I think it was also about Star Trek and it involved the Jim Carrey character "Fire Marshall Bill" and it had a chestburster scene. 'Jack' tells us more : While he was goofing around, he decided to get a drink of water, so he drank from this giant vat. One of the ship's crewmembers said that there was an alien in it, and Jim just looks at the camera, and says "Gee, I wonder what's gonna happen next?" before jumping on the table and well, you know the rest. [Thank you Jack!]

    Invader ZIM
    * As Hicks reports: "Invader ZIM" is by Nickelodeon is about an alien hiding out on Earth as an invasion force. In a recent episode he was found out by a group of UFO watchers, as they advanced on him he order "Stand back or else I'll lay eggs in your stomach!!!"
    * As Robert P. tells the world: In the 'Lice' episode, the last few moments of the show take place under the school in a very Aliens-like place. They see the Queen Lice which is sitting in the same position as the first sight of the Queen in Aliens. Also, as the lice killer lady is about to shoot the Zim gun she says "close your eyes baby" just like when Ripley was holding Newt and the platform was busting while the queen was coming outta the elevator in Aliens.

    Japanese Game Show (?)
    * Owen sent some info that "In 1992, when Alien 3 first came out, there was a scene on a Japanese comedy show spoofing the movie in which the comedians were on a stage hunting down a guy in a rubber Alien suit." Thanks Owen!

    Jeopardy (1998)
    * Skeeter was getting smarter, when this (answer) came up:
    In the "Star Movies" category:
SIGOURNEY WEAVER HAS PORTRAYED THE INTREPID RIPLEY SINCE THIS SERIES OF FILMS BEGAN IN 1979
I think it was an $800 question.

    Johnny Bravo (Cartoon)
    * This comes from Starflare: In the cartoon Johnny Bravo, Johnny is mistaken for the ship's captain and causes havoc, when the real captain returns Johnny says something like "Well what you gonna do, throw me on a planet with a huge terrifying Alien or something?" Now, normally that would not be a reference, but at the end of the show it displays Johnny dangling from some webbing and a polkadotted egg is in front of him. The egg opens up via Alien style and the legs of a chestburster start coming out of it Johnny says "down doggie, good doggie" (or something like that...) and if Starflare's memory serves him right, as the scene blacks out you can hear an Alien roar or shriek.

    Late Night with Conan O'Brien
    * Thanks to An Alien Fan for this one! : A member of the new Comedy Central sketch comedy team, the Upright Citizens Brigade, came on as a guest. He put aside any interviewing and addressed "a very serious topic": prejudices against astronauts. As soon as he said this the rest of the Upright Citizens Brigade, dressed as rednecks and conservatives in the audience, started bad mouthing astronauts. The guest brought out an actual astronaut to prove they're just like everyone else. But it didn't work, as one of them says how astronauts stomachs are incubators for alien fetuses. The redneck says that if he's a real human then he would "eat this all american cheeseburger, with everything on it." The astronaut does and at first it seems that he's normal, but then a worm bursts out of his stomach and bites the guest. The redneck shoots the astronaut, and then the guest yells "Kill me before I become one of them." The redneck starts to kick him "No," he yells "with the gun!" He starts to beat him with the gun. "Shoot me! Shoot me with the gun!" The redneck does so, then leaves. Dying, the guest says what a shame it is for him to die right before his show on Comedy Central starts. He starts mentioning its time spot, its website, its t-shirts... then Andy Ricther shoots him dead.
    * Chestburster found this reference : The skit involves Jay talking to John Glenn (The Astronaut). It's actually a picture of Glen with the lips of actor providing speech. Later in the skit, a fake Bob Dole pops into the screen. As they talk, Dole says "In space, no one can hear you Dole." It wasn't funny but it is a reference. . . sort of.
    * From Kdawg! : During a skit called "Conan and Andy on the Isle" (in which they review current films) they talked about how they don't like how hollywood is mixing films together to solicitize, then they showed the clip from resurrection where they were climbing up the ladder and the alien was hanging onto christie's foot, then all of a sudden flubber appeared, shot all around in different directions, then somebody said "go get him flubber!!!!" then flubber shot down and then went into the aliens brain and came out it's butt, then the alien exploded, then a bunch of people shouted "yea flubber!!!"

The Late Show with David Letterman (1997)
    * As most humans know, David Letterman has a top 10 list every show. This one had an Alien reference : (From the Home Office in Wahoo, Nebraska, it's the Top Ten List for June 25, 1997.) Top Ten Space Alien Pick-Up Lines :
    10. How about a close encounter of the pantsless kind? 9. Set phasers on love 8. Are you a carbon-based model? 7. I'd like to wrap my 36 arms around you 6. Are you up for some experimental probing? 5. Want me to introduce you to E.T.? 4. Care to join the Million-Mile High Club? 3. Mind if I burst out of your stomach? 2. Nice asteroid. 1. Hi, I'm Michael Jackson
    * When Sigourney Weaver was interviewed, they had a funny 'posting board' that summarized the ALIEN series, film by film. It went something like 'ALIEN' - Kicks ALIEN ass, 'ALIENS' - Kicks ALIEN ass, 'ALIEN 3' - Died, 'ALIEN 4' - Kicks ALIEN ass. I'll get the correct wording when I watch it again... :)
    * Thanks to Sean for getting this great one! :
On tonights' top 10 list, October 30, 1998; the topic was "top 10 pranks to pull on Mischeif Night (?) in Space". Number 2 was-"Sneak an action figure from the Alien movies onboard and pretend it bursts out of your stomach at dinner."

    MadTV (1998)
    * The date: January 31st, 1998. The Show: MadTV. The spoof: CLAYLIEN RESURRECTION. This is one of the greatest spoofs of the ALIEN series ever. Hilarious! Watch for repeats, the it has the 'Spice-girls' (no, just a spoof of 'em) listed as guests. Here is a transcript!

    Mad About You (1996)
    * One actor (he's now on Spin City), dissatisfied with his marriage, asks Paul Riser (Burke in ALIENS):
Person : "Have you ever seen Alien?"
Paul : "Just the first one, not-not the second one."

    The Man from Auntie (UK)
    * From Boldguy! : This is a one-man stand-up comedy show, The Man from Auntie, starring Ben Elton (the writer of the Blackadders II - IV). He was making a joke about the bizarre pulse you can see throbbing on a newborn babies head, and claimed he thought that the alien was going to burst out of its head (one of those jokes that sounds better on TV).

    The MASK
    * Courtesy of Mark : In this cartoon, one episode he (the MASK) somehow gets launched into space and ends up fighting some weird aliens. At one point he manages to get a massive mech of some sort and changes himself into Ripley and says "Get away from him you clitch!!" its pretty funny but you'll just have to see it.
    * Thanks to Bjorn! In one episode stupid Stanley Ipkiss loses the MASK to a baby. In one scene the baby morphs into a small VERY green Alien and grabs the face of the Police-Chief.

The Mickey Mouse Club (early 1990's)
    * 'An Alien Fan' loves his early 90s : Back in the neon sneaker wearing, Full House and Blossom watching, hot pink graffiti on brick walls having, Spencer Gifts shopping, large plastic earring hanging, confeti designs on school supplies owning, New Kids On The Block listening early 90s, The Disney Channel started a NEW Mickey Mouse Club that had very little to do with Mickey Mouse. The show had crapy pop music guests and dumb "comedy" sketches. In one episode there was a skit where two girl cast members played frizzy haired film critics; the catch was they were both obsessed about hair (pretty funny, huh :( yeah right). Well, they started talking about some movies then they got to talking about Alien3. Of course they were disgusted because Sigourney had shaved her head.

    Movie Magic
    * This 'movie making documentary' show has had several ALIEN based references. The show usually was 3 parts, with each part devoted to a certain aspect in film-making special effects. I have seen the following clips:
--How the Queen ALIEN was made (designwork, models) this was an EXCELLENT one. This was primarily taken from the Special Edition Laserdisc supplemental material.
--A show on Stan Winston; with a few ALIENS pictures.
--How the APC in ALIENS ran, this showed the model, techniques and more. A GREAT clip! This was also NOT on the ALIENS SE laserdisc, so there must have been another 'making of' documentary at the time.
--There was an entire show devoted to H.R. Giger, including a visit to his studio, and of course, the ALIEN and its design.
--There have been other wee clips, including an ALIEN costume snippet.
I have most of these on tape, so feel free to ask me any questions on it. Thanks to Mark for the memory jolt. :)

    MTV
    * Thanks to Deren! :) On MTV there is a show called "underGRADS." Nerdish characters working under the supervision of their "leader" Gimpy are sent into a College Frat house to give a Frat member named Rocko a bad reputation, making it look as if he hangs out with losers. Gimpy is watching them closely on his many computer monitors from his dorm room, and watches as the camera feed is cut off as the brave young nerds scream, leaving static and their heart rates flatlining. When the feed is finally returned, Mump, one of the men, shouts out "Game over man! Game over!" And his camera zooms out to show his playing a video game with one of the Frat guys.

    Muppet Babies
    * In this cartoon ('bout the "muppets" characters as babies, I used to watch this all the time actuallly) they commonly go 'on the set' (if you've seen the show you'll know what I mean) of movies. Sort of like bluescreen ...with animation. (?!?!) Mark says that in one episode they walked around in the Sulaco. Thanks for the info Mark! Nootch verifies : All I remember is the Muppet Babies were waking up from a nap or something and they showed the screen on the Sulaco which shows all the Marines and Science teams names. You know, the display on the computer monitor that is shown before they wake up from hypersleep.

    Mystery Science Theatre 3000
    * Nootch informs me of this good one :
In Episode #424 (Manos: Hands of Fate) during the first intermission Joel, Tom, and Crow are pretending to be pulled over by the police. Tom starts yelling.....
Tom : "This is a bughunt man! A bughunt!"
Crow : "Game over man! Game over!"
Joel (intterupts, trying to calm them down) : "Stay frosty."
    * (Episode #809) Manofpern tells me of this one:
During the parts in between the movie bashing, the guys find the bridge to their ship covered in eggs, Servo gets a face-hugger on him, and later Mike Nelson has to transform himself into the most repulsive thing he can think of (The lead singer of Counting Crows, Adam Duritz) to scare a Alien off the outside of the ship.
    * Oscar Special episode. 'Orbita' told me of this reference occuring:
The guys are watching a clip of TITANIC. When Bill Paxton appears on the screen, one of them says "It's a bughunt, man!"
    * Thanks to Paul! : In one Episode of MST3k an "Evil" Crow that's painted all black (Timmy) has invaded the Shuttle Of Love. So, Joel comes in through the doors, says the "Get away from him, you bitch" (Servo, in this case) line, grabs a broom, and jetisens him through the airlock. :)
    * Again, from Paul: Also, in an earlier episode of MST3k, during the Invention Exchange, Joel made this cool combination Loader/Drum Kit (It's seen in the opening credits of Seasons 2 through 5).

    The Naked Truth
    * Ripley says : I was watching 'The Naked Truth' today and in a scene where Tea Leoni was getting the gibblets out of the turkey and she got one of the intestines. A friend was standing near her and said "Oh my god, it's and Alien, kill it before it grows any bigger!" and it looked like a chestburster!

    National Geographic
    * St Just was in his Biology class one day and saw a National Geographic show about Cockroaches, and exterminators. While a group of exterminators were killing Cockroaches in a restaurant kitchen, one of them was quoting Hudson, saying, "Game over man, game over! They're animals man!" It was damn funny, but I was the only one in the class laughing. :) [shame, too! :-) ]

    Ned & Stacey
    * Luka passes along: I really don't remember the words anymore. But it went something like this: Ned was complaining about how Stacey is eating him inside, then Eric (played by Greg Germann) asked: "Like Alien?" and later: "Do you want her to burst out of your chest and run across the table?" or something like that.

    Neds Newt (Canada)
    * Mark also reminded me of this : Neds Newt (a show on teletoon [In Canada]) there is a referance made. "Whats the matter? Did an alien emplant eggs in your chest and its about to burst out any second?" or something like that.

    Newsradio
    * The gang gets trapped in an Elevator, and the lights go red....spoofing a scene from ALIENS.
    * Nootch informs the world: On Newsradio there was a huge ALIEN reference / spoof. The whole episode takes place in space in the distant future. The cast now work at an outer space news radio station. About halfway through the episode Dave (station manager) asks Jimmy James (station owner) if he checked his ship for any aliens. Jimmy says that he didn't and he's not too worried about it. Dave replies "Yeah that's nice untill they start breeding in your intestines". They then discover that an alien is loose in the office so Dave and Lisa (Dave's girlfriend) brandish pulse rifle looking guns and scan around the room for aliens while the sound of a motion tracker can be heard in the backround. The alien then scurries out of a corner and Mr. James throws a big book on top of it. A sizziling green puddle forms under the book. Mr. James starts to poke the ooze with his shoe and Dave says something like "Careful Mr. James that stuff can eat right through the floor." Also, during the episode hypersleep capsules can be seen often and at the end the whole cast except for Bill and Mathew go into the capsules, untill Mathew accidently unplugs them, killing everyone.

    * Nootch found another Newsradio ALIENS refference. It spoofs the attack on operations. Here goes...The building's air conditioner is broken leaving everybody really drowsy and falling asleep where they all have strange dreams. In Beth's dream she goes up to Joe and asks him if the air conditioner is fixed yet, the lights go red and Joe starts reading distances off a motion tracker like in the film. Beth then basically quotes the script word for word saying, "They must have find another way in, something we missed, something not in the plans!" Suddenly the rest off the cast drops down from the ceiling and closes in on them. Beth then wakes up screaming. Game over man.

    Nik-Nak (TV Ad)
    * Thanks to Caananite & Christian: The Nik-Naks ad campaign that ran in the UK recently was a straight pastiche of the chestburster scene, even down to the characters looking like their counterparts. Of course, it's a Nik-Nak (a kind of cancerous looking twiglet type corn snack) which bursts out of Kane's chest not a chestburster, but it still spatters Nik-Nak crumbs over everyone and Lambert squeals like a pig. Check out Kane's twitching hands. A priceless shot-for-shot pastiche. You can see it by clicking here.

    The Outer Limits
    * Kaminski found this one! : Last night i was tuned into Global, watching The Outer Limits. There is a major alien influence in it. The episode involved a man who combines his DNA with an aliens, and his body try's to replicate itself, through mitosis. In one part he suddenly get severe stomach cramps. He starts screaming, and then gets on a table, back first, just like Kaine did. Then he takes his shirt off and a big lump is in his chest. Then an alien bursts its way out of his chest. The alien even looked exactly like a facehugger, and it then scurries away from the table, just like in Alien!

    Pay-Per-View (Species 2)
    * From Hicks: An add for the movie Species 2 uses the music from the cremation scene in "Alien 3" the one segment beford the actually show the cremation.

    Picket Fences
From Josh H. : I was just watching an old ep of Picket Fences I had on tape and found a cool Alien ref in it. Tom Skerrit is the town sheriff and his wife is the town doctor and he is having stomach problems had in a smart ass tone she tells him "Well it's not like you have an alien inside you!!" [Thanks Josh!...of course, Tom Skerrit played "Dallas" in ALIEN. But ya'll knew that already. :) ]

    Pinky and the Brain
    * D. Hicks notices : For a short time this show started out primetime and every week TV Guide would have a large flyer for the show for one episode the flyer read "In Space No One can hear you..Narf" an obvious parody to the first films tagline.

    A Pup Called Scooby-Doo
    * From Gord: I just saw a commercial for the cartoon A Pup Called Scooby-Doo, and there was a monster that had an inner mouth come out, and another, and another, and... there were about 6 inner mouths in total.

    The Real Ghostbusters
    * In the episode, "Drool, the Dog-Faced Goblin", the four guys are sent out in the Poconos investigating a sleazy sideshow. They stop at a hotel after their car breaks down, and we come to a shot of Ray in his room. He's playing with an ALIEN action figure! The toy is red, unlike the real alien, but it looks exactly like one. The other, I believe, is a PREDATOR figurine, but blue. Great thanks to An Alien Fan for sending it in.

    Red Dwarf
    * St Just tells me of this : On one episode the crew finds a crate in space. When they open it, an Alien reminiscent of thge Alien from ALIEN escapes. It shoots a tongue out of it's head(like the alien) that attaches to a human's forehead and sucks out their emotions. Basicly, the rest of the episode the android, hologram, and Lister are going around trying to kill the Alien.
    * In the latest series of RD, the opening episode features the senile computer Holly playing a game of charades during a relatively critical moment for the crew (the ship's about to crash!). Anyway, his hint is "science-fiction film; spaceship; one word [sic]" and he bops his head forward and points his nose out. When the crew ignores him, he announces "The Nostrolomo"! Nostrolomo?? What a smegger! [Thanks ZenAnomoly!]
    * D. Baugh has this info: From Red Dwarf British TV series, "Psirens" Episode. The crew flying through an asteroid field full of crashed derelict spaceships. The first shot of the starbug (their ship) flying through the asteroids, the crashed ship on the first asteroid to pass across the screen is the Shuttlecraft Narcissus that Ripley used to escape in the first movie. It's very distinguishable with its arrowhead shape and 4 rear thrusters. A perfect match!

    Red Dwarf USA (1992)
    * Kevin sent me this info! Go to the Red Dwarf USA page by clicking here. This was the very short lived US spinoff of the successful UK show. (see above!) From the episode "Shutdown" :
    RIMMER : Aliens!
LISTER : Ohhh, let's hope they're the good kind. The kind with beautiful women, with beehive hairdos who say things like "Show us more of this Earth thing called kissing."
RIMMER : Wait a minute. What if they're the bad kind? You know the kind that want to enter your bodily orifices and then burst out at inappropriate moments.
CAT : Well they had better watch out, because if they try and start something, I'm going to kick their green acid filled buts from here to Saturn.

    Rocko's Modern Life
    * Thanks to Hicks for noticing this one! :
In one episode Rocko and Heffer think Filburt is an alien. In one of the scenes, Heffer asks Filburt of his plans for later. When Filburt asks what kind of plans Heffer responds "You know, take a walk, see a movie,(pause)burst out of someones chest."

    Roseanne
    * One of the annual Halloween specials, the chestburster makes an appearance.
    * From Paul! : In a Halloween episode of Roseanne, Darlene is sitting on the couch, and says she can't go to a Halloween party because she's complaining of a stomache ache. She convulses a bit and this weird little alien pops out of her sweater. Cute. :)

    Roswell (1999-premeire episode!)
    * Thanks to Graham & Ripley :-) Here is what they have to say:
Ripley: A friend told me they were watching Roswell and they went into a restaurant with an Alien theme mean. And one character said I'll have one Sigourney Weaver please.
Graham: There was celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Roswell crash. Everyone who attended went dressed in costume. The lead actress looked liked she was supposed to be dressed as Ripley from Resurrection. Check it out if ya can. She is much younger, just a teenager though, but was very cool. Her counterpart in the show .....(romantic interest) ...was dressed as one of the "MEN IN BLACK" I assume.

    Rugrats
    * In a RUGRATS episode the babies were in granpa's camper, thinking it was a spaceshuttle going to the moon. Phil, Lil, Tommy, and Chuckie are arguing over who's fault it is that they're "on the moon" and Phil says the famous tag line: "In Space No one Can here you Scream.". [Thanks to Stephen S!]

    Saturday Night Live:
    * Appearance 1 : (October 11, 1986) Sigourney Weaver as the host, there is a skit where Ripley and the marines kill E.T. (By Mistake, of course.) Episode 86a.

    * Appearance 2 : Paul Riser as the host, I missed this episode by about half an hour! Crap! But, There was a skit of 'Mad About You' as 'Mad About You Aliens." Episode 94o.

    * Skeet sent me this great one! (Thanks!) : David Duchovny was hosting, and in the opening skit he was Mulder, talking about how he was finally going to meet Deep Throat and get some answers. In walks Janet Reno, who hits on Mulder. He asks, "What about all that stuff you said about showing me aliens?" Reno says, "Aliens, oh yes, it's one of my favorite movies..."
There was also a funny "Go Lords" skit that involved a doll of James Cameron complete with crown and royal robes(King of the world!), unleashing an army of Leonardo DiCaprios that are killed by the Go Lords in gruesome fashion.

*"An Alien Fan" (thanks man!) spotted this classic reference : -In an opening sketch, Bob Dole (played by Norm MacDonald), was worried about if he'd win the election. After talking with Mrs. Dole he falls asleep to have a dream in which Bill Pullman (the host that week) as the president from Independence Day was Dole's opponent instead of Clinton. Dole tells the audience that "this is the President who didn't evacuate the cities when the aliens came." But no one seems to mind. Toward the end of the sketch a man stands up to ask the candidates a question, and we see his bulging stomach.
Dole : Good God! What happened to you?
Man : Oh, me? I just got impregnated by one of the aliens.
After that, a sorry excuse for a Chestbuster puppet comes out of the man's stomach and as the man screams:
Chestbuster (Don Pardo's voice): Live from New York, It's Saturday Night!!
(Don Pardo is the SNL announcer)

    * On Saturday Night Live, There was a skit where the Spice Girls (not the real ones) were talking about being pregnant. And then Scary Spice said Take care of it, it's not an Alien" [Nathan's note.... I would normally not include this one, but since it was in reference to her stomach area...chestbursters come from stomachs...yadda, yadda... :)

    The Simpsons
    * (Episode "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song" season 5 ep. 18) When Bart brings the dog to school, it gets loose in the air vents. The dog is similar in acting to the Alien from Alien 3.
When Willie goes to get the dog there is a bit of an ALIEN spoof going on! (If you've seen the episode, you'll know what I mean.) Its very funny! It has Willie as Dallas, and the others as Lambert watching thier monitor...
And when Principal Skinner looks up into the Air vent, it recreates the part in ALIENS where Hicks looks in the roof.

    * "An Alien Fan" sent me this :
(Episode "Deep Space Homer" season 5 ep. 13) There was an Itchy + Scratchy called "Scar Trek: The Last Laceration" in which Scratchy pilots a spaceship and eats a sandwich, just to have Itchy burst out of his chest, a la Chestbuster.

    * Nootch Spills : (8th season finale episode "The Secret War of Lisa Simpson") In the beginning we see Bart is on a field trip at the Springfield Police Station. He gets seperated from the others and makes his way to a room with a lot of megaphones hanging on the wall. He lines up all the megaphones so they are in a straight line, connected back to front so that the sound will travel trough all of them. He has about 20 lined up. Then he yells "Testing!" into the first one, it travels through all 20 and ends up being very loud, traveling through the whole town. Then we see various things in the town breaking because of the supersonic sound that Bart has created. We see Professor Frink in his lab standing by a small octopus in a tank. Because of the sound the tank shatters and all the water runs out. After a second the octopus suddenly, very quickly leaps onto Frink's face. It is very reminisent of the "Kane facehugger scene" in the derelict ship in Alien. I have a picture of the scene in a Simpson's guide Book and it looks EXACTLY like a facehugger. Two tentacles go over the top of the head, the rest go around the side of the head, and a "tail" like thing is wrapped around Frink's neck. DEFINITLY an Alien reference.

    * On the Simpson's Halloween Special IX there was a big referance after Homer rips his newly transplaned hair out and throws it on the ground. All of a sudden the hair comes to life and jumps straight onto Bart's face a la facehugger in the medlab scene in Aliens. (Thanks to Kevin!)
    * During the final story in the Simpsons Halloween Special IX, Maggie molts out green octopus legs and a large fang. Then it turns out that Maggie was actually conceived by alien Kang. Unable to settle wether Homer should stay father having loved her or Kang should take her being biological father, the Simpsons and Kang go on Jerry Springer. After Springer's pleasant and heart warming "Final Thought" Maggie hisses and jumps at him wrapping her tentacles around his head, like a face-hugger. Also when Springer tries to fight back, Kang wraps his tentacle hands around Springers face suffocating him("Oh my God. They killed Jerry Springer! You bastards!") Big thanks to An Alien Fan!

    * Thanks to Hicks for this one : In one episode they started out with a shot in the arcade one of the machines is for a game called "ALIEN" and is written in "ALIENS" font.

    * From Dwayne Hicks: I just found this ref in "The Simpsons" in one recent episode the family went to a sci-fi convention at one point there was a riot in which Homer successfully rescued Mark Hamill and the mayor lisa then asks "What about Maggie?" to which Homer replies "Forget Maggie, she's gone." (Similar to Hicks in ALIENS)

    * Thanks to Seth. On the February 24th 2002 episode of the Simpsons, titled "The Latest Gun in the West" had a decent Alien reference. Bart befriends an elderly cowboy who was once a Big Screen Legend, a la John Wayne. Later in the episode the cowboy redeems himself by restoring order at the scene of a bank robbery and lassoing the robbers with his classic lasso trickery. The bank robbers were all carrying pulse rifles.

    Sky TV (UK satellite TV)
    * Boldguy watches his satellite TV : This is the FIRST time that 'Alien Resurrection' music was played publically and not in a film. Sky TV (the UK satelite TV provider) did a trailer for showing Dantés Peak, and accompanying it was the music for The Aliens Escape again (popular track). Anyway, this trailer was shown about a month and a half ago (December '98).

    Something So Right
    * Thanks to 'An Alien Fan' for scooping up this! (Episode "Something About an Ex-Goddess") : Jack's ex-wife Stephanie gets kicked off her starting role as 'Thena: Warrior Princess'. So to cheer her up Carly bakes a cake for her, but Jack says not to give it to her, here's why(these aren't quotes but there close enough):
Jack : You don't know Stephanie like I do. You give her that cake and you're opening the door to her.
    Carly : So.
Jack : 'So', you open that door too much and she'll burst in here cling to us and suck the life from us. She's like an alien!
Carly : Jack, it's just a cake. That won't happen.
Jack : Ok, but you remember that when she comes bursting out of my chest!

    the SPACE network (1998)
    * This is the SPACE cable channel in Canada. They have news segments mixed in with the shows....and Mark saw this reference : they had a guy walking around a comic book store doing a news story or something like that and somebody throws a rubber face hugger at him. Pretty funny! Thank you Mark! Here is the Official Site.
    * Gord had this to tell: On Space: The Imagination Station (A Candian Specialty channel) they hare having a "Sci-Fi Classics Week" (jan 19th '99 weekend). Although it's all old movies and that no alien movies are in it, the ad does have the "The Aliens Escape" track from the Alien Resurrection soundtrack as the background music.
    * As an 'inbetween' segment between their movies (and shows?), they show a clip of a person with a facehugger on him.

    South Park (1998)
    * Upon when Barbara Streisand turns (not much of a change :) into a monster (Mega Streisand), there are several references, but the best one was when Stan says to Chef "My mom always said there were no monsters; but there are, aren't there Chef?" It was even said in the same tone (and context!) as when Newt said it. :)
    * The South Park episode that aired on Wednesday July 14th, 1999 had a great reference!
Cartman is sitting on the couch watching TV and the TV announcer says "and now back to ALIENS." The TV shows Ripley and Newt and Newt says her famous line "they mostly come at night....mostly." Cartman repeats the line in his best Newt impression and then the babysitter comes in and turns the TV off and Cartman yells "But I was watching ALIENS!!!!"
See a picture of the scene Here, And hear it by Clicking Here! [Thanks to The.avatar for passing the multimedia bits along. :-) ] Hicks adds: After that scene throughout the rest of the episode Cartman say several spins on the phrase.

    Starship Troopers (Cartoon)
    * Chris S. reports: I was (for some odd reason) watching that cartoon rip of Starship Troopers this morning and there was an episode that had many references to the ALIENS series. The first is when one of the characters is talking about how hot it is and the Doctor (I think) says "Yeah but its a dry heat". Later in the episode the squad discovers this race of aliens which are under control of the bugs. When the scan the alien with some X-Ray gun they alien bends over, screams, and the bug busts through his neck. This same thing also happens to many more characters later in the episode.

    Star Trek: Voyager
    * The Star Trek: Voyager episode 'Macrocosm' was a _very_ obvious Alien series take off, with Janeway playing Sigourney. It's in the third season, I believe. Janeway ends up running around dressed like Ripley in the second movie, shooting big guns at the creatures. The plot's about Janeway coming back to her ship to find it deserted. It turns out all the crew have been gathered in the mess hall to serve as incubators for an alien creature. Come to think of it, I think they even spit acid. Thanks to Mick for this great reference!

    Step by Step
    * 'An Alien Fan' found this one: I don't know what episode it was but... while Carol was still pregnant she brings Frank into the living room to watch a tape of the delivery of a child. She says that it's a little bit raw and asks him if he could stomach it. He says that he saw Aliens and how that had an alien's claw go straight through a guys chest and that he would be able to take this. He of course is referring to Bishop getting torn in two by the alien queen toward the end of Aliens. (FYI Frank is completely grossed out by the video, while Carol thinks it's beautiful.)

    Taz-Mania
    * Thanks to An_Alien_Fan for nabbing this one! : In one part of an episode (there were two cartoons each episode) the plot centered on Taz's little bother's imagination. He went around the house acting out movies and such, and it was made to look like he was really there. At one point he acted out his own version of Alien: In the a spaceship's utility room (the closet), he narrated to himself that the alien had gotten all of the crew. He put on a space helmet(a fish bowl) because he said that the Alien could turn off the ships air at anytime. And armed himself with a gun (a plunger, I think)/ He moved through the ship's airducts (the house's airducts), until he found the alien (Taz). The alien was like a Taz/Warrior Alien hybrid. Alien color, Taz shaped, and no eyes. I don't remember what happened next, but I think he jumped on the Taz/alien and fought him until they dissolved the scene back into reality.

    TBS - 'Monkeyed Movie'
    * " On the TBS Network, they used to air little movie parodies using apes (like chimpanzees and orangutans) to fill in gaps between shows. Anyhow, one of these 'Monkeyed Movies' was an 'Alien' parody. It basically had some monkeys standing around a table with another monkey laying on the table with a facehugger attached to his face. The other monkeys are poking at it, and one pokes it with a knife (I think) and it squirts purple goo on the floor. The monkey reaches to touch it, and the others warn him not to. He does it anyway, then sticks his finger in his mouth and tells the others that it's just grape jelly.
Then it switches to the dinner scene, with all the monkeys are eating. The monkey that had the facehugger on him begins moaning and groaning, and climbs up on the table. He starts thrashing around and his stomach expands, and then he passes major gas, lets out a sigh and comments on how it was just gas while the other monkeys are all holding their noses and complaining." [Super big thanks to William for the report!]

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
    * [Thanks to St Just!] I was watching Jay Leon friday (March 26th, 1999) and before Keanu came on to talk about 'The Matrix', Jay was talking to people in the audience. And for some reason, I missed the beginning so I'm not sure why, this teenage girl had Jay's microphone on her stomach and was wiggling it up and down. Guess she was trying to play a song or something. :) Anyways, while Jay was watching this, he said, "It's just like in that movie Alien!"

    The Vicar of Dibley
    * As Jay noticed: In the Uk, Dawn French stared in a bbc series called 'The Vicar of Dibley' and in it one of the not so bright characters called alice is pregant and talks to the Vicar (Dawn French);
Alice: I don't want a baby, it looks painfull when it bursts out your chest!
Vicar: You haven't been watching Alien by any chance have you?
    Alice: Yes ?!?
    Vicar: Hmmm..... Right

This Morning with Richard Not Judy (British TV)
    * From DJNock: During last year's British TV, I saw a great reference to Alien Resurrection. On the comedy sketch show 'This Morning With Richard Not Judy', they showed 'The Unseen Ending Of Alien Resurrection', in which after they got to Earth, Ripley went and hanged out with an Alien at Pizza Hut! It was hilarious! Also, throughout the series, a chestburster made several appearances. [Big thanks to DJ Nock!]

    TNT
    * Joshua points out: There was a promotional commercial for the TNT movie 'Houdini.' It featured the music from Alien: Resurrection that was used in all the trailers and commercials. (This would likely be the track 'Code Red,' which was made for trailers.)

    Two Guys and a Girl
    * Queen Alien passes along: On September 22, 2000 Two Guys and a Girl this was exchanged:
    Guy1(to a girl) :You're getting more evil!
    Girl : What?
Guy1 jumps off the couch says to guy2 : We need to find the nest and destroy the eggs!

Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place (1999)
    * I was watching Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place, a dreadful show, the other day, and when confronted with a bitchy pregnant woman asking for a donut, one of the guys replied, " And anything for your Alien host?"

    UPN
    * From D. Hicks: I just spotted a moderately old reference, back when UPN started out they had a special on horror films called "Anatomy Of Horror" at one point they brought up "Alien" as a classic horror film and also since this was made a while back they had a section behind-the-scenes of "Hellraiser:Bloodline." When they describe the film one of the tracks from "ALIENS" is played.

    Vicar of Dibley (British)
    * A wee bit of an ALIENS dialouge was used.

    VH1 (Pop Up Video)
    * As Joshua spills : On VH1's Pop-up Video, on "Scream" by Michael and Janet Jackson, there was a bubble that said something to the extent of: "In space no one can hear you scream. There is no oxygen for sound to travel." Not quite sure of the exact phrase. (Hey, it is close enough for a reference! :)

Who Wants to be a Millionaire? 2000
    * There was a very Alien-esque "Who wants to be a Millionaire" question. It was for $4000. The question was like:
What Sci-fi movie introduced the phrase: "In space, no one can hear you scream?"
    a) Forbidden Planet -- b) Alien -- c) 2001: A Space Oddessy -- d) can't remember.
It took the contestent a while, but she got it correct.
    * On the January 31st 2000 edition of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", the $64,000 questions was:
In the 1979 movie "Alien", what is the name of Ripley's spaceship?
    a) Nostromo -- b) Dark Star -- c) Pequod -- d) Nautilus
The woman got it wrong...she guessed 'C' when it is clearly 'A'. It pays to be an Alien fan. [Technically, the ship isn't Ripley's but Weyland-Yutani's, and she isn't the commanding officer...]

Whose Line is it Anyway? (British)
    * Mark tells me of this one : This is a standup comedy style of situation comedy show. (whew!) In one skit two comedians have to act out a seen from alien (the last supper) in 3 or four different ways. One is an opera and ...well...I forgot the rest..hehe... it was pretty funny :)

Whose line is it anyway? (American)
    * A skit in the show involved a 'dating game' routine, and Ryan Stiles (From the Drew Carey Show) was assigned to act out an 'Astronaut with an ALIEN inside him.' After a bit he did the hand out of stomach routine, a la ALIEN.

 Movie References
    Blade Runner (1982)
    * Blade Runner had the same director as ALIEN, Ridley Scott, and he also included a few similarities. The 'Purge' computer shot; and there is a similar humm in background (In Deckard's apartment) that is reminicent of the humm onboard the Nostromo.

    Evil Dead (1982)
    * ALIEN is mentioned as beeing spoofed.

    Poltergeist (1982)
    * Sean spotted this one : In the movie Plotergeist, at the very beginning when the kids are getting put to bed, theres a poster for Alien on the wall of their room.

    SpaceBalls (1985)
    * When Barf and Bill Pullman go to the space-bar, A lookalike crew of ALIEN actors and actresses are talking and eating. Then, John Hurt (Kane) 'recreates' his scene from ALIEN, he then exclaims "Oh no, not again!" The Alien then does a tacky song 'n dance number.

    Legend (1985)
    * LEGEND is directed by Ridley Scott. And, as St Just points out, it has a few similarities to ALIEN (Same director!) At the end, Jack (Tom Cruise) is fighting Darkness (a big devil like minotaur played by Tim Curry), and he throws the unicorns horn into Dakrness's chest, similar to Ripley firing the grapling hook into the Aliens chest, and then darkness falls backwards towards this doorway that for some reason leads off into space. He grabs the walls with his claws to hold himself back (like the alien grabbing the doorway), but Jack cuts his hands off, and he goes flying off into space. :)

    Lifeforce (1985)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

    Ferris Buellers Day Off (1986)
    * Great movie! In one part, Ferris Bueller explains how he is feeling to some freshmen;
Ferris : Did you see Alien? When the guy had the creature in his stomach? It feels like that."
There are also a few other bits, of the freshman asking others "Did you see ALIEN?" Rent the movie, it is quite good.

    Evil Dead II (1987)
    * Aliens is sorta spoofed in a segment. Nathans Note: I own this flick, and I couldn't really find a direct reference....but there is one part where a certian body part acts/moves like a facehugger....
Also, at there are also an aspect of a Hudson's "Eat this!" and Ash's "Swallow this!" being similar.

    Die Hard (1988)
    * Also mentioned in the ALIENS Music section, and is that during the final scene where the bad, (almost dead), terrorist guy comes out of the building at the end they pump the "Resolution and Hyperspace" track (By James Horner) from Aliens. Micheal Kamen's music isn't used! The Director of Die Hard liked the Temp track of 'Resolution...' better than what Kamen made up...so it stayed! Thanks to Crescent!

    Immediate Family (1989)
    * Luka found this one! : Starring: Glenn Close, James Woods, Mary Stuart Masterson, Kevin Dillon, etc. The characters played by Masterson & Dillon look at their baby, who has just vomited and Dillon comments something like: He's like that droid in (from) Aliens."

    Predator 2 (1990)
    * On the predator's ship, on the "trophy case" there is a supposed Alien Skull. This would indicate an Alien has an endoskeleton....but can an Non-Alien series movie be taken as Canon?
    * Also, as Adam B. elaborates: Bill Paxton (Hudson) stars in the film, and also the sequence near the end where the capture team enters the meat locker to capture the Predator is straight out of Aliens - with the monitors, the "let's get the fuck out of here!" chaos which naturally occurs, etc.

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (1991)
    * From Mick : In 'Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey', there's this scene where they're in Hell, being chased around by nightmares from their guilty subconscious; they run through cramped corridors, chased by monsters, in a scene straight from Aliens. (This happened a lot in movies from the time.)

    Critters 4 (1991)
    * "An Alien Fan" was flipping through some videos at his local blockbuster when he caught this one : The tag line to this classic american film is: "In space they love to hear you scream." I hope I don't have to tell you what they got that from.

    Hot Shots! (1991)
    * From Mick : I also remember a scene in 'Hot Shots!' in the theatre (it's not on the video, though) where Topper Harley (Charlie Sheen) is being asked to rejoin the marines. His response? "I don't believe it! You guys throw me to the wolves, and now you want me to go back out there?!" Even the tone of voice was hers.

    Suburban Commando (1991)
    * Ferro83 nabbed this one, and thanks to JBerry for the accuracy check. :)
In the film Hulk Hogan is returning from a mission, and is requesting new missions. His boss comes up on this tv screen and says that there is a problem. Hogen replies "Now what, bannana headed aliens that bleed acid?"
Also, as Ferro83 mentions (I have to check if these are the same, just misquoted references...anyone want to help?) Near the beginning of the movie, when Ramsey (Hulk Hogan) is requesting missions, he says, "How about a big Bughunt with creatures that Bleed Acid?"

    Terminator 2 (1991)
    * St Just spills the beans : James Cameron Directed this movie, as well as ALIENS. When the battle field is shown at the very beginning, with soldiers running around firing at the tank HKs and the flying HKS, one of the soldiers is firing off a smart gun. If you watch the scene over a few times, you'll spot it. And on the part when the camera follows two soldiers as they walk down the HQs hallway to talk to John Connor, the soldier in the back has a pulse rifle. It has a futuristic looking scope on it, but you can plainly see that it's the same design.
Andriod also clarifies: You could see the underslung grenade launcher and everthing. I saw 2 peeps with the pulse. One is shown for about 1.5 seconds walking behind John Connor. Then an african-american soldier is seen holding one behind him when they show a face shot.
    * The scene in Terminator 2 with Dyson talking to the other scientist (with the pepsi can) about how they got 'it' (the Terminator's hand/arm and chip) is almost shot for shot parallel to the colony sequence in the Aliens Special Edition right down to the line "It's always the same answer...Don't Ask." Thanks to Crescent for finding this!

    There's Nothing Out There (1991)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

Waxwork II: Lost in Time (1992)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

    Patriot Games (1992)
    * James Horner composed the music for both Aliens and Patriot Games. During the scene where the CIA guys are watching the marines destroy a terrorist camp in infra-red via sattelite, a bit of either "dark discovery" or "arrival at LV-426" is used...straight from the Aliens soundtrack. It is uncredited.

    Dave (1993)
    * From Ferro83 : This movie stars Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. There is a scene where Dave ( posing as the President ) is told to put his arms in two mechanical thingys that control these two other mechanical that resemble loader arms. Mmm...Hydraulics? Weaver? Even the color is yellow. (I once caught a fish, *this big*...okay, you'd get it if you've seen the movie. :)

So I married an Axe Murderer (1993)
    * Mike Myers imitates the chestburster with a big piece of meat at a butcher shop.

    Canadian Bacon (1994)
    * Kdawg explains: There's three guys sitting around a campfire, then the black dude is going on and on about how the black guy in movies always dies, then he started mentioning movies and said Alien. [Parker Dies.] Then another guy said in a drunk fashion "hhuuhuhuhuh, maybe your gunna die, uhhuhuhuhuhu"

    Death Machine (1994)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

The Best Movie Ever Made (1994)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists ALIENS as being spoofed... whatever they say!

    Neuf Mois (Nine Months) (1994)
    * From Dimitri: In the movie "9 months", the original french movie, not the sh... with Hugh Grant, near the end of the film, the woman I-can't-remember-her-name feels that her baby moves, so she calls her boyfriend who says, when he sees it : "It... it's Alien!"

    Star Trek: Generations (1994)
    * Jon noticed this, now y'all gotta verify it for me! : I recently bought the dvd of "Star Trek Generations". While I was watching it, I noticed an Aliens reference. Pretty close to the end, where Jean-Luc Picard goes into the "Nexus", he is surrounded by his family around christmas time. All of the children are opening gifts, and one of the boys has a ALIENS EVAC FIGHTER, and is playing with it.

    Toy Story (1995)
    * In the games place, the 'slime dispensers' are comical Alien heads.

    A Close Shave (1995)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

Gojira VS Desutoria (Godzilla VS Destroyah) (1995)
    * Novarix clarifies this reference: The "Gojira VS Desutoria (1995)" reference of "Aliens" indeed exists. "Gojira VS Desutoria" is actually "Godzilla VS Destroyah" in English. The scene that it references is the scene in which the colonial marines are just about to encounter the xenomorphs for the first time. In "Godzilla VS Destroyah" a whole lot of "Crab Destroyahs" (who look a lot like xenomorphs themselves) are hiding out in a factory and Japanese soldiers are sent in to rid of the menace. While the camera angles are a lot like that of "Aliens", the soldiers themselves have high power weapons much like Pulse Rifles or Smart Guns, flame throwers, VP70 looking pistols, and even motion trackers. Along with looking like Giger's aliens, the "Crab Destroyahs" also carry a pair of secondary jaws (toothed tounge, however you like to say it). During a fight with Godzilla Junior a giant "Crab Destroyah" pierces his flesh with it's secondary jaws in a gory move (for a Godzilla movie atleast) that is reminiscent of many of the human deaths during the Alien series.
Here are some links to some pics of a "Crab Destroyah" a.k.a. the Aggrevate stage of Destroyah. Picture 1, Picture 2, Picture 3, and Picture 4. Thanks again to Novarix! :)

Aladdin and the King of Theives (1995)
    * Hey, I just saw this flick, and laughed at this part; At the end, Genie exclaims "Game over, man!" a la Hudson.

    Death Machine (1995)
    * Boldguy reports while buying 'The Crow': They had the double video set (two films on one tape and weird packaging) whereby you get both The Crow and some shit film called Death Machine as well. For a laugh, we wat ched Death Machine...and it became an Alien-spotter's wet-dream. Firstly, it stars Brad Dourif (Doctor Gediman from Alien Resurrection). It features a character named Weyland, as well as another named Yutani, while another character is called Scott Ridley (geddit?). It also features lots of running down corridors, although that's just blatant unoriginality as opposed to being a homage to the films :-)

Aliens : Ride at the speed of fright (1996)
    * This ride is based on the ALIENS movie. I believe this ride was featured on the 'movie magic' tv show once...

    The Arrival (1996)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (1996)
    * It is made in reference to some 'ALIENS' that are trying to disguise themselves (very badly) as humans... ;)

    Taxi (1996)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a reference occured.

    Mimic (1997)
    * The Alien series is referenced.

    Scream 2 (1997)
    * A Discussion on Sequels (of course) and it includes ALIENS.

    Starship Troopers (1997)
    * "Starship Troopers" and "Al|ens" (one being "Al|ens" didn't need nudity to be a good film) has a clear resemblance. 'Hicks' just saw an ad on AOL for a new "Starship Troopers" game. The ad read 'We want you for the intergalactic bughunts of Starship Troopers: Battlespace'
NOTE : Thanks to Osprey688 for this! : Starship troopers was a book written in 1959. James Cameron himself said that he got most of his ideas for making aliens from Starship Troopers. So to say that Aliens was tbe first movie to use the term bughunt is not true. It was used several times in Starship Troopers the book. In one scene the main character is told by a superior officer to not go out and seek medals, just to go out and hunt bugs.

    Project A-ko
    * Owen tells me this : In "the Japanese animated video series "Project A-ko" there was a cameo appearance of an Alien along with an assortment of Hollywood monsters." Thanks Owen (Keep on watching those vids! :)

    Nowhere (1997)
    * The Internet Movie Database lists that a spoof occured of ALIEN.

    Wishmaster (1997)
    * Starchild has this to say : There is a scene where there is this big party, set in Ancient Persia. The King asked the Wishmaster for Earthly Delights, and the Wishmaster turned people into grotesque beings and violent deaths. One person had a creature burst out of his stomach and was gnawing on his wife's arm. The scene reminded me of Kane's death in Alien.

    A Life Less Ordinary (1998)
    * The incredible Skeeter noticed this : It was directed by Danny Boyle, who you know was supposed to direct Resurrection. I watched it again, and I don't know why I didn't notice it before, but towards the end Ewan McGregor tries to escape from an axe wielding henchman by running around underneath the floorboards as the axe comes down right in front of him at every turn, sort of like when Newt is running from the Queen on the Sulaco, and the Queen keeps pulling the grates up wherever Newt goes. Cameron Diaz saves the day, but alas, she is not strapped into a power loader and she does not say "Get away from him you bitch!" or anything to that effect. I think the scene was an intentional nod to Aliens, though.

    Clay Pigeons (1998)
    * [St Just got this beauty!] : This movie stars Jeanne Garofalo and Vince Vaugn. It goes like this; Jeanne is an FBI Agent researching a case involving a serial killer that kills, yeah, you guessed it, women. At the suspect's house, she grabs a video tape off the shelf because she's bored and stumped and wants something to watch back at the hotel. Well, she's watching ALIEN, and it's right up to the part when the chestburster erupts out of Kane's chest, and all of the sudden the tape cuts to shots of the killer and his victims. Another interesting bit to note is that Ridley Scott produced this movie. Groovy.

    Nightwatch (1998)
    * While Ewan is looking at a bottle with some phermeldihyde (sp?) he starts to look closely at it like Burke in ALIENS in the Med-lab. Then, he quickly puts his own hand on his face like a facehugger, and stumbles back! It was sorta short, like 5 seconds, but funny. Also, Brad Dourif was in it, playing a Scientist. Dourif is great! He was also in Alien 4.

    Godzilla (1998)
    * Well, it looks like the megabudget-megabad Godzilla flick had some inspiration from the ALIEN series. Chestburster tells us all : At one point one of the lizard's eggs cracks open sorta reminding me of the 1st Alien promotional trailer.
    * KingNevin also shouts his thoughts : The 'zillas in the movie swim exactly like the ALIENS in Alien Resurrection. And the eggs are mightly similar...
    * An Alien Fan echos similar thoughts : after seeing those Godzilla eggs I believe that Madison Square Garden should have been filled with ten foot face-huggers, not baby Godzillas(which by the way act and attack just like the raptors from Jurassic Park).

National Lampoons' 'Men in White' (1998)
    * Thanks to Blacktint for watching TV! He writes : This TV movie was Shown on Family channel (which is now owned by fox).
    * There is one part where the president is doing that Bishop knife trick and stabs himself.
    * Also, an actor sees a red button with Ripley's name on it, he says who is Ripley, he presses it and a boxing glove extends and hits an alien (not a Giger one) and knocks it out the airlock.

    The Faculty (1998)
    * St Just and Scott E. saw the movie and noticed this : This movie had references to not just the Alien movies, but several other extra-terrestrial orientated movies such as the Thing, Puppet Masters, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Men in Black and E.T...
The first reference is a direct one. While Elijah Wood and the rest of the teenage cast are having a really tense discussion about what to do about the Aliens that are taking over the town, the very sexy Delilah (forget the actresses name) says to Elijah, "Since when did you become Sigourney Weaver?"
Also in the movie was that the way the Aliens infect someone is to shoot a tongue out of their mouth that injects a parasite into a person's body, that takes control over them. On one part, Robert Patrick shot his tongue right into Salma Hayek's head!

    The Guyver
    * From St Just! Here it goes: I was watching MonsterVision with Joe Bob Briggs, one of my favorite shows. During the film, the Guyver's head amulet thingy gets ripped out by a monster, and is accidently swallowed by another monster. A blade suddenly juts out of the monster's chest and slices him from neck to groin, then the Guyver bursts out. At the time, it didn't really occur to me that they were trying to do a homage to Alien, but after the next commercial, Joe Bob was talking, and he said that it was a reference to ALIEN. Well, I'll take his word for it. :) [Credit and thanks to St Just! :) ]

    Analyze This (1999)
    * St Just passed this along: I'm not sure of the exact quote, but it goes something like this;
They're at a meeting with mobsters from all over the country, and one of the opposing mob bosses asks who Billy Crystal is. In a rather funny scene, Billy stands up and babbles on for a while, trying to stall the mobsters from killing him. I'm not exactly sure how the quote goes, or how Billy got to it, but I remember him saying, "And that movie with the creature that came out of that guy's chest and ate the whole goddamn crew on the spaceship." or something like that. Could I be anymore vague? [Thanks St Just!]

    Intinct (1999)
    * [Thanks to Hicks] In one scene Cuba Gooding Jr.'s character is interviewing one of the prisoners about why he committed the murder that got him in there. The man claims he saw the person he killed with a demon. Cuba Gooding Jr. asks him what the demon looked like with the following lines;
Prisoner: "Ever seen the movie "ALIEN" with Sigourney Weaver"
Cuba: "Yeah, the demon looked like a giant insect?"
Prisoner: "No...it looked like Sigourney Weaver"

    Notting Hill (1999)
    * From St Just : In Notting Hill, the Julia Roberts/Hugh Grant film (which I saw at a preview screening.) At one point, Hugh Grant's roommate, Spike, was wearing a shirt that said on it, "I love blood!" and had a chestburster coming out of the front of it. Peter elaborates: The first shirt he comes up with, is an Alien chestbuster t-shirt, one with a 3d modelled baby-alien coming out of his chest with lots of blood.

    The Matrix (DVD) 1999
    * The.Avatar notes: During the audio commentary of the movie, when the sentinels (?) first appear when Neo bursts from his pod, John Gaeta (or was it Zach Staenberg), that the design of the sentinel was one of the few good villian creature designs since Geiger's Alien and Alien 2 (that's what he said, I know, Aliens). He said that a lot of new creature designs lacked the detail that Geiger's Alien possessed.

    Titus 1999
    * Crescent sends in the scoop: I saw the film Titus last night and found that Elliot Goldenthal composed the music for the film. Anyway, just as the climax of the movie occurs and one of the characters jumps up on the banquet table to attack another character, the tribal rock part of Alien 3's "Wreckage and Rape" music kicks in full blast. It is unmistakeable. FoxFireJ2 also adds: This remix track was played at the very end of the movie, during the film's big climax. You can listen to it by Clicking Here (choose the Alien3TitusRemix.mp3).

    Galaxy Quest 1999
    * From Cindycated: This one's pretty obvious for Sigourney Weaver fans. In GALAXY QUEST, in the scene where Tim and Sigourney were running through an air duct to manually turn off the switch, Sigourney says, "ducts--why are there always ducts?" [Of course, in both Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3, the air shaft / Air duct / Ventilation Shaft etc. were used.]

    Free Enterprise (1999)
    * This is a very odd comedy about sci-fi fans (in particular Trekkies) in one scene a couple of them are talking in a car when one of them brings up a special box set of "Aliens" resulting in the nextlines "I wish they do one for the third movie" "Yeah, your the only one" (or something like that) [Thanks to Hicks!]

    Zoolander (2001)
    * Pvt. Hudson submits this great ref: I found a movie reference to aliens. In the movie ZOOLANDER, there is a deleted scene where Hansel (Owen Wilson) is talking to Winona Ryder. He comments on how he was shocked when he found out she was a droid in Alien Resurrection.

 Music References

Please Click Here to visit a very impressive master list of artists who have sampled ALIENS, including the song, what was sampled, and other bits. This is pretty much the biggee list for most ALIEN music 'sample' references.
    * To just nab the ALIEN series bit, click here.

    Bantha Fodder
An Australian band (from Brisbane I think) called 'Bantha Fodder' released a song last year called 'Bill Packs a Ton' which is about (who else) Bill Paxton. I've heard it a couple of times, but as it's a thrashy punk sort of song, it's difficult to understand the lyrics. However at the end, there is a sample of Hudson saying his "Game over man! Game over! What the fuck are we gonna do know? What are we gonna do?" diatribe. [Thanks to Scott and .au! :) ]

Blade (+ LOTS of other movies)
    * Stefan Otto passed along a quick note regarding the the movie "Blade" and its' use of the same soundeffect as the hypersleep pods in Aliens. Actually, this sound has been used before, in other movies. The most noticable soundeffect that was used in ALIENS is the 'door shutting' sound, which has been used on tonnes of films, and even computer games. Cool sound!

    Carcass
    * As Sean reports : there's an HR Giger sculpture on the cover of Carcass's album Heartwork. The.avatar passed along a picture, Click Here to see it!

Circle of Dust Album - Circle of Dust (1995 reissue).
    * Track 4 'Rational Lies' Opens with a sample of the Gateway Station nurse in Aliens saying "bad dreams again?"
    * Track 10 'Parasite' This song includes a sample of Apone in Aliens saying "Watch your fire and check your targets" midway through the song. It also contains a sample of Apone saying "Look into my eye."[Thanks to Boldguy!]

    Cleaner Album - 'Solaris'
    * Track 1 'Gattaca (Schizo)': Opens with samples from Alien3 of the electronic noises and sighs Bishop makes when he's re-activated and subsequently de-activated.
    * Track 4 'Gattaca (Reprise)' : features some sampled sound effects from the EEV CAT-scan in Alien3.
    * Track 8 'Raster': opens with a sample of a door opening in the Hadleys Hope Colony from Aliens. Super thanks to Boldguy!]
[Nathan's note: This is a very popular sample]

    Cleen Single - 'The Voice'
    * Track 4 '0361 / electrocity festival version': Features an interesting sample... it features almost the entire funeral sequence of Hicks and Newt & the birth of the beast in Alien3 ... only in German. These have clearly been taken from the German dubbed version, but the music and yelps of the dog are unmistakable. Big thanks to Boldguy!]

    Coroner
    * Thanks to Ryan H. for listening to thrash :) : The Swiss Thrash Metal band "Coroner" used a soundbite on their album "Grin" from the second film. At the beginning of a song, the listener can hear Hudson's "express elevator" bit above grinding guitars. Killer!

    Corporation
    * Corporation, from the album "Breed". Adam B. actually wrote this album! (A true Alien fan. :) Here is what he has to report: This album was released internationally so it does count (only a very limited run). However, there is an Aliens theme running through the whole album, including the artwork. The first track is called "Terrorform" and is about an Alien, with samples from John Carpenter's "The Thing", and the title track contains samples from an old Outer Limits show about a warrior "hatched and raised from an egg". One sample of the Alien Queen screech was used a few times, but so distorted by effects that you probably wouldn't recognise it. [big thanks to Adam!]

    Daft Punk
    * In the video of 'Da Funk,' when the dog buys the book, the bookseller and the customer are talking about a scene from ALIEN.

    Decoded Feedback Album - 'EVOLution'
    * Track 'Infect Me' : Uses a sample of Vasquez screaming "Let's rock!" and a small burst of gunfire in this song. [Thanks to cutedge]

    Future Sounds of London (FSOL)
    * Ott, a super-nice dude from Europe; had this to say:
Some info to Aliens reference hunters (Hi Nathan =)... Recently I got a hold of a very 'cyberish' CD album named ISDN from Future Sound of London (FSOL)...published by Sony in '95 if I'm not mistaken? I liked the style and overall feeling, but most importantly, I noticed some cool references to Aliens - especially track no. 2 'The far out son of lung and the ramblings fo a madman' (nice name in fact ;)...Some ambient humming are at the beginning and suddenly we can hear Gorman saying "Let's see what we can see...everbody online, looking good...", after what the beat starts (beat itself fits to bad nightmare ;). After some 'rambling' track 3 starts "Appendage" - like the name says 'solution" for the track 2 (quiet and light) and the track ends with Bishop saying his famous line "Not bad...for a human", although distorted, but a true Aliens fan can say L. Henriksen said that...

Thanks Ott! As well, another Ridley Scott movie got sampled by FSOL; on their song 'dead cities' (I think) the vocal thing is from 'Blade Runner.'

    Front 242
    * Front 242, album "Front By Front". As Adam B. comments: This album has a number of samples from Alien and Aliens, although all are sound effects and hard to recognise. One is the unmistakable sound heard outside the door as Dallas accesses the room containing Mother.
    * Front 242, song "Tyranny For You". Adam B. says: Ok, I found the lyrics for this song, and listened to it again. Hearing it again, I don't think it is about the alien queen, although there are several lines in the lyrics which are familiar. What this song does use, however, is a sample of an alien or an alien queen screeching - it's very distinctive even though it's been modified. And the I remember was "acid reign", although couple that with lines about being disemboweled and left twitching, and you have to wonder!
    * In the remix of 'Headhunter' Front Line Assembly (on the 'Headhunter 2000' CD), a clip near the begining of the song annouces "Your attention please, security breach" from Alien Resurrection. [Thanks to cutedge]

    Frontline Assembly Album - 'Implode'
    * Track 1 'Retribution': Actually features almost the entire track from the Alien Resurrection soundtrack, 'Post Op.' in the background. It sounds awesome.
    * Track 4 'Synthetic Forms': Includes the introduction to the music played in Aliens when we first see Gatweway station.
    * Track 5 'Falling': Includes a sample of Dr. Gediman stating "We've remade you, we've cloned you" over a background of Aliens' motion tracker pulses. [Thanks to Boldguy!]
    * Much thanks to C. Hamel for digging up this one: On Front Line Assemby's album "Caustic Grip", I don't remember the name of the song, but I think it's track #1, it starts off with a line taken from Aliens: "Her bio read-outs are in the green"

    Frontline Assembly Album - 'Millienium'
    * Track 8: Kevin T. Reports: In the Front Line Assembly CD "Millienium" There is an ALIEN reference. Track 8 starts with Bishop's voice, from the scene in Alien3 where he's on the trash heap, and he says "I'd rather be nothing." Also, I'm not sure but I think track 10 has eerie screams sampled from Alien3.

    Giger Art
    * Thanks to Ryan H. for this one! : H.R. Giger's artwork has been used for a number of Metal album covers, including "Danzig III: How the Gods Kill" (which features 1975's "The Master and Margarita") and Celtic Frost's monumental "To Mega Therion". Giger is a favorite of the metal community, and both paintings used practically have "aliens" in them -- as many of Giger's paintings do!

Haujobb Album - 'Homes & Gardens'
    * Track 1 'Haujobb's State': Includes a distorted yet recognisable sample from Aliens, of the salvage team saying "bio-readouts are all in the green, looks like she's alive. There's goes our salvage guys."
    * Track 3 'Yearning': Includes a HUGE sampled section from Aliens in which the marines are ambushed in the nest, all the way from Hudson saying " I got signals, I got readings, infront and behind" to "Dietrich, Crowe, sound off!"
    * Track 8 'Slugbait' Opens with Bill Paxton in Predator 2 saying "the doors swings both ways my ass" followed by repeated samples of Ripley in Alien3 saying "We have no weapons of any kind?"
    * Track 10 'Homes and Gardens (MY-1)' Opens with Ripley in Aliens saying "Now you lie here and have a nap" with Newt replying with "Don't want to, have scarey dreams!".
    * Track 12 'Medieaval' Opens with distorted screams from Kevin in Alien3, and Dillon screaming "Kevin, KEVIN!!!" These two samples, notebly the screams, are repeated for the entire length of the song. Also appearing within this track is a sample of Bishop II in Alien3 stating "We can't allow it to live, everything we know would be in jeopardy." Before any other soundclips in 'Mediaeval', there is a soundclip of Bishop in Alien3 saying "You still can have a life, children, and most important, you'll know it's dead. Let me help you." [Thanks to Cutedge]
    * Track 13 'Homes and Gardens (Optimized v1.2)' This is a remix of track 10, however its samples of Ripley and Newt are slightly longer, featuring both "Well I bet Casey doesn't have scarey dreams" and followed later by "....'cos she's just a piece of plastic". Distorted samples of Newt saying "scarey dreams" are repeated within the track, as does the electronic pulse of the rebo-sentry cannons from Aliens Special Edition. [Thanks to Boldguy!]
    * Track 'Kilo-Cycle Respirator' : Uses a sample of the chase scene from Alien3. [Thanks to Cutedge]

Haujobb Album - 'Frames: The Remix Album'
    * Track 8 'Sepsis' Features distorted background atmospherics of the choirboy vocals from the Alien 3 main theme.
    * Track 10 'A4 - Main Title' This is of course the much publicised unreleased version the the Alien Resurrection main theme the group recorded. [Thanks to Boldguy!]

    Jamiroquai
    * On the album "Travelling Without Moving"
LEMpilot noticed this : I believe it's the first track on the record, called, "Virtual Insanity." (It could be another track, but it's definitely on this album.) Listen carefully to the rhythm samples. There's a sound byte from the original computer room from "Alien." It's the chopped, stuttered sort of electronic voices that are heard when Dallas enters to use the terminal. It's short, but it's definitely there, and hardcore fans will know it when they hear it. Thanks LEM!

    MDK Concept Video
    * Thanks to the Scottish Pufferfish! :) If you watch the beginning of the MDK concept video, at the part where the hero is skydiving, you can faintly hear with the grinding rock track, the third movment of "the entrapment" (the bit where the alien kills Jude) from the Alienł soundtrack. Anyone else think this snippit wasn't exactly legitimate? [thanks Pufferfish! :) ]

    Ministry
    * Fabian has this to pass along! : Another band which has used much of Alien samples is Ministry. They used Hudsons "c`mon motherfuckers" in the song "You know who you are" and much other samples on their album Psalm 69.

    Mortal Off
    * trekchic found this one : There is a sample of Bishop saying "Not bad...for a human" at the end of a song called "Promulgate" by the industrial/hypersoul band Mortal off of their 1993 Intense Records release "Fathom". Throughout the song there are also a number of Blade Runner samples. They have a number of other sci-fi samples in other songs, including a few from the Star Trek movies on their debut release "Lusis". The band also records under the name Fold Zandura with a slightly less industrial and more dance oriented groove. Check 'em out!

    A Rap Video (1996)
    * Muchmusic airs music videos in Canada. Every year they have a show 'Fromage' (French for 'cheese') featuring the best of the worst videos sent to them over the year. In 'Fromage 96', one video, the intro 'minute' of music was straight from the ALIEN 3 soundtrack by Elliot Goldenthal. Serious copyright infringement. The video tried to go for the 'epic rap video style' but failed (miserably.) I can't remember what the artist or song was, but it did involve a pearl necklace being broken in the first minute if that rings any bells with ya'll.....and yes, the ALIEN 3 soundtrack bit was the best part of music in the video. :)

    Rammstein (2002)
    * This is a review of a song called Ich Will from Metal Hammer Magazine (UK) - July 2002: Rammstein - Ich Will
"In Krauter space nobody can hear you scream. This is a bit like Sugarbabes 'Freak Like Me' except its a lot more German and much much funnier. Have they got mullets? I bet they've got mullets. And moustaches. A really tight little leather. Phwooar!"
(Errors copied as they are in the magazine) It seems to be a pun on the alien slogan, I thought it was quite funny regardless. [big thanks to skylift!]

Salvo Album - 'The Cult of Speed'
    * The opening track, 'Face', opens with a sample of Vasquez in Aliens screaming "LETS ROCK" before exploding into the main track. [Thanks to Boldguy!]

    the Spice Girls (1998)
    * As Stomper recounts [sky is a uk tv channel] : Did anyone see that awful ad for the spicegirls concert on sky?
Did you notice the two references to the aliens films?
The bit when the four walk towards the camera, into the ship is just like the bit out of alien res when the pirate crew board the Auriga.
No. 2 is were they call the ships computer Mother.

    They Might Be Giants (1986)
An Alien Fan noticed this reference, from TMBG initial release on Bar None Records!
This is one of my favorite groups, but I had never had my hands on their first two albums. It wasn't until recently I got the first album from the library. The CD booklet has a real odd drawing on it. On the cover a parade of all kinds of stuff, like a fish bowl on wheels, a beer, a vacuum...too much to list, are going down the highway. On the back of the CD booklet the picture continues, and you see they are going to the "TMB Center" (TMB=They Might Be). In that plaza/mall there is the TMB Cinema, which has a sign that says Aliens on it. There's also Rambo, Top Gun, Psycho 2, etc. etc. This artwork can also be found in their double CD called "Then: The Early Years", which is their first two albums and more in one collection.

    Under Midnight Album - 'Void'
The little known band Under Midnight sampled Alien3 in various songs on their album 'Void'. [Thanks to cutedge for all these!]
    * Track 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' uses the quote from Dillon in Alien 3 "God will take care of me now sister"
    * Track 'Phreak' has an Alien 3 sample of Did somebody do this to you?"
    * Track 'Way Up Here' has Andrews saying "Ashes to ashes, dust... to dust" and Dillon saying " He's crazy, he's a fool"

    Universal Studios (Hollywood)
    * Bishop's Countdown, off the ALIENS soundtrack, is one of the most popular ques to be re-used in other trailers/attractions etc. Even for other STUDIOS! As Newborn0 finds : At Universal Studios Hollywood, Bishop's Countdown is used extensively in the Backdraft attraction. The attraction consists of three rooms, the first two are small theatre settings. On a large monitor they play scenes from Backdraft, with interviews of Ron Howard and a few stars, special effects secrets, and a tribute to real firefighters. In both theatres, Bishop's Countdown is played during particularly climactic parts of Backdraft. In the last room, the audience stands on platform overlooking a recreation of the chemical warehouse from the movie. There's a huge display of fire and explosions as an office fire chain reacts into a massive inferno. Although the explosions are extremely loud, Bishop's Countdown can still be heard in between the blasts at the end. [Nathan's note: James Horner was the 1st choice to score 'Backdraft' but could not....Ron Howard almost always uses Horner in his movies as well.]

    'Weird Al' Yanovic
    * Mick noticed that... : in the 'Weird Al' Yankovic song "Stuck in a Closet with Vanna White" there is a reference. The lyris go like this;
"I'm 30 minutes late for my algebra test, Then a funny alien jumps out of my chest, Then I'm falling and falling, and I guess you know the rest....."
Hey, this _is_ 'Weird Al' Yankovic.

Wumpscut Album - any/all of them!
    * The band's logo is that of the Weyland Yutani corporation. [Thanks to Boldguy!]
    * Album 'Evil Young Flesh' Track 'Flucht' : This song opens with a bit of music from Alien3 and one of the prisoners screaming "Get this fucking thing off of me!" [Thanks to Cutedge] Skylift adds: On this song from the Böses Junges Fleisch album, 'Flucht' not only has a sound byte in the begining with a prisoner screaming "ahh, get this fucking thing off of me, ahh, my god, let me go~, ahh, no~" it also has a segment with Dillon saying "There arn't any promises" and then again with "some get called, some get saved" tacked on after it, and finally a clip of Bishop saying "it was with us all the way" and then repeating "it was with us" several more times, then again at the very end of the song. More info: Wumpscut is also spelled with a ":" infront and at the end, but since it is not a valid character when naming computer files and folder it rarely gets spelled that way.

Books References (Paper, Comics, Novels, etc.)

    Bloom County
    * Hicks sends in a report:
In one of the comics where Rosebud the basselope was pregnant and feeling depressed when talking to Oliver about it the diagloue is as follows
ROSEBUD : I feel a little wired having something inside me
OLIVER : Ever seen the movie "ALIEN?"
    ROSEBUD : No
    OLIVER : Good

    Dick Tracy (comic strip) 1987
    * Thanks to Ferro83! In 1987, There was a Dick Tracy comic in which Sam talks about the amazing things being done on the big screen. "Everything from Aliens poppin out o' people's chest's to guys turnin' into werewolves!"

Dilbert: "Bring Me The Head Of Willy The Mailboy" by Scott Adams
    * From Dwayne Hicks : In this book there is a set of comics in which Dilbert learns a convict is hiding in his torso from an appendectomy one of the strips had an interesting ref; here's the dialogue:
Dr. Fishlips : A patient from the prison disappeared after your appendectomy.
Policeman: "Tiny Tom" is a master of escape. We think he crawled into your torso during the operation.
Dilbert : That's stupid. How would he get out?
Policeman : Ever see the movie "ALIEN"?

The Far Side by Gary Larson (Comic strip)
    * "Mom! Bobby Joe's playing in the Turkey!"
    I can't explain! (Very Funny!)
    * Corp. Hicks reads this awesome publication : In one comic we see a teacher looking over her class thinking "miserable little monsters" and one of these monster students is the Xenomorph.

FoxTrot by Bill Amend (comic strip)
    * Shown on May 15 1998, a storyline involves Peter and Jason deciding whether to rent ALIEN Resurrection or Austin Powers. Groovey, baby!
    * Thanks to Ferro83 for this one! In Foxtrot by Bill Amend, August 23,1995 Jason's Screenplay has a scene where The Terminator, A Xenomorph, and a T-Rex move in to attack his Sister, Paige Fox (by the way, Jason's Screenplay was rejected by Disney).
    * The October 31st, 1999 edition of Foxtrot had this great reference, as described by Hicks: The scene shows Jason and Marcus trick-or-treating as aliens (they're wearing plastic alien head above their own) when they're told to take one piece, the heads then shoot double-jaws at the candy then they're seen walking away Jason says "Aliens never take just one" and the inner mouth has a large in the double-jaw whereas Marcus only has a chunk of sweater in his, "I only got a chunk of his sweater."

    Sluggy Freelance
    * Thanks to Philo! : The internet comic _Sluggy Freelance_ has a reference where the two main characters (Torg and Riff) get sent into space and onto a ship with an Alien-looking alien stalking the crew. When they finally get back, the alien is brought along and eventually becomes a regular character, Aylee, who is Torg's secretary. Go to www.sluggy.com to worship the comic.

    Alpha Flight
    * Thanks to Mick: In 'Alpha Flight' (v1) # 56, a member of the team has turned into a spaceship (uh... you had to be there...) The rest of the team is running around fighting creatures called 'Bedlamites' - which should look _very_ familiar to fans of the 'Aliens' series.

"Batman versus Predator" (the Collected Edition) (Graphic Novel)
    * 'An Alien Fan' bagged himself this one : In the forward to this DC/Dark Horse graphic novel crossover, writer David Gibbsons mentions how in comic book crossovers nobody likes it when one of the two fighting goodguys loses. So he notes how when you "put the creatures from the movies Aliens and Predator together in the same comic book. Win or lose, they both won." Now, this may seem like a reference to the Aliens comic books and not the movies, but he says "the movies Aliens and Predator". He's referring to Dark Horse Comics getting characters from the MOVIES.

    "Predator: Captive" (One-shot) 1998
    * This is from the ALIEN comic gurus Darkhorse Comics! An Alien Fan noticed : A dark corporation captures a Predator. On page 7 or so, a dormant or dead facehugger can be seen in a cryogenic tube in the office of the corporation's leader. It was nothing more than a joke the comic book creators made. The facehugger is not seen again.

    Carmen McCallum (Comic - French)
    * Dimitri nabs: In the second volume of a french comic called "Carmen McCallum", you can see a face-hugger in one of the tubes in the background.

    Don Martin
    * Thanks to Bjorn! DON MARTIN, notorious comic artist made a small series about alien 3.
-one day in aliensville: where a guy sells fun-teeth having a "chew and snap" function with two pairs of teeth
-a movie director asking the alien how he would play the next scene (alien is vomiting and the director is holind an umbrella)
-Ripley giving birth to...(no ,not an alien, but an escaping jailbird digging through her stomach with a fork-bleeeeaargh!)

Johnny The Homicidal Maniac (comic book)
All these from Hicks (thanks!) :
    * In the first issue, in JTHM's house there's a poster of a xenomorph's head, underneath it says "smile"
    * In issue two in one panel there's a poster for "Alien" (It's the egg one) and later one for "Aliens" (a pic of the xenomorph)
    * In issue five they start showing all these generally weird pictures one is a xenomorph with some clocks (one looking like a subsitute for an eye)

    Gunnm (Comic - Japanese)
    * - In a japanese comic (Manga ?) called Gunnm, there is somewhere a facehugger, I can't remember where, but if I find it, I'll scan it. [Thanks to Dimitri!]

    Spawn (Comic)
    * Rico Suave has this great reference: In the Spawn Comic (#10 I think, written by Frank Miller), after a huge gang fight, there's only one guy left, named Byron, who starts yelling about how he's the greatest, etc, etc., then spawn says "Byron, let's play Alien", and then teleports inside of him and rips out. [Useless fact from Nathan: The creator of Spawn and artist extroidinaire, 'Todd McFarlane,' went to the same high school as myself; "William Aberhard Senior High School." hehe. ]

    Zéro Absolu (Comic - French)
    * In another comic, called "Zéro Absolu" (absolute zero), the main characters are a squad of Marines sent on a secret mission in a scientific base. They sleep in cryotubes during the space flight, they're awaken by a computer which lists their name, and they eventually find the base (almost) empty. Also, one of the marines says : "I don't like these dark corridors, they make me think to those old sci-fi movies, like Aliens"... I don't know the full story and it's just a summary as I've read only the first volume... [Thanks Dimitri!]

    Uncanny X-Men
    * St Just found a great reference from the comic book, 'Uncanny X-Men #364'. On page 7, while the rest of the X-Men are fighting this giant robotic creature, Nightcrawler thinks, "Mein Gott! No sooner does the group Excalibur disband, freeing me to join the X-Men, then we encounter this walking escapee from 'ALIEN'!"
    * Thanks to Mick for this : In Uncanny X-Men #245. The basic story is about a huge fleet of aliens that come to Earth and take over Australia. And nobody notices. It's a funny spoof of DC's Invasion! mini-series. Anyway, in the throne-room of the master aliens, you see creatures from many movies, including the Xenomorph, and the Alien Queen. The xenomorph keeps saying 'Lunch?'

    Wolverine
    * This is in the comic book Wolverine, #83, on page 23. (Credit to St Just!) The issue centers around Wolverine being trapped in a complex with Heather and James Hudson of Alpha flight, a few scientists, and two hunters, while a giant wolf like creature is running around. One of the scientists volunteers to try and fight the thing, called the Hunter in Darkness, with a "Freight Loader Suit", which looks remarkably like the power loader in 'ALIENS'. When James Hudson asks "you're going to use the freight loader suit against the Hunter in Darkness?", one of the hunters replies, "Why not? It worked for Sigourney Weaver!" (Beauty St Just!).

"2010: Odyssey Two" by Arthur C. Clarke
    * Without a doubt they are talking about the film ALIEN in the upcoming excerpt. Clarke may not have gotten the rights to put the title of the movie in his book, so he had to go about it without mentioning it. Page 117 :
"Max," he said, in tone of deadly seriousness, "whatever happens-please don't go chasing off after the ship's cat."
For a few milliseconds, Brailovsky was thrown off guard: he almost answered: "I do wish you had'nt said that, Walter," but checked himself in time. That would have been too damning an admission of weakness, instead he replied, "I'd like to meet the idiot who put that movie in our library.'
"Katrina probably did it to test everyone's psychological balance. Anyway, you laughed your head off when we screened it last week."
Brailovsky was silent; Curnow's remark was perfectly true. But that had been back in the familiar warmth and light of Leonov, among his friends--not in a pitch-black, freezing derelict, haunted by ghosts. No matter how rational one was, it was all too easy to imagine some implacable alien beast prowling these corridors, seeking whom it might devour.
    Thanks to Ryan!)

"Brand New Cherry Flavour" by Todd Grimson
Skeeter read the book, and gives us these bits :
    * The shaman tells Lisa Nova about his jaguar-human children who "killed Xtah on their way out of her belly....sort of like ALIEN, you know."
    * Here's the exchange between Lisa Nova and Tavinho before they go out to kill zombies:
Lisa : "Do you remember the first ALIEN movie?"
    Tavinho : "Yeah."
Lisa : "Well, when Ripley activates the launch sequence in the escape shuttle, the message that appears on the screen is the same one that appears in the hovercraft police car near the beginning of 'BLADE RUNNER'. It's 'ENVIRON CTR PURGE 24556 DR 5.' That just stuck in my head."
    -short paragraph-
"Ripley," (Lisa repeated, the name cracking her up. It was a joke to her-the idea that she should model herself on Ripley, that that was who she'd have to be like.")
Aint that cool? Best bit of dialogue in the book, no kidding.

"The Bridge" by John Skipp & Craig Spector
    * As St Just reports: Here's a reference from The Bridge, a horror novel by splatterpunk novelists John Skipp & Craig Spector. On page 271, 6th paragraph down. The character Gary is flipping the channels on his television.
".....The Home Shopping Network offered more junk to people who couldn't afford it; posion preened on MTV; Marilyn pouted on Cinemax; HBO and Showtime ran simultaneous screenings of 'Aliens.' Normal, normal, normal."

"Reliquary" By Lincoln Childs and Douglas Preston
    * This book is the sequel to the 'RELIC.' During a part of the book I just read, the main star, Margo Green, is at a shooting range doing some target practice. When she's about to fire, she says she gets into a "weaver" stance. I doubt this has anything to do with it, but I know since Siggy Weaver is supposed to be the epitome of action heroines, it just seemed like her stance might have been based on Ripley. [Nathans note : Weaver was actually a member of an anti-gun organization during the making of ALIENS and does not like violence.....this is a great reference, if it is an actual ALIEN related one!] Thanks to St Just.
Shawn1010 gives some facts 'bout this 'stance' : The Weaver stance reference is actually the standard stance you see on police shows (one hand grips the gun while the other hand is cupped underneath the shooting hand to steady the gun). I'm not sure of the guy's first name, but the guy who developed the stance was a former police officer named Weaver (hence the name).

Resident Evil 2: City of the Dead
    * [Bug Stomper reports:] There's a part when Leon and Ada are at the Police Station's cell room and a guy has an embryo forced down his throat which later bursts from his chest. The defenition of it was exactly as the one of the chestburster such as its small size, long tail, and sharp teeth. It was even mentioned as it being, "A chest-bursting parasitic creature, straight out of a sci-fi movie..."
    * On page 174-175 Ada shouts,"Get back!" A thing the size of a big man's fist erupted from Bertolucci's chest, a gore drenched thing that opened a tiny black hole of a mouth and squealed shrilly, reavealing nubs of sharp red teeth. It took off at top speed towards the door. (A Chestburster?) [Thanks to QueenAlien]

    "Danse Macabre" by Stephen King
    * This is the book Stephen King analyzed the horror genre with. He mentions Alien four times in it. I don't have to be too specific about where it's metioned in this non-fiction because it's in the index. Also the book was writing in 1981 so Alien was the only one out at the time. Thanks for finding it 'An Alien Fan!'

    "Dreamcatcher" by Stephen King
    * There is an odd variation of the chestburster present (all the characters in the book think so anyway) only it has small eyes and it comes out of - the ass. (No kidding here, Stephen King is wierd) There are almost redundant comparisons be all the characters to the Chestburster in the aliens flicks. Also, the typical grey, big eyed aliens of the book bring a virus to earth which all the soldiers named the "Ripley Virus" For reasons i've forgotten. [Thanks to Ian M. for sending all that info in!]

    "IT" By Stephen King
    * From St Just : I can't remember what the exact reference is, seeing as my copy of the novel has dissapeared, but I can tell you it's on page 1000, I think in the last paragraph. (I checked, and St Just is right!) Here is the parragraph:
"What do you hear?" she asked Bill, trying to look everywhere as the match in Richie's hand burned down, expecting to see some new surprise come lurching of flying out of the darkness. Rodan, anyone? The alien from that gruesome movie with Sigourney Weaver? A great scuttering rat with orange eyes and silver teeth? But there was nothing - only the dusty smell of the dark, and, far away, the thunder of running water, as if the drains were filling up."

Legion (Exorcist 3) by William Peter Blatty
    * St Just read this: This is from the book Legion(Exorcist 3) by William Peter Blatty. On page 47, second paragraph, a direct quote: "You saw that horror movie called ALIEN?"
Brad Dourif has another connection to the ALIEN series, beyond playing Dr. Gediman in Alien Resurrection. As Hicks points out in the film version ("Exorcist III") Brad Dourif's the voice of the Gemini Killer.

Only You Can Save Mankind by Terry Pratchett
    * Michael Rush Notes: There's some good homage in a book by Terry Pratchett, 'Only You Can Save Mankind'. There's a girl in it who fantasises about being Sigourney Weaver, so when she imagines a spaceship it looks just like the Nostromo, etc.

    Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard
    * As St Just points out, this book was made into the movie "Jackie Brown," written and directed by Quentin Tarintino. On Page 223, third paragraph;
Ordell said, "It was like that monster in the movie 'Alien', the one that ate people? He's looking at Sigourney Weaver in her underwear and it don't mean shit to him. You want to yell at him, "That's Sigourney Weaver in her underwear, man. What's wrong with you?"

Star Trek: Movie Memories (by William Shatner)
    * The book Star Trek: Movie Memories by William Shatner has a picture from Star trek 6 with an Alien bleeding. The caption says "In space, no one can hear you bleed." A quick little reference to the film ALIEN. Thanks to An Alien Fan.

"The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice
    * Chris Brown sent me the following passage containing a tidbit of an ALIEN reference in the novel;
"Take Ridley Scott's ALIEN for instance, where the little monster is right out of the chest of a man, a squealing fetus who then retains its curious shape, even as it grows large, gorging itself upon human victems"
She's a big fan of Ridley Scott & James Cameron. I know she mentions the Terminator & Blade Runner in the book as well as in "Tale of the Body Theif."

Thanks Chris! Also folks, James Cameron has the rights to An Anne Rice novel..."the Mummy" I think.

    "Dragon's Tears" by Dean Koontz
    * St Just read this book, and grabbed this info (Thanks man!) from it...;
there's a man that has pyschic abilities that enable him to manipulate objects and things. During the book, he uses sand to create several different people, animals, and creatures that look and act exactly like they are imitating. At one point in the book, when this man is thinking back into the past, he remembers a time when he created a creature "inspired by the Alien in the movie ALIEN," to kill a group of men."
Evan also read the book, and sent in a quotation from it (Thanks!). The character's name is 'Bryan.' :
"He had once created a golem inspired by the movie 'Alien,' and used it to savage the vagrants in an encampment of ten homeless people under a Los Angeles freeway overpass. His intention had been to slaughter two of them, lightning quick, and leave the others with the memory of his power and merciless judgment. But then he became excited by their abject terror, at the inexplicable manifestation of that movie monster. He thrilled to the feel of his claws ripping through their flesh, the heat of spurting blood, the rank steaming gush of disembowelment, the crack of bones as fragile as chalk sticks in his monstrous hands. The screams of the dying were piercingly shrill at first but became weak, tremulous, erotic; they surrendered their lives to him as lovers might have surrendered, so exhausted by the intensity of their passion that they succumbed only with sighs, whipsers, shudders. For a few minutes he 'was' the creature that he had created, all razored teeth and talons, spiked spine and lashing tail, having forgotten about his real body in which his mind actually reposed. When he regained his senses, he discovered he had killed all ten men beneath the overpass and stood in a charnel house of blood, eviscerated torsos, severed heads and limbs. "

Games References (Video, Nintendo, Sega, Saturn, Playstation, Computer, etc.)

    Abuse (Computer game)
    * Mark got this one : It is sort of an aliens vs predetor clone. The monsters in the game look alot like aliens and you are also against a mysterious company wich they dont say the name of. In the game the aliens are a little diffrent: they have guns mounted on their backs but the game still kicks ass!

    Alien (Spectrum / Commodore 64 game) - 1984
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Alien - Released many, many years ago by a company long since extinct for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64, the game was based on the movie Alien and had you moving crew members around the Nostromo in a top-down view trying to find the Alien, and later trying to prep the Narcissus for escape (you even had to find Jones, described as a "necessary biological lifeform" for the shuttle to operate). If you met the Alien, you were treated to a (for the time) rather realistic animation of the Alien sitting down, tail twitching, and looking menacing. This game is still available to play using a Spectrum emulator available on the Internet. This was published by Argus Press Software in 1984. You can download it from Here, along with Aliens and Aliens USA (both published by Electric Dreams Software). You also need to download a Sinclair ZX Spectrum emulator to play them (e.g. see Here.) [Amazing work Adam!]

    Alien Breed (Computer Game)
    * Chris spouts forth this knowledge: This Amiga game was produced by Team-17. "I have Alien Breed Special Edition which is basically a Gauntlet style top-down shoot-em-up in which the aliens are exactly like those in the film, and also include 'facehuggers' and variations thereof. Also as you progress into the game you reach 'bosses' which resemble alien queens etc. and also a region in which the walls and floor resemble an xenomorph hive environment. The mission briefing for this area reads something like 'An acrid smell hits the back of your throat as you first examine your new surroundings, and within seconds of surveying your surroundings an icy hand grips your heart as you realise exactly what you are dealing with here...' Team 17 also produced Alien Breed 2 and Alien Breed Tower Assault, featuring the same enemies. No references were ever made to the films directly however, or to giveaways like human-hosts etc."

Aliens (Spectrum / Commodore 64 game)
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Aliens - Another Spectrum / C64 game, it's also downloadable and playable through an emulator (e.g. Z80). This game rocked in its time, but it's pretty simplistic now. You had to guide several marines including Ripley through the LV-426 colony to find the Queen. Alien drones scuttled around which you had to shoot with a pulse rifle, face-huggers appeared later, and Alien "secretions" started to appear on the walls. There's even a sequence where, if you let the face-huggers and eggs multiply, they "cut the power" and all the lights go out!

    Aliens: USA Edition (Spectrum)
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Aliens: USA Edition - Another Spectrum game which was released by Electric Dreams Software. It was an attempt to create a game closer to the film than the previous game, but it ended up being a mish-mash of different gameplay styles which just wasn't remotely scary, unlike the first game.

    Aliens VS Predator
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Aliens vs Predator - Well, this is a pretty obvious one! You don't have this listed, however. It's the ultimate way to finally play Aliens (the movie) - it rocks very hard, although it's pretty tough. The fact you can't save mid-level really adds a huge amount of fear to the proceedings - brilliantly scary, and definitely worth waiting 15 years for.

    Comix Zone (Sega Genesis)
    * K. Rian Miller II says: In the sega genesis game, Comix Zone, there are little monsters that resemble facehuggers. You frst see them in the second level (or page). They are referred to as crawlers, and come out of weird things that are suspended from the ceiling. These things that lay them look like the aliens secreted resin.

    Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun
    * Johner 33 says: In Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun The Orca Fighter looks alot like the dropship in aliens. And check out the gun this trooper is holding It's even called a "Pulse Rifle" I think. Well, just though I should pass that along. To see the site with the pics just Click Here! [Thanks Johner!]

Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero Hour
    * StrifE noticed this: When you play against the Air Force General "Ace" Granger, one of his taunts is: "You've lost a lot of buildings, General. Where you planning on using harsh language now?". This is similar to the taunt said by Frost in ALIENS.

Conker's Bad Fur Day (Nintendo 64 game)
    * From Novarix: In the Nintendo 64 game "Conker's Bad Fur Day" (2001), there is a major "Aliens" reference. During a movie sequence before the final level, the Panther King begins complaining about chest pains (this is due to the fact that his professor slipped something into him) and finally a very cartoonish looking Alien (yes, its full grown) rips out of his chest and jumps down from the Panther's throne to the Professor who explains to Conker how beautiful the animal is, etc. (there might have been same "Alien" lines thrown in there.) When the Alien is just about to kill Conker, our squirrel hero throws a switch and an airlock opens, sucking almost everything out and Conker finds a robot that is brightly colored yellow and looks somewhat similar to the Power Loader in "Aliens". In a movie sequence, the xenomorph stands over the body of Conker's injured girlfriend Berri and is just about to kill her before the camera switches to a door opening to reveal the feet of Conker's power loader while panning slowly up just like the scene in "Aliens". Conker even gives the line "Get away from her, you bitch!" before Berri's body is sucked out of the air lock. As the player, you must then direct Conker to fight the alien who even bleeds green goop when hit and you have to throw him out the airlock. [Big Thanks to Novarix!]

    Contra (Nintendo game)
    * Mark points out : This game has some little beasties running around that look alot like aliens and facehuggers.
    * Kdawg strikes : In Contra there is a big head of alien sitting up on the wall, and it spits out a bunch of goobers at you that float around and get you, then once you've blown off it's head you have to go into it's body, and then fight a bunch of facehuggers that come out of nowhere, in a big chamber that's a cross between a cardial 'room' and an egg chamber.

    Corporation (Computer game)
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Corporation - A game by Core Design (makers of Tomb Raider) for the Amiga from 1991. Gameplay was first person like Doom, and it had creatures like facehuggers scuttling along the floor and ceiling. If you touched them, the entire screen filled with the creature and a small writhing tube which it was presumably trying to insert down your throat.

    Doom
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Doom - id software admitted that Doom was heavily influenced by Aliens, only they used demons instead of aliens. A later mod created the "Aliens: Total Conversion" - the graphics were terrible because it was a home-grown effort, but it was the best way of playing "Aliens" at the time.

    Duke Nukem 3D
    * Throughout Episode Two of this (Lunar Apocalypse) you run around a Sulaco-esque vehicle in several rooms you encounter alien eggs (which break open with little green creatures that try to cling to your face) also later through the game you start to see cocooning along the walls and you start running into cocooned women who, if you run up to them, say "Kill me..."

    Dungeon Keeper 2 (1999)
    * In the game called Dungeon Keeper 2, you control minions in your very own dungeon. They have to eat, sleep, train,> etc. Well one of the first dungeon residents you get is a fly. The fly goes across your dungon to the lair, (where they sleep) and makes a little home. His home looks exactly like an egg from the alien movies. You can see in the pic that is an exact rip off. Note: I highly recomend this game to anyone (but you need a pretty good PC). [Thanks for the report! :-)

    F-Zero (Super Nintendo game)
    * In the Super Nintendo game (and it's upcoming N64 sequel) F-Zero, there is a character named Pico. He's obviously meant to be some kind of an alien with green skin, but the top of his head is smooth and swept-back in a sort of shortened version of the Alien cranium. There are also Alien-esque veins on his neck. Thanks to Newborn0 for finding the reference!

    Fallout 2
    * From Joshua: These come from the game Fallout 2 which if you haven't played yet I very much suggest you do. In Vault City a computer says "30 seconds to reach minimum safe distance." This is probably a reference to the computer on LV-426. The other comes from either the Den or Klamath, can't remember which. But two guys are at a table and one of them is saying something along the lines of "C'mon Bishop. Do that trick with your hand and the knife again." Sometimes the person with the quote is hard to find since what the NPCs (non-player characters) is totally random.

    G-Police 2 Playstation Game
    * From Mad Skunk Burner: The guns that the characters have are almost exact copies of the Pulse Rifle in Aliens, except they're grey and don't look quite as cool.

    Half Life
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Half Life - the "head crabs" are, of course, face huggers - they even leap at your face! It might be my imagination, but the hollow ringing sound made as you launch the grenade sounds like it was ripped straight from Aliens. And also (lots of Aliens references here!) the shuffling zombies are head crabs that have attached to scientists heads and started to mutate them - a cross between Alien and John Carpenter's The Thing, especially as the creatures develop gnashing jaws on their chests! This creature is further developed in Opposing Force.

    Half Life: Opposing Force
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Half Life: Opposing Force - In the introductory sequence, you start off in a helicopter with fellow marines. One of them says "Any time, anywhere" in response to a comment....just like Vasquez from ALIENS.

    Halo (XBOX game)
    * Thanks to DeepERStar6. In the XBOX game HALO, at the beginning of Level 3, you hear what sounds like Apone's line in Alien " C'mon people. The corp ain't payin' us by the hour."
    * Submitted by Druff: Aboard the spaceship 'Pillar of Autumn' there are bulletin boards with various message posted on them. One of them reads:
          "Lost:
          Calico Cat
          Answers to Jonesey"
    [Thanks to Druff].

    Incubation (Amiga game)
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Incubation - A game released by Psygnosis back when the Commodore Amiga was at its prime. You had to save a colony from an infestation of aliens. You never actually saw any aliens, but you found the eggs, which were clearly Alien eggs. They never hatched, though (or I never saw them hatch) but they did open up and release "tentacles".

    The Metroid Series (Nintendo)
    * Starchild knows his Metriod! He noticed the following: Nintendo must have gotten the idea for this game off of the character Ripley. In the game Metroid (and it'ssequels) you play the character Samus Aran, a female bounty hunter who is given the mission to eradicate the Metroid Species. In the sequel Metroid II, you are sent to the planet SR388 to eradicate the species after the Space Marines sent before you wiped out after their arrival. The species even has a Queen, called the Mother Metroid, that gives birth to these creatures.
    * Starchild verifies the Metroid / ALIEN link....: In the third game "Super Metroid" one of the bosses is a huge flying lizard creature called "Ridley". Yup, you heard that one right! I guess it is Nintendo's way of paying homage to the first director of the Alien Saga (heck, the entire game series was inspired by "Alien"!) Newborn0 expands on this: the flying lizard named Ridley from Super Metroid actually originates from the original Metroid game.

    Missile Master (Computer Game)
    * An Alien Fan nabbed this sucker: The game Nisus Missile Master v2.62s (a.k.a. Missile Master) that I got this on the Best of Windows Games CD-Rom from International Software Values, Inc. has a reference. The game over sound is the "Game Over" line spoken by Hudson in Aliens.

    Mortal Kombat III (Video game)
    * For one of the character's fatalities, he shrinks to a small size and climbs in the victim's mouth he then burst out of their stomach. Thanks to Corpral Hicks!

    Outwars (Video Game)
    * Thanks to St Just for keeping up on his games! He spills his guts 'bout this one : It's very much like Star Ship Troopers (the book), about these space marines that wear armour with rocket launchers and machine guns and stuff. Well, there's a mission when you have to go inside a space ship and set mines at the reactor core, and then you have to get out of the ship as time ticks down. In the last ten seconds before the ship nukes, BISHOP's COUNTDOWN (From ALIENS) starts to play. It's really cool.

    R-Type
    * R-Type, level 1 boss was designed to look like an alien, right down to the chestburster. It's a popular pic- www.rtype.com probably has it somewhere. [Thanks olsen!]

    Rebelstar Raiders (Spectrum game)
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Rebelstar Raiders - Old Spectrum game written by the same team that later did the X-Com series. One of the scenarios was the raiders versus the aliens (most of which were drones).

    Resident Evil II (Playstation game)
    * LoneKatz says this happens.... :
In the Playstation Game Resident Evil 2, you come across a person (Ben or Chief Irons depending on who you are) who is shown having a worm shoved down his throat earlier in the game by a guy with a BIG eyeball in his arm. When talking to him (Ben or Irons, not the eye-guy) ... well I think you can guess the rest...

    Starcraft (computer Game)
    * As reported by Weyland Yutani, this game has several sound clips and an Alien that looks like... well, just Click Here to go the WYSWD:A for pics and info! Also, the Official Starcraft site has a listing. (Thanks MP!)
    * Big thanks to Dimitri for this info! : In "Starcraft", here are the references : when you bother a Marine he says "how do I get out of this chicken-sh... outfit ? The terran army is also equipped with a dropship, whose pilot is a girl with red hair who says when you give her orders "Hang on we're in for some chops" and "we're in the pipe five by five"
    * More from Dimitri: In the 4th Terran mission where you must defend the Mar Sara colony against an alien infestation, you can read at the entrance of the colony "Mar Sara, shake and bake". Do you remember Hadley's hope ??? Starcraft is full of references to other movies or game, and I don't think that Alien was the only source of inspiration for its designers.
    * Dimitri found another one : The cheat-mode to lose the game (yes, there are cheat mode to lose the game...) is "Game Over, man"

    Space Hulk (Video Game)
    * Dimitri found this one! : This is not really a reference but in the old game "Space Hulk", you had to control a squad of marines equipped with ultra heavy armor, in big spaceships, and against alien abomination. The main screen was composed of 5 TV screens, one for each Marines, if one of them was killed, the screen was blank...Also, in another Games-Workshop game (The authors of Space Hulk), ... well I can't explain it but if you see the picture joined, you'll understand...[Nathans note : I'm posting the picture in a few days!]

    Space Quest 2 (computer Game)
    * Thanks to Mikko for this news! : In the end of the game there's an alien (like in Alien, but with big red lips) who kisses roger if catches him. And in the very end of the game, if you've been kissed by the alien, a chestbuster (or a little alien, can't remember which) comes out of Wilco's chest killing him.

Space Quest III: Pirates of the Pestulon
    * Thanks to PFC Xander! : On Phleebut, in World O' Wonders, If you continually type in "Look at cards" the Last card, before they repeat ar Arrkis (Dune, anyone?) There's a card from Archeron, with an atmosphere processor in the background, and, for the best part, the foreground features..(Drumroll please) A man with a face-hugger on him. Yup, it's right there, in 16 colors. Looks like crap, but hell, It's funny.

    Space Quest 5 (computer Game)
    * PFC Xander saw this one! : In Space Quest 5, there is a creature referred to as a baby face-hugger. It jumps on your face, pee's acid, looks like a head-hugger (drawn by a child) would look like.

    Space Quest 6 (Demo)
    * In this 'mini-game all in itself,' you can go to the docking bay, and there, in the lower right corner, is an exact copy of the dropship from Aliens. Thanks to PFC Xander!

    Space Quest 6 (computer Game)
    * Mikko once again finds a reference in this fantastic computer game series... Thanks! : There is an alien reference in Space Quest 6 pc game (by Sierra). Roger Wilco's (the hero of the games) spaceship's battery dies. Woman stops to help him by giving him a jump start from her spaceship. When she is leaving, she jumps back to her ship, alien (grey one looks like the one in Alien) jumps in as well. Then her ship leaves.

    System Shock 2
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] System Shock 2 - The Many incubate eggs using cyborg midwives, and you see the eggs for the first time on Level 3 (Hydroponics). Naturally, the eggs look rather familiar, and they burst open if you get too close to them. Small parasitic worms emerge.

Turrican / Turrican 2 (Amiga game)
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] Turrican / Turrican 2 - Games for the Amiga which were side-scrolling action games. One level features very distinct Aliens including the typical wall secretions. The game inlay even had Alien caricatures taunting the hero. [Adam B. also notes: In fact, computer games in the 1980's and early 90's frequently featured what was described as organic "Gigeresque" artwork.]

Turok: Rage Wars (Nintendo 64 game)
    * As Jon U. passes along: The reference is for one of the guns in the game. Read the following from http://ign64.com:
The Chestburster: Ah yes, another Aliens inspired gun. You check your gun and see that there's a little critter in blue liquid loaded in the chamber. You aim, fire, connect and forget about it. Meanwhile your victim knows he has been hit, but hasn't lost any health and so continues on his merry way. That is, until a few seconds later when an extraterrestrial embryo fights his way out of the confines of his body towards sweet life-giving light. We're not sure if this will kill a perfectly healthy enemy, but it should at least severely cripple them. The animations for this gun and it's result effect are still incomplete, but the concept combined with what we saw firsthand has us drooling. Wait, there's a second function?

    Warhammer 40,000 Computer Game
    * From Dimitri: This is a wargame by Games Workshop, one of the available army is the imperial guard, a huge human army based upon tons of infantry and tanks. One of the most famous regiment is called the catachan jungle fighter regiment, and their uniform includes a red bandana. When I asked GW if they hadn't been inspired by Vasquez, they answered: "(...) it is possible..." [Nathan's Note: There is no question that the fighter is a take-off of Vasquez!]

    Wargame (Computer Game)
    * Thanks to Chris (I'll quote him!) "Games Workshop's Wargame range includes an entire army featuring the alien-esq enemies from Space-Hulk. The army is known as the Tyranids, the 'alien-esq' ones being 'Genestealers' which apparently use an ovipositor in their mouthes to inject a seed into their prey which causes them to genetically mutate into a hybrid alien, and finally a new genestealer. Also the entire race exists in a biotechnological, hive, genetic assimilating fashion like that of our favourite xenomorph. Not quite but almost an imitation, and no doubt inspired by a certain film.

    Catchan Jungle Fighter (Model figure)
    * Chris also had this to say: "In regards to the 'Games Workshop' and the Catchan Jungle fighters being influenced by Vasquez, well I bought said models after seeing Aliens to represent the colonial marines in the film, but imagine my pleasure when a year or so ago I acquired a Games-Workshop 'Vasquez' Jungle-fighter figure from a second hand shop. It is a perfect resemblence in almost every detail, though the smart-gun has been imitated with a long-barrel grenade launcher. This figure is not commercially available and seems to be what is commonly known in the hobby as a 'conversion' - that is to say when a gamer takes a figure and modifies it to look different... Well this one must have represented months of some skilled modeller's work, and as such must be the only one of its kind in existance. Poor fellow must have put it up for sale by mistake along with a box of lesser figures - it was mine for about Ł1!

    Worms
    * From Dimitri: In "Worms", a great (but a bit old) PC game, at the beginning of each battle, you see a tagline, like "More fun than jumping off a cliff" or "there can be only worm (only one)", one day it was "In space, no one can hear you squirm"

    X-COM: UFO Defence
    * [Adam B. has the scoop:] X-COM: UFO Defence - Classic Microprose game about an alien invasion of Earth. One of the aliens is called a "Chryssalid" - its drawing is very similar to an alien drone, and it infects civilians and your squad with its attacks. If successful, a new alien bursts out of the body of the old host (looks like the skin splits and falls away, but the influence is obvious).

    X-Men: Mutant Apocapypse (SNES game)
    * Hicks spotted an older reference in the SNES game "X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse". In one section your character (whichever of the X-Men you choose) has to fight against the Brood (which are already the Marvel equivalent of the xenomorph) and in one section you in a pit surrounded by brood eggs which not only look familiar, they also had the layer of mist around them.

    CRACKED Magazine
    * Hicks shouts out: I just found an old issue of this in my room with a sci-fi special edition. In the first ref. the crew of Star Trek TNG is leaving and selling there props in ten-forward on guy sitting on a stool has a chestburster pop out of him the chestburster then remarks "I'll have what he's having"
    * Hicks also finds out : In one article they had an alien zoo with humans, and in one they showed a military general going psycho we see two xenomorphs one saying "WAAA Daddy it's scaring me" the other replies "Don't worry Junior see they're keeping it in a nice safe cage."

    Entertainment Weekly
    * Leah Found this slogan : I just noticed that in the Sept. 11th 1998 issue of Entertainment Weekly on p. 116, they introduce the new Lassie series by saying "THE BITCH IS BACK." [Nathans note : Other than ALIENS, How many other movies have ever used that phrase??? :) ]

    MAD Magazine
MAD magazine always makes good spoofs of the ALIEN movies.
    * Issue No. 268 (January 1987) had an ALIENS spoof "ALIENatorS" Very good! (I'll scan the cover later)
    * Issue No. ??? (December 1997) had a collection of thier ALIEN and ALIENS spoof, "ALIAS" and "ALIENatorS"
    * Now, 'Orbita' sent me this info : this months issue (April 1998 - Scream 2 cover) spoofs Alien Resurrection with "ALIEN Resuscitated." Takes a LOT of cheap shots at Winona Ryder's performance...Sounds great! :)
    * Skeet dug up these beauties : Issue No. 288 (July 1989) with a parody of Sigourney Weaver's movie "Working Girl." A chestburster in sneakers appears on the first page, running past Sigourney with an envelope that reads "Alien Messenger Service." Later, Sigourney appears with her leg in a cast, and one of the messages written on it says "Break a leg-The Alien". Finally, in Sigourney's bedroom, there is a picture on the wall of a spaceship labeled "Nostromo." Thanks Skeeter!
    * Mad Mag October 1998: X-Files Satire
Moldy : While you were frozen, you missed seeing a giant spaceship take off, but these horrible creatures make you believe, don't they, Sculky? You haven't seen anything like them before, have you?
Skulky : Lots of times! I saw all of the Sigourney Weaver Alien movies! [Thanks to Ferro83 for finding this one!]

    Nuts Mag
    * Nuts Mag ISSUE no.6 April 1998 (Page 8-9 Variations of Alien) :
The Belly Dancer Alien: What you did know: She's beautiful, exotic and every man's dream. What you didn't know: She's Got a bun in the oven and it's rising fast!
The Michelin Alien: For a tough grip on roads and aliens (Alien Bouncing around trying to get out of the Michelin Man's Chest)
The Mascot Alien: The Syracuse Chicken Wings give a new meaning to comin' out strong in the second half! [Much thanks to Ferro83]

    TIME (magazine)
    * From Mick: A few years ago I read a Time (I think) interview with Stephen King. In one of the pictures, he had a model of the xenomorph on his desk.

    Watch
    * Mark tells me that this magazine has not only an "Alien with Dentures" but also Homer Simpson in an ALIEN form. Cool! Pick it up (if you can find it!) :)

Other References (World, Radio, School...localized goodies)

    AOL Online
    * An Aliens fan passes: I was taking an America Online Star Wars quiz and I noticed an ALIENS reference. One of the questions read "What is the home of the Jedi Counsil in The Phantom Menace?" One of the incorrect choices was LV-426, the planet in ALIENS. I'm not sure if it is quite a reference... [Nathan's note: No, not a references, but it is sorta like the jeopardy reference.... so It'll stay as a "sighting." :)

    AMC Theatre
    * From Xander: When I went to see 'The Matrix' at my AMC theater in town, one of those coca-cola trivia quizzes was on the screen and it said... and I'm not quoting "Yucky or Yummy: The Slime used in the Aliens Movies was Malt Syrup...."
[Nathan's Note: Actually, it wasn't, it was more K-Y Jelly than anything. :)

    WKQX 101.1 (Chicago)
    * Scott Reports the goods: I heard a small reference this morning Jan 4, 1999. Here in Chicago there's a guy called Mancow who does a radio show every morning on WKQX 101.1. He occasionally has celebrity interviews and must have had Bill Paxton on recently cause he had him do a plug: "This is Bill Paxton and you're listening to Mancow's Morning Madhouse. GAME OVER MAN!!" Thought you might like it. [I do!!]

    * From Skeeter : There's a DJ in New York who is waaay too fond of his sampler...played an eight-minute song with no lyrics, just movie dialogue. You can hear Ripley saying "These people are dead!" five or six times, then Ash says "You have my sympathies." I hope he doesn't get sued.

    * Mark goes to a good school! From Ontario.... : In my music text book at school there is a picture of peple working on the music for Alien3 in front of them there is a screen showing the EEV falling towards fiorina 161! The text book is called Share The Music.

    * Owen likes Motorcycles, and so does the ALIEN! As he says (Thank you Owen!) : Have you seen the smoking chestburster T-shirt? I saw it in a collection vof photos taken at Harley-Davidson bikers ralleys here in Japan. I can't tell from the photo whether it's on someone's gas tank, or if it's a T-shirt. I think it's a T-shirt. Anyway, it's got the ugly little guy bursting out, with blood and stuff spurting everyway, and he's got his right hand extended as if offering something or about to clench into a fist and flex his biceps in a "Oh Yeah!" effect, and a big toothy smile with a lit cigarette hanging from his mouth. Above it is the "Aliens" logo. It's kinda cool actually.

    Medieval Times
    * LEMpilot nabs this one; Here's a reference for anybody in Southern California whose ever been to "Medieval Times" in Anaheim, a live renaissance faire-type medieval performance. They use a cut from the Alien3 soundtrack (don't know which one) for one of the swordfights.

    Florida (1998)
    * Funkymage noticed this reference: Last year I went to see Air Force One at a theater in Florida. Before the movie started, several trivia questions appeared on the screne to keep people occupied before the movie started. One of the questions asked who said this line, "They mostly come at night, mostly..." The answer was "Carrie Henn, - Aliens."

    Marketing 365 (1998)
    * Here is one I didn't expect! In one of my Marketing classes at the University of Calgary, we use a textbook (name I'll find shortly. :) During every chapter, there is a video to watch related to the material. One video was about computer games, and then related them to rating systems. Well, in one shot of the 'ratings on computer games' they showed the ALIENS 'comic book adventure' computer game and its rating. ;)

Inspired By...(Potential items that could have been inspired or are similar)

    Big Bully
    * An Alien Fan noticed this: From the movie Big Bully; In the first part of this movie is a flashback where you see Rick Moranis and Tom Arnold as kids. They are called to a school assembly where they will meet an astronaut and see an "actual moon rock". There's a fantasy the kids have where they go to the auditorium to see the rock. There's a Alien egg size rock sitting on a pedestal, it then cracks open with a bright green glow, like in the Alien trailer. When the kids jump they cut the scene to the real thing which is just a small inanimate pebble.

    Independence Day
    * Dimitri echos my own thoughts in this report: In Independance Day (this movie sucks!), the scene where the F/A 18 C's from the Marines Corps attacks the spaceship and are destroyed is very similar to the first alien encounter in Aliens : you see the general, far away from combat, with status screen of all their planes, when all the missile miss and the aliens are about to appear, the president who sits near the general, says: "Pull them out !" very much like Ripley.

REM - Michael Stipe & Interviewer
    * This one is from Luka from Slovenia. Big thanks to to her! : This was a kind of rock concert/documentary on R.E.M. A female interviewer and the group were in a limo and Michael Stipe (lead singer) was asking them how he should be presented (forgot where, sorry) as a person being bald. He then reads some names he has already written, Yul Brinner, Kojak etc. The interviewer then asks if women would be right too. He says yes and then she say Sigourney Weaver. He makes kinda stupid grin and writes the name down. Now this to me is an Alien 3 reference, since Weaver has only been bald for this particular movie.

    3d Pinball for Windows
    * Thanks to Ryan: In the 3d pinball for Microsoft's Windows that comes with the newer versions of Windows, after you do the training, there is a mission where you have to hit certain targets (I cant remember what they call it). When you finsih the mission it says Xenomorphs Destroyed.
