Also, another ALIEN related movie page has cracked the list....so ya better all

which has a great listing and information / pics on various ALIEN goodies that
I just don't have. :) Please vote for this page by
Clicking here!
So, you have 2 sites to vote for now! Thank-you.
June 26th
I like to bring into view other ALIEN related
sites that have information
which my site does not cover completly. One of these sites is the
On-line Alien
collection.
It has a massive listing of ALIEN merchandise,
from toys to games, posters to magazines. Also, there are many pictures
featured within this site. Give it a visit!
And, related to that, here are several links that were posted by W.G.
at the On-line site,
many
thanks to him! There are several upcoming ALIEN
related games. Here are some links for ALIEN
Resurrection,
the game, which is waaaaaaaaaay overdue:
* New Press
Release
* PSM Site -
Screenshots
* Fox
Interactive (Official Site!)
There is also the Aliens vs. Predator game:

Again, many thanks to W.G. for posting these links on His awesome site! :)
June 26th
On July 20th, (midnight and 11 AM EST), Comedy Central is airing
the 'Saturday Night Live' episode from 1986 hosted by Sigourney
Weaver. This episodes has a few great ALIEN
References,
so make sure ya tape it! Thanks to Skeeter for the info! :)
The University had a server cleanup, and shut down all webpages
for 5 or 6 hours last night....sorry for the troubles! :)
June 24th
Another ALIEN Reference, thanks to St. Just.
It is under 'books' for "Reliquary." So, does anyone know the
usual names for shooting stances?
June 24th
Some'more ALIEN references! From 'Mickey
Mouse Club (honest!)', 'Batman vs Predator', and the 'Danse Macrabre'
book.
Thanks to 'An Alien Fan.'
June 24th
I've had a HUGE increase in visitors to my page lately. Thanks
for that! Please mail me
with any comments. :)
As for some ALIEN Alumni updates;
Bill Paxton (Hudson in ALIENS) has a new movie coming out 'Mighty Joe
Young.'
The trailer played before 'Mulan.' It looks fairly good...
David Fincher (Director of Alien 3) is working on the flick 'The Fight
Club.'
Ridley Scott (Director of Alien) isn't likley making the movie he was
working on....so he can currently move on to other things...click here
for more (in 'old news' section)
David Twohy (one time Alien 3 scripter) is looking for casting for
his directorial effort 'Pitch Black.' (Its a sci-fi flick!)
Newt is attending school in California
Ian Holm (Ash) I think stars in a movie directed by David Cronenburg
(Existenz I think)
Jerry Goldsmith (Music for ALIEN) did 'Mulan', James Horner (ALIENS) is
doing another volume of Titanic music (I'm serious!), Elliot Goldenthal
has a new release
'Othello' and John Frizzel is still Alive. :)
June 22nd
There are only 8 more days left to take the "buy $20, get $10" off from Cdnow. So, you could get one
normal CD and have a free Alien 3 soundtrack
thrown in. :) It is an excellent deal, and if you could use the links on
my page, or Click Here to find lotsa links to Cdnow. Thanks!
And get yourself some soundtracks from the ALIEN
series. :)
June 22nd
There was an interview with a stunt guy from ALIEN 3, in the
new issue of the Star Wars Insider. It mentions that he has
the unofficial record for the longest (2 minutes) full burn.
I think this is where ya run around with a burning suit, with
no oxygen to breathe. 2 minutes! This has to be where the
tri...tirnitrocy....flammable stuff explodes. :) The article also
mentions that he *was* the Queen Alien. I dunno 'bout that one...
Skeeter yells at me with this news bit :
"The New York Daily News interviewed Sigourney Weaver and she revealed
three new projects, Alien 5 not among them. One is a romantic comedy
costarring Bruce Willis called RESCUE ME. Another is a CIA farce with
Woody Allen titled COMPANY MAN, and the last is a film adaptation of A
MAP OF THE WORLD."
Eh? So, it looks like ALIEN 5 is not
going to be filming for *at least* until late 1999. But at least
she stars with the BRUCE! :) Thank you Skeet!
Ya-hoo! I moved up 10 spots at
Worldcharts! The "ALIEN Movies Resource
Page"
is now tagged at 45th best homepage in the world. All of
your votes made me move up! Thank-ya'll. Now, I got up to 33rd
once....lets see if I can bust the top 30 again! Just click on
the button at the top of the screen to lend me a vote. Com'on
folks! Thanks. :)
June 21st
Black Vulture informs me that
"the first five or so minutes that is
exactly the same as after Ripley yells "Punch it Bishop!" and they fly
off into orbit and Hadley's Hope explodes. It is that music that they use
in the Making of the movie that aired on FOX, and FX this past week."
Thank you for the scoop B.V! :)
Also, 'Steve J.' in the ALIEN newsgroup
had some info on H.R. Giger. He has
now opened a museum in Switzerland, in a castle in the region of Gruyeres.
It has stuff from ALIEN and his other sci-fi movie contributions....
Special thanks to Steve for the newsgroup posting.
June 20th
Do I have to remind you folks? :) Please
Vote for
The ALIEN Movies Resource Page at World Charts!
You can either click here
or use the button at the top of this page. Thanks!
June 20th
Well, I saw the X-files movie. There were *some* similarities
with the ALIEN series...I'll list 'em below. I didn't want
to spoil the movie for anyone, so if you have specific questions,
just Mail Me with 'em!
* The Music. There have been some
comments on the music being similar to ALIENS.
I would have to disagree. I have the X-files score soundtrack, and
there are 2 instances where it is very similar to "sub-level 3"
from ALIENS....but while ALIENS was a pounding theme, Mark Snow
uses a more diverse and it just really sounds different than what
James Horner wrote.
* The ALIENS. The ALIENS were not
similar in what you might think.... but the 'Lead Alien' (serious,
this is almost what it said in the credits) was played by
the same guy that was the ALIEN in Alien 3 & Alien 4; "Tom Woodruff Jr."
Some of the effects were also done by Amalgamated Dynamics & Blue Sky /VIFX.
Both these companies worked on ALIEN 4.
* The SCENES. There was one scene that was
very, very similar to a certian 'sequence' that occurs in a few of the
ALIEN movies....you'll know what I mean when you see it.
* I don't want to blow the movie for
anyone, but one main concept, that is blatently obvious to an ALIEN
movie fan, is in the movie. It isn't a rip-off, but it has very
similar roots to the ALIEN films.
The movie is great if you are a fan of the series. I'd greatly recommend it.
June 20th
I added a wee Coming Soon section on this page,
you can see it by clicking on the link above. If you want to see anything
else on it, just e-mail me with your suggestions! Thanks!
June 18th
Thanks to starchild & Dan G. for getting this to me!
There was a small article in todays (17th june) edition of The Daily
Mail (a British paper). It reads:
'ALIEN STAR ZAPS PAY RECORD
Sigourney Weaver has shattered Hollywood records by becoming the highest
paid actress. She will pick up 13 million pounds playing Ripley in the
fifth Alien film. The agreement means that Miss Weaver, 48, will get
5 million pounds more than Demi Moore, who held the previous record
of 8 million pounds for the flop Striptease. A Hollywood insider
said: "She just wanted the same deal as top
male stars." Under the terms of the deal she will help to write the
film's script.'
13 million pounds is about 20 MILLION US DOLLARS! (or around
26 million Canadian bucks.) In any case, this makes her the
highest paid actress for a movie! And the 'helping to write the
films script' may be indicative that Joss Whedon's writing just
isn't finished yet....or he has been chucked. Thanks again Starchild!
June 17th
The "100 top movies of all time" thing was on. I didn't watch it.
It seems that a very small amount of people actually got to vote...
but anyway, No James Cameron Film is on it, or Ridley Scott film, or
David Fincher film. They must be biased against the ALIEN series.
:)
James Cameron has stated that he will take a break from directing
for a wee-bit. And folks, he IS NOT directing ALIEN 5!
And please, all the info 'bout ALIEN 5 is mostly just rumours,
and nothing more. It is in development, but I personally doubt
it will be in release next year.
I actually moved up 1 spot at
World Charts!! So don't stop
Voting for
this page! Thanks.
Oh, and James Cameron got an Honrable degree from Ryerson Polytechnical
....umm..institute? I forget the name. I'll eventually scan the pics...
And I re-uploaded the 'Showest' trailer to its home on my
geocities page. You can find the link for it on the main page.
Geocities can be very SLOW with big files....I will try d-loading
it myself tonight to see if all of it is working. The trailer
was shown in Late '96 and has different voiceover dubs for Ripley
and Call in the scene....It is a nice addition to an ALIEN .avi
stash.
Do you have any ALIEN news? Just mail me with whatever ya got!
June 14th
Its World Charts time! But bad news folks, I'm falling on
the charts! :-O So please give me a
Vote to remedy this situation!
June 14th
Hey! Some pretty cool news outa the 'ol Newsgroup. Here ya go:
This is straight from "the horses mouth" -- so to speak (thanks AW & SW)
Sig has signed to do Alien 5 for a nice sum of money. She also has in
her contract about important scenes being cut... and FOX said okay...and
this script is done and in the bag... and principal film begins in the
Autumn... for a release next year!
This is good -- maybe the this will mean less scenes on the cutting room
floor making for a great movie!
A Super thanks to Chantal, and of course to Jett for the posting, as well as those AW & SW
(SW...hmmm..) characters.
;)
June 13th
Alien Resurrection was shut out at the 'ol Saturn awards, which were gien
out yesterday. Alien 4 was moninated for Best Special Effects, Best Costumes, Best Direction (JP
Juenet), Best Supporting Actress (W. Ryder), Best Actress (Sigourney Weaver), Best Science
Fiction Film and it missed all of 'em. Doh! James Cameron did win the 'President's Award', and a
few days ago (maybe yesterday as well?) won an honorable Doctorate degree from Ryerson. (I'll give
ya more info on that later. :)
June 13th
a...4@aol.com told me of a pic of the facehugger box-set. You can even buy it! The site is europe
based, and Click
here to give it a look! It is actually a picture of the contents of the box set. (Scroll down
to the ALIEN section.
June 10th
There is an interesting item up for auction in the
Rec.movies.music newsgroup. It is the :
"O FORTUNA"
(ULTRA RARE OUT OF PRINT CD SINGLE--GROUP WAS SUED
AND INJUNCTION IN PLACE SO NO FURTHER COPIES WILL EVER BE PRODUCED!)
"AS HEARD IN THE ALIENS INTERNET MOVIE TRAILER!!!"
PURE POUNDING TECHNO REMIXES OF THE CLASSIC
APOTHEOSIS
STARTING BID: $50.00
The current bid I believe is $65 bucks. The webpage is Located Here
and I can vouch for the sellers credibility....I've gotten some stuff off him before!
June 10th
Micheal Biehn (Corporal Hicks) and Ron Perlman (Johner) were in a mid-season
replacement show "The Magnificent Seven" on CBS. Well, good news! The show
has been renewed. I actually enjoyed this show. Biehn was pretty cool in it,
and Perlman...well, he was sorta funny. Check it out!
The rumours are flying everywhere about Joss Whedon getting canned by FOX.
Just remember, this originated as a RUMOUR! It may / may not be true! But, you
can count that with the fan backlash on Alien 4, his Alien 5 treatment will be
much more scrutinized....
June 9th
Is Whedon out??? One of my favorite pages, Dark Horizons
had a scoop that went like this : Joss Whedon's "Alien 5" script has been rejected by producers
because, "he planned a drastic change to Ripley's character...." Just go to Dark Horizons to read it
all, ok?
June 9th
Whew! I've been a busy beaver and haven't had the time to update. Not much news, although Joss
Whedon is gearing up to write a vampire type of show, and he is still up to buffy writing. There is
lots more on this at the Cinescape website.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Alt.cult-movies.alien newsgroup (now 2.5 years old!) is a
great place for ALIEN discussion. I forget who posted this bit of info (My apologies to the
originator) but it looks like the 'over/under' ALIENS MK pulse rifle has a real-life counterpart!
Well, no, not really, but This Gun
has a few similarities!
This Site has a
few shots of Winona Ryder...but I really don't agree with the quote about her!! (yes, it is Alien 4
related.) :)
June 6th
Ya know 'em, ya love 'em, its World Charts!
Help me from falling out of the charts! Just give me a quick Vote. Thanks!
June 6th
ALIEN 5 a go!?!?! Over at Ain't It cool News, it seems that
there is a nice scoop : that preliminary budgeting for the movie has begun. That sounds promising!
It also means that FOX has deemed the ALIEN franchise (after Alien 4) to be making a profit. This
ain't really a confirmed fact....but hey! It is the first Alien 5 non completely crapola rumour I've
heard in a while. :) Thanks to Chris Dias for sending me over to AICN! :)
June 6th
A new script has made its way to the Fan Fiction
area! It is called "ALIEN EXTINCTION" Read it!
June 6th
Geocities has increased the size of its free homepages to
11 MEGS! Not bad! So, I now have the "Showest trailer" availible. This trailer was the
first public trailer for ALIEN Resurrection, shown during 'Showest' in
early '97. You can link to it from the Main Page, under the 1st Alien 4
section.
And with the increased meggage at Geocities, I finally stuck up the start of the ALIEN and ALIENS picture pages! Link to 'em from
the main page! And remember, if you have a pic ...or *anything* alien related that needs to be
displayed to the world...just send it to me and I'll post it up. Thanks!
June 5th
20,000 VISITS!!! The 'ALIEN Movies Resource
Page' has passed the 20,000 hit mark. This is double my
original goal...and 1/5th of my new one. :) A breif history goes
like this : I started creating this page last summer, in hopes of
making a quick "one-click-away" resource for tonnes of info I had on
the ALIEN series. I put up a version to the world at the start
of August '97....and I've remained the most-up-to-date ALIEN news
site since. :)
But all the goodness of this site is thanks to you folks; the
readers. Endless contributions, continual support and lotsa fun
have made me extremely happy to keep this page alive. I've made
some friends as well! :) Thanks to you! If I ever made a
thank-you list it would be the size of the original ALIENS script. :)
And so I've decided to start a wee bit of a new phase with this page.
It goes like this : Do YOU have some
ALIEN info...and want to make a webpage? Do you know stuff
'bout the series that isn't covered within this website? Then hey!
You can help me out an contribute! Write a html page and I'll
host it, or send me the info...and It'll get put here for the world
to see. :) Just Mail Me
and tell me about it! And pat yourselves on the back while we go
for another 20 thousand visits!
June 5th
As Cadet Corn Reminded me: June 19th is the day that ALIEN Resurrection starts to air on Pay-Per-View.
June 4th
I believe I have found several more instances where the Music in ALIEN 3 didn't make it to the CD score. Also, I am making a 'chronological'
list of the 'music as how it appeared in the movie.' This will inlcude
the parts that I think are absent on the CD.
If you got any info or want to help, just gimme an e-mail 'cause I could use your
ears too! :)
June 4th
Nooo! This page is still slipping at
World Charts!
It is now at 51st place
overall on the Best Homepage ranking. So NOW is your time to Vote,
(especially if you haven't already done so!)
Also, the ALIEN collectors
Homeworld is also in the charts. He is almost on the list!
Make sure you vote for him while you are there.
June 4th
Do you have any school / analytical / psychoanalysis / descriptive
papers based on the ALIEN series? I woul love to host them on
my site in the Fan-Fiction area! So please
get in touch with me
if you have anything, absaloootely anything (from grade 1 to masters
level) to contribute! Thanks.
June 4th
Sometime today, or early Friday, I will reach *20,000* visits to
the ALIEN Movies Resource Page! So
if you are lucky #20,000, give me an
email!. To
celebrate this momentous event, I thought I'd make ya all aware
that CdNow has
another amazing 'buy $20, get $10 off sale. So you can get
the ALIEN 3 soundtrack for FREE if you
buy another 20 buck CD. To see what
CdNow has, just click on
over to the Merchandise area, or go the
ALIEN music sections; ALIENS, ALIEN 3 and ALIEN
Resurrection.

An error in Maltins 98 movie guide? I think so! L. Maltin is a movie type of critic dude that
appears on lots of TV shows and writes books on movies etc. He has a big 'annual movie guide' which
basically lists zillons of short, short summaries for every movie on video. Well, n the 1998
edition, under ALIENS he states (this is taken from memory, forgive the mistakes) : "James
Cameron's Special edition, with 17 minutes of footage, is now released on video" WHAT!
Now, there are 3 possiblities for this statement. 1) That Maltin is talking 'bout the PAL
release, which is out of print. This is very unlikely, as he (or his stooges that write
the book) all reside in the US of A. 2) That at the time of publishment
(publishment???!?) they were informed of an upcoming rerelease....or they messed up and
should have said laserdisc. (which is out of print, and rare.) Or, 3) That some peon that
wrote this misleading statement should be beaten with a facehugger for not doing his research (or
not even emailng me! hehe. :).
It is an interesting statement to read in such a 'big' resource...
June 1st
More Alien References!!! Thanks to Mikko (space quest) and ....you know you
you are..but I can't remember your name! :( But thanks. :)
I got a new Award! The Hudson Award of Distinction. This award is set
up by the Ultimate Alien site. Thank you Evan! ;)
Thank you to all of my visitors to this page! I appreciate every single one of you! Really!!! :)
May 31st
Its that time of the week again folks! Just Click Here to vote for this page at World Charts! Com'on, I'm asking nicely! :)
May 31st
Get out your old MAD magazines! 'Cause Skeet found another ALIEN Reference
in one of 'em. Thanks muchly Skeet!
There is a campaign going on ( a letter writing campaign ) to FOX to get Ridley Scott back into the
directing chair for ALIEN 5. Please read the Ridley Scott Petition paper
for the full scoop.
May 29th
Skeet points this out : In the movie 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'
both Jenette (sp?) Goldstein (Vasquez) and Kim Flowers (the babe in
Resurrection :) ) are in it. Also, a new Alien
Reference! from 'A Life Less Ordinary.'
Thanks Skeet!
I will reply to emails that I've gotten in the past few days tonight.
Sorry for the delay!
May 29th
Chestburster noticed this today : This years Electronic
Entertainment Expo (E3) has some ALIEN content! Click Here
to give a visit of a picture regarding the event....
E3 is were electronic game developers make
elaborate displays to show off their new products.
Fox interactive had a display with an elaborate alien
setup. The link should take you directly to the picture from the
expo. Fox was promoting its Alien Resurrection game I believe.
Thanks Chestburster!
May 29th
Bad news in the ALIENwebworld. Bill
Smith, the amazing owner & creator of
ALIENS : the Web Site is
closing up shop due to money problems. He is
nothing less than a legend in the ALIEN community :). In honor of
everything that he's done, Evan Derrick has set up a Tribute Page,
and has this to say: "There will also have a section called
"The Wall," where fans can sign their names and add a few comments
to show their appreciation for Bill. I would ask that all of you visit the
page and sign your
own names. I also have another favor to ask: please forward this
email to every single Aliens fan that you know, asking them to go
and sign the wall as well and pass on this message to every fan that
they know. This is the least we can do for Bill, who has been around
so long. Thanks a lot.
May 28th
In a shot from Alien Resurrection, Sigourney Weaver graces the cover of
the June issue of "DirectTV" guide. (I think this is like a Pay-per-view movie guide.)
I should have posted this earlier, but on Cinescape online,
they posted a bit about Godzilla's design work... I have posted it in its entirety, straight from
the Cinescape site :
The obvious connection with H.R. Giger's original Alien designs being made by almost every reviewer
describing the new look of Godzilla were supported by his creator Patrick Tatopoulos. "They have sex
appeal," Tatopoulos tells USA Today, in reference to his favorite movie creatures from Alien and
Predator which inspired the new Godzilla designs. "They're scary because they're beautiful."
In sadder news, Phil Hartman has died. He was a comic, actor, voice artist (many on the
Simpsons) and just a funny dude. He made me laugh many times....I'm gonna miss him. Best wishes to
his family.
May 27th
More ALIEN References! This time from 'Something so Right,' and more on
'Godzilla,' and a Dean Koontz book. Thanks to Evan, KingNevin, An Alien Fan, and myself!
May 26th
Another Reference, thanks to St. Just. IT is from 'Clueless,' the TV show.
All I have to do know is upload the pics for the ALIEN and ALIENS pictures pages....but I think I'll
put them on a new Geocities account. ahhh, 6 megs at its best. :) Remember, contribute your ALIEN
Links!
Cinescape magazine has a tidbit (well, a page) on ALIEN Resurrection, for
the video release. The title of the article is 'Alien : Regurgitation'...so I don't think they
liked
it that much. :)
May 25th
More ALIEN References, from Godzilla and Starcraft. Thanks to Chestburster.
:)
I also reformatted the Links section....it is much easier to read. I also deleted a few links by
accident...so if you want your link (back) up just Mail
Me and I'll fix it. :) Just mail me all your ALIEN links! :)
May 23rd
Nooooo! I went down in rankings at World Charts. Cursed ye
be gods! Come'on folks, I get lots of visits a day. If you all could
Vote, I wouldn't have to go into a mass
despression. So all you have to do is
click here to vote for this page!
May 23rd
Spike Lee diss's Cameron! hehe. Well, Cinescape reported this tidbit....
Lee Says Cameron "Can't Write"
Beats us why, but during in a mini-interview with Entertainment Weekly, He Got Game director and New
York Knicks fan Spike Lee chose to take a mild jab at Titanic director James Cameron. When asked
whether Lee liked Titanic, the director answered, "It was all right... But I don't understand why
(James Cameron) is upset it didn't get nominated for best screenplay. Mr. Cameron is a great
technical director, unsurpassed, but he can't write, and he definitely can't write dialogue."
A huge thanks to Cinescape for unknowingly letting me swipe
this news. :)
May 23rd
This news bit may be a little old....but According to E! Online, Aliens veteran Michael Beihn has
agreed to star as John Holmes in a biopic based on the porn star's life. (Also posted to Cinescape.)
May 23rd
I'm back! In case you wanted to know where I was for the past week, just
Click Here. I was at the Barrier Lake
Station taking 'Economics 575.' Now, doesn't that sound exciting?! Really, it was a fantastic
class. :) And I'll answer all emails on Saturday. :)
More references! Thanks to "An Alien Fan," "trekchic" and myself.
:)
A rumour on the 'ol Ain't it cool news site. I think
it is false....but I cut and pasted it from the AiCN site. So go 'n visit 'em.
"No, there will not be a fifth ALIEN film. "We did alright with the fourth one, but you don't do
films just to do alright".
This was supposedly the direct words of Bill Mechanic, who is the chairman of Fox Filmed
Entertainment. Just click Here
for the alledged 'scoop.'
May 21st
Hello! I will actually do a nice update (more references!) and answer all
the e-mail that has been piling up in my inbox in a just a few days. (This
is when I get home!)
Thanks for waiting!
May 17th

emails. :) I'll try to check the 'ol in-box as often as I can.
A New Alien Reference, this time under 'other'...thanks Owen!
And remeber, please vote for the ALIEN Movies Resource Page at Worldcharts! Just Click Here to give this page a vote.
Come'on folks, I want too see everyone vote this week! Thats right, all of you! It only takes a
second (or less!) Thanks!
Remember, the comic series FoxTrot is running an ALIEN Resurrection related story. Read it everyday!
TV Guide for the week is....
* MAY 19th : James Cameron, the little known
(ha, ha!)
director of ALIENS, will make an appearance on the season finale of the
show 'Mad About You.' Paul Riser (Burke in ALIENS) stars in the
show...
* May 21st : Bill Paxton will be a guest on the
The tonight Show with Jay Leno. Tape this one!
Thanks for visiting my page! :)
May 15th
If anyone can recall, the TV channel FOX aired a show "Stopping the Stalkers." It was about
stalkers 'n stuff. Anyway, (I didn't watch it..I swear) it was narrated by Yaphet Kotto, who was
'Parker' in ALIEN. At least he is still working for FOX... :)
A new Saturday Night Live Alien Reference! Thanks to Skeeter :)
May 15th
More references! Just Click Here to read all of 'em. Thanks to Mark for the
magazine one, the foxtrot reminder (for me to cut it out myself!!!) and the music one (under
other...) Merci to Nootch for the Muppet babies confirmation!
Oh yeah, the cartoon strip "FoxTrot" is having an ALIEN Resurrection inspired story now. It just started today...but it involves
renting the video. :) Check it out!
And Boba89! I can't reach you with e-mail. I can answer your question, but you have to accept
email! :)
May 15th
Bill Paxton (Hudson in ALIENS) will be on "The Tonight Show with Jay
Leno" on May 21st. (That is Thursday!) Click here to
go to the official site for the show.
May 14th
Whoa, Starchild did some picture grabbing! Many of the pics are in relation to the Cannes Film Festival, where Ryder, Weaver and Jeunet are
involved as judges. I put the pictures on the new "Alien people (even more) Pictures" page,
and the "Alien 4" pictures page. Just link to them from my main page. :)
And Click Here to read a text file on what the Cannes site has to
say on Winona Ryder, Sigourney Weaver and J.P. Jeunet. There is some interesting info!
"Brand New Cherry Flabour" is a definite possibility by the sounds of one bit....and JP
Jeunet directed some music videos. And James Cameron also directed a video to a band
"Martini Ranch" that had Bill Paxton as a member. I'll post more about that later... :)
And for all those who gossip; it looks like Matt Damon and Winona Ryder are a couple. A Big thanks
to Starchild for todays news 'n stuff! :)
I will be on a school course for all of next week...I don't know if I'll access to my email or even
a computer (!!). So, if you email me, I don't think I'll be able to answer it on the 23rd, or
maybe in the middle of next week. I will do a large update that Sunday. So, keep on sending me
your mail (nothing big please, my mailbox is sorta limited by size) and I'll respond to it
then.
:)

May 10th
Starchild found out a bunch of stuff! Thanks! Firstly : A new picture is at the ALIEN 4 picture
page...it is a Weaver pic from the Entertainment Weekly May 8th issue.
The back of the box of the widescreen (rental) video says there is a "making of" documentary on AR
included." And yeah, I agree with ya starchild, this is likely the same ALIEN 4 special that was on
HBO in November of '97. Or, it could be the one that
was on all the movie-promo reels, and the THX released videos. Oh well.
Some info on Weaver's Buick car ad voiceovers was also in the magazine :
The Ad: City life is romanticized in three spots featuring
sophisticated couples escaping (example: Newlyweds fleeing their
wedding)
The Pitch: (I think this is what she says in the ads) "Park Avenue by
Buick. The Power of Understatement."
Why her?: "We were looking for a voice that is rich and passionate,"
says Nina Abnee, group account director of McCann-Erickson Detroit.
"And she is such a great actress that she can enhance the luxury image
in a natural way."
And another Alien Resurrection maker is gonna be a judge :
[from Variety] Jean-Pierre Jeunet will also be at
the Cannes Film Festival. He is the President of the Jury that will
judge short films. Thanks Starchild!
May 9th
Chestburster has some good news :
Just some Alien sighting news - kind of. The Simpsons Episode: "Bart's Dog
Gets an F" containing a reference to the Alien's archenemy the Predator will
be airing on Monday on most sydicated stations. So alrighty peoples, set your VCRs! The rest of
that episode is quite funny as well. :) Whew, I've done alotta updates today :)
May 9th
For those of you who don't know, Ralph Brown,
who played '85' in Alien 3, has landed a role in Star Wars Prequel 1. The official
Starwars site has gone through a wee revamping as well...
Anyway, Ralph plays the role of Ric Olie, who "sits at the helm of an exotic spacecraft in the thick
of danger. An expert in his field, Ric will pass on important skills
to young Anakin Skywalker during the course of the adventures ahead." A picture of him in costume
is here :
A bigger version is at the Official Site.
May 9th
Skeeta tells me that : The June issue of CINEFANTASTIQUE has an interview with
James Cameron as part of their Top 50 Most Powerful People list.
James is number four, Joss Whedon is #23, David Fincher is #24, and
Sigourney Weaver is #25. Ridley Scott is #32, and Jean Pierre Jeunet
rounds it out at #47. Thanks Skeeter! Now, I can understand Cameron...but Joss Whedon at #23??
Jean Pierre Jeunet at # 47??? I think I'll get this mag just to read thier reasoning behind it...
:)
A slight Alien Reference has been added with regards to the taco-bell /
Godzilla commercial. Not 100%, but it still counts.... Thanks to Kevin for the reference!
The SERENA DAWN SPACEPORT is now open! This
place also has ALIEN FUZION, which is like a role-playing game based on
ALIENS and its worlds. Alotta work has been done on this game, so why don't you give it a look? :)
May 7th
Owen just sent me a *great* translation goof from the Japanese ALIENS Directors cut (on VHS!!).
Just go to the ALIEN movies FAQ page and click on the
'japanese connection' link. This goof is sure to give you a good laugh. :) Make sure to thank Owen
for the news! :)
The ever so reliable University server (From which most of this page is located) went down for about
8 hours today (in the morning.) Sorry for the inconvience! :)
May 7th
The following bit of news was kindly swiped from Cinescape
Online. It looks like David Twohy, who helped (re)write Alien 3,
is gearing up for the sci-fi/horror pic Pitch Black with
Tom Engelman and Erica Huggins producing. Set to shoot this
summer in Australia, Twohy's movie is being described as
Scream in space by those affiliated with the project.
May 7th
2 more Alien References, from Jeopardy (Thanks Skeeter!) and Abuse (Thanks
Mark!) This section is becoming one of my favorites! So give it a Visit!
This set of posters appeared at Ebay and is up for
auction. Click on the smaller pic to get the bigger one. This is the official UK teaser poster
set for Alien Resurrection.Cool set!
I moved around some of the older news sections to the..well..older news sections, and I'm gonna do
the same to the events section.
May 6th
As Skeeter tells me, 'Entertainment Weekly' gave the Alien Resurrection
video a B+. Not bad! There is also a nice picture of Weaver in a
Black dress. The movie is also availible for rental in Widescreen. I
watched it, and didn't notice anything new, but as James points out, the 'headburster scene' is
*much* more noticeable. Ahh, the joys of the 'pause' button. :)
As said before, the previews in front of the video also include 'Prince Valiant' (I don't know what
to make of this movie!), and one for Alien Resurrection : the Game.
Also, the X-files trailer is the same trailer that
ran in front of the theatrical release of Alien Resurrection. Well hey, I thought it was cool. :)
May 5th
The Alien Resurrection video is out! In runs at 108 minutes (1 hour, 48
minutes.) The movie previews before it are : Dr. Dolittle,
The X-files Movie, The Firestorm home video, Bullworth
and another one I think. I'll have a review of the movie up soon! So send me your reviews and
I'll stick 'em up!! :)
May 5th
I finally got a rough version up of the picture pages. They can be linked at through the main site.
There are not any 'screen grabs' or actual pics from the movie, but more of a 'behind the scenes'
and non-mainstream pics. Geocities was giving me a hard time, so the ALIEN and ALIENS pictures will
have to wait until later to go up, as well as several more ALIEN 4 pics and Weaver photos. Doh!
Remember, these pictures can be sent to me by you! If you
have a neet pic that you would like the world to see, just Mail Me and tell me about it!.
Hey, do you have some Fan Fiction? Did you draw an ALIEN? If so, then I
can display it for you, and add it to the Fan Fiction page. Just tell me
about it!
And on the 5th (just one more sleep!) Alien Resurrection in released on
video. Send me your review
of it! I'll post it up on the Alien Resurrection review page! Thanks.
May 5th
OH yeah! the "Alien Movies Resource Page"
is now ranked 37th in the world at World Charts. So remember to Vote for this page if you
haven't already! :) Thanks!
May 4th
There is still time to vote for me at World Charts! Just Click Here to
vote for this homepage
as one of the best on the 'net. It is currently ranked 48th in the
world. Lets make the top 30! Thanks!
A new area will be going up on the 'ol page, dealing with various bits of
fan-fiction. Like stories, art, comics or whatever fans make that is
based on the ALIEN series. I will be adding a few links to fan written
scripts on the net as well.....so if you have something, just Mail Me and tell me about it!
May 3rd
A rought start of the religion-symbolism area of the FAQ page is up 'n running. Your
contributions are VERY appreciated! Just Mail Me and
tell me what ya think. :)
I also added a wee bit onto the Nitpic section as well. Thanks to Chris Cook for his help there.
Stay tuned for more!
May 2nd
I got 2 more Alien References, big-thanks to Mark! They are from 'The Mask'
and 'Whose Line is it Anyway?'
If your dying to see some ALIEN prop pics, then head to Planet
Hollywood Online and click on the egg pic thing. They have some pics...but the quality is
actually quite bad..it looks really unproffesional. Like 16 colors, etc. Once Planet Hollywood
stops showing them I'll stick 'em up on my site. They also have some
pictures of the ALIEN in a planet hollywood, that Randy C. took pics of and are on my
soon-to-be-resurrected ALIEN series picture pages. :) All in good time... :)
May 1st
I added a fine Alien Resurrection Review,
written by Owen S. Thank you Owen!
I will have some more site updates and additions tonight I hope. I should get the first mini-paper
on the 'religion in the movies' posted to the FAQ page fairly soon. Do you want to contribute?
Then
please Mail Me!
April 30th
Starchild clears up the H.R. Giger credit thing : I found out that the demo tape that I
have is of the first print of the film. It turns out that the second
prints of the film contained the HR Giger credit. The tape I have was
sent out waaaaay back in late Febuary/early March.
He also says that : Winona Ryder is on People Magazine's list of the most beautiful people
of 1998 to vote for! Here is the address to vote:
E! channel and Cinescape Online, as well as a few of my sources, have
reported that James Cameron is splitting up from his wife Linda
Hamilton! Moving trucks have been seen outside of their house and it
seems that much of the stuff being moved out all belongs to Cameron.
Reports say that Cameron has been messing around with another woman. I
guess when Cameron told people he was the "King of the World", he
thought he could have any woman he could want. Thanks for the news Starchild!
I'm also giving thelinks section a wee reformatting. IF you got a links,
please Mail me!.
April 29th
Thanks to Kevin, there is another Alien Reference, from the short series 'Red
Dwarf USA.'
April 29th
I'm outta exams! Woo-hoo! That tooka alot out of me. So, I should be responding to the billions of
emails I have gotten in the past couple of weeks today, as well as getting started on a slew of
updates and additions. So, for now I got another Simpsons Alien Reference.
thanks again Nootch!
April 28th
Holy cow! This page is now ranked 48th in the world at
World Charts. Thanks to ALL of ya that voted! This is
really quite a neeto honor, really. :)
Well, it looks like the novel of 'Brand New Cherry Flavour' sucks...but there are a few more ALIEN references. As well, there is also a Beavis
and Butthead addition. Thanks to skeeter! :)
I have 2 more final exams, and only after that will I respond to the millions of e-mails that have
been
piling up. Sorry for the delay!
April 26th
Do you remember World Charts? I do. So please vote for the
'Alien movies resource page' by clicking here! Thanks...lets see if this page can
get into the top 50! :)
Also, Iv'slv426 says that : If you notice the end credits, you can spot
'Original Alien Design by H.R. Giger', the credit though is not given at
the begining credits (which is where it matters the most), but it is
given at the end. This is where I thought I saw it on the theatrical release... thanks
Iv'slv426!
St. Just has sent me another great Alien Reference, this time from 'The
Critic'......thanks!
April 26th
St. Just coughed up some Alien References, in Seinfeld and Terminator 2.
Yep, they may be a weak link to the ALIEN series, but they are there! Read 'em!
Skeeter also contributed to the references section, with a DJ's work. This is listed in the 'Other'
section of the References area.
Also, it looks like the book for which the (rumoured) upcoming movie "Brand New Cherry Flavour"
(starring Ripley and Call :) has an Alien reference in it. Thanks
tonnes Skeeter!
Starchild has seen the video for Alien Resurrection (the demo) and here
are his observations! :
The pan&scan version of the tape is encoded in THX and is in Stereo
Sound (This might change to Dolby for the final release). There is NO
added footage or footage taken from the theatrical release. The opening
shot to the film is in Letterbox Format, then shifts to pan&scan when it
shows Ripley in the Clone Generation Tube. You also get to see more of
the special effects even better on the video release (just like what
slv-426 said a while back......). The other nice thing about the video
release is that you can pause and rewind or fast-forward you favorite
parts (letting you understand the film even better.....) In all, I was
pleased with what Fox did for the video release. Oh, HR Giger DID NOT
recieve ANY kind of credit in the video release version of the film.
Typical of Fox. If the film is not in Dolby then it
will be in Stereo sound (THX helps out alot for this film.) Everything
you saw in the theatrical release is there for the video release(Dr.
Wren's death looked even gorier in pan and scan......).
Starchild also saaaaid this : Oh, and one more thing, Alien Resurrection WILL NOT be on pay-per-view
until 55-days
AFTER it's release on video. (Which is May the 5th!)
I'm still busy studying for finals so I'll answer email within a few days.
April 25th
'Nootch' sent me another Alien Reference, from MST3K. Read it!
I was also getting some javascript errors (that didn't affect anything) when I used the http://travel.to/aliens URL to get to my page...Until I figure
out what was going on, I changed the main page to read the http://www.ucalgary.ca/~naflande address.
Just so ya know.
April 25th
The cool Chestburster sent me some
news....I checked my mail late and missed it! Check for repeats :)
The Simpsons episode "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadassss Song" is airing
tonight [Friday] on most syndicated stations. That's the one with several aliens
references.
April 24th
1 Final exam down, 4 to go! (ack!) but, for better news;
FOX is now airing a TV advertisement for Alien Resurrection on video.
The voiceover just says 'Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Alien Resurrection, Rent it on video.' (or
something similar.:) The ad has a bunch of clips, mostly of Sigourney Weaver and the Aliens mucking
about. This is for the movie RENTAL release of May 5th. Watch for it!
The Author of 'Brand New Cherry Flavour' is Todd Grimson, and you can get reviews for the
book of allotta horror websites. Thanks Skeeter!
April 22nd
Oh my! I didn't update yesterday! What has the world come to! FINAL EXAMS, thats what. I am not
going to do any other updates (and I got some reviews, bloopers, religeon in the movies, trivia,
picture pages and more to add) until after my exams. Just the news goes on!
Skeeter reminded me to remind ya'll of this :
Sigourney Weaver's next film may be "Dr. Neruda's Cure For Evil" but
shes playing supporting character Susan Bracken, that's what the book
nuts say, anyways. They needed a very tall, brown haired, brown eyed
actress for the part and i guess they got her! Thanks Skeeter!
Thanks to all of my visitors that have made my counter go up to 17000! And the
'ALIEN Movies Resource Page' took a great leap at World Charts, moving up to be ranked now as the 61st best
homepage in the world! Cool! If you havn't voted, or want to vote again, just
click here and please give me
a vote! They all count. :)
April 22nd
Here is som'more info on James Camerons next project, this info was basically ripped off (by myself)
from EON magazine (who must have ripped it off someone
else! :);
"Prince of the world" James Cameron has optioned the rights to
Kim Stanley Robinson's best selling MARS TRILOGY (RED
MARS, GREEN MARS, BLUE MARS... mentioned last month
in this column) as a possible TV series. The Hugo and Nebula
award winning series follows a crew of a hundred Earthlings who
colonize the angry red planet and through futuristic technology,
live to be 300 hundred years old.
April 22nd
Remember folks, a nice ALIEN reference occurs in Ewan McGregor's new movie, 'Nightwatch.' It
occurs
in the area shown in this picture :
Ewan goes there a few times, just remember to watch for it! (it is obvious, trust me.)
April 20th
Starchild found this out : Sigourney
Weaver WON at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards!
This is Great Britain's(and Europe's I suppose) version of the Oscars.
Anyhow, she won Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Ice Storm.
Thats coooool! Go Weaver!
And Mr. Star found this out as well :
The storyline for 'Brand New Cherry Flavour" is....;
A jilted woman revenges herself on a man by having a shaman put a curse
on him. She is Lisa Nova, a Hollywood filmmaker. The curse is so
successful the man's wife decides to reply in kind by getting her shaman
to put a curse on Lisa. Curse versus curse.
April 20th
Fun (and useless trivia) Fact! The psychotic prophylactic effects
in Killer Condoms
(yes, just imagine a condom with teeth) were supervised by the brilliant H.R. Giger,
the guy who created the "Alien" and "Species" creatures. At least the guy
can get work! :)
April 20th
The Entertainment Tonight weekend 'thang showed the James Cameron 'behind the scenes'
on Mad About You finale taping....it seems that James is getting allotta
attention lately...
April 19th
Remember! Alien Central! message board.
Let your views be known!
Remember! Vote for me here at World Charts! I won't be listed if ya'll don't vote. So

From the Alt.cult-movies.alien newsgroup (Posting credit to Steve Z.)
;
The £5.99 edition of predator/predator 2 has
trailers for: alien resurrection and alien resurrection the P.C. game as
well as the Alien box set.
Alien box set! Cool!
April 18th
It seems that the 'Alien movies resource page' is now non-exsistant in webcrawler's search engine. So there goes a LOT of visits to
my page! You may notice a large decrease if you ever visit the 'ol nedstat counter. :)
I also can't seem to get my page on Yahoo. I have tried
many times. Any suggestions? Maybe you can submit my site to them? (I need help on
this one! Thanks!)
April 18th
It is time now in my world for FINAL EXAMS. I will be done them in a week and a half. I will
still read email and update, but just remember that I'm studying hard instead of updating every
single day. :) And for
all other readers who have exams now...Good Luck!
April 18th
Ain't it cool news has news on Ridley Scott's next
movie. It is about the Tristan & Isolde legend. Ahhh, Ridley will be doing a fantasy movie! Cool.
Read more about it by clicking Here.
April 17th
"Nightwatch," starring Ewan McGregor, is out now. The add for it on TV uses a cue from the
ALIENS soundtrack....and the movie itself has has an Alien Reference. Cool!
April 16th
I'm trying out a new chat thing. It is called ALIEN CENTRAL is is for all of YOU to spout
your interests in the ALIEN series of movies. Please contribute to this message board!
April 16th
Hey, the upcoming 'brand new cherry flavour' might just not be Alien 5. It could be based on the
book 'brand new cherry flavour.' I was just testing you. :)
April 16th
Entertainment tonight had a overview of the 'Mad About You' finale with James Cameron in it. I
missed ET, does anyone know what happened?
Another Reference has been added on the 'Drew Carry Show', courtesy of St.
Just.
April 15th
The URL to see that video for Apple directed by Ridley Scott can be found
Here. Slow connection, but good download.
And Starchild was think'n (I was thinking about this too) that the movie 'Brand New Cherry Flavour'
could be Alien 5, as it has both Ryder and Weaver in it, is Sci-fi, will start in 3 years, and
Weaver will be directing.
Ya never know....
A few more things : I'm still sick, the nedstat counter has been down for the past few days, I added
a new table to the main page, only 2 days of school left, and I'll be adding a chat page very soon.
Stay tuned!
April 15th
Starchild snagged this one (thanks man!)

Weaver, Ryder To Judge at Cannes
PARIS (AP) -- Actresses including Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder,
Lena Olin and Chiara Mastroianniare will be part of the jury lineup at
next month's 51st Cannes Film Festival, a newspaper reported.
The 10-member jury also will include French rapper MC Solaar and
director Alain Corneau, the Journal de Dimanche reported.
Festival organizers, who formally announce the jury and films on April
23, say director Martin Scorsese will preside over the jury.
April 15th
Daniel H. (The real world's answer to Corporal Hicks) reminded me to remind y'all of this
point:
The ALIEN soundtrack (on CD) is out of print (AFAIK) and is getting more difficult to find. All
the other ALIEN series soundtracks are availible anywhere! (see the Cdnow links I got everywhere. :)
April 15th
World Charts foundation ranked the "ALIEN Movies Resource
Page" as '76th' best homepage in the world this week! That is an increase of 4 spots. Cool!
Now remember, all ya hafta do is vote for me...by just clicking
Here! Thank you for voting.
April 15th
Yep folks, I'm still sick. I have the flu that will not die. Ack!
But thanks to Ripleyanna for scanning the 'hollywood reporter' and scooping up some info on ALIEN
alumni! Here are the tidbits:
Ridley Scott is NOT doing "I am Legend" with Arnold Shwarzenegger
anymore. The film has been officially NIXED by the studio. Also, on a local cable show called
"Accidental Empires : The triumph of the Nerds" they were talking 'bout Bill Gates. And then
Apple. They then showed the first tv commercial for the Apple, which was directed by Ridley Scott!
They also had a few behind the scenes clips! So if you hear of the show, watch it. (I wish I had
known that it would have this.....
James Cameron may be doing a TV event soon, entitled 'green mars, blue
mars....or something like that. It involves a colony on mars. Read more about it Here or even Here.
David Fincher is currently working on
"The Fight Club" with Brad Pitt and Edward
Norton. He is also supposedly doing "Rendezvous with Rama with Morgan
Freeman Next.
David Twohy (wrote a draft of ALIEN3) will direct "PITCH
BLACK", which starts filming in June;
Walter Hill is currently developing an
as yet untitled feature.
Vincent Ward (co-writer of Alien 3) directed the upcoming film "What Dreams May Come" (with Cuba
Gooding Jr and Robin Williams, and budgeted at 70 million!) which should be out soon;
Jean Pierre Jeunet is taking a break.
April 14th
The May 5th release date, that Starchild knew about over a month ago, has basically been confirmed
by Blockbuster. They just changed the date for Alien Resurrection's video release to May 5th. Woo-hoo!
Any people from Norway reading this? If so, I got a question....when Alien 3 opened in your native
country, was it the normal theatrical version or a partial directors cut? If you can answer this,
please Mail me!.
April 13th
Ack! I'm still badly sick (*cough!*) so I'll try to respond to emails today.
Ron Perlman (Johner in Alien 4) turns 48 today. Happy birthday Ron!
I gots a question for ya'll. When you enter the official Alien
4 site's "Download"
section, there is a soundfile that plays...it says something like "this is straight from
the archives, ?? archeology is very hard to get. No-one has seen these ?? in years. Ya
wannit? Does *anyone* know where this sound file came from? Like what movie? I don't
remember this in Alien Resurrection. It does sorta sound like
Winona Ryder though....
April 12th
HAPPY EASTER!!!
April 12
A super-thank-you to Kim R., who sent me a whole lotta info on the "Facehugger box set,"
including what
was in this rare video treasure. :) The content list is at the bottom of the Cut Scenes page.
April 11th
While Starchild was looking at the Unauthorized Sigourney Weaver
page there was this bit of info;
that "Brand New Cherry Flavor" won't start filming for another three
years. This could coincide with Weaver and Ryder working on Alien 5 instead....Does ANYONE have
any more info on this???
And remember to vote for my page at World Charts, by just
clicking
Here!! Lets see if this page can break
the "80th" place barrier! Thanks, it would be great if you could vote. :)
April 11th
Please don't email me multiple times if I don't respond...I'm just sorta
sick (*cough!*) right now and I'll reply to them in a day or so. thanks!
:)
April 10th
Sigourney does the bunny hop! This info was snagged by Starchild form the
alt.fan.sig-weaver newsgroup:
TUESDAY, THE statuesque Sigourney Weaver
wants you to bring your kids to join a Bunny Hop to
raise money for the Society of Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center. Guests include "The Broadway
Kids'' \227 noteworthy young stars singing hit songs
from "Annie'' and "Beauty and the Beast'' \227 plus
Big Apple Circus stars, ballerinas from the School
of American Ballet, huggable clown "Silly Billy,''
Alex and his Dancing Poodles, Kevin Kruger and
his Party Kidz, and more. There's a parade from the
Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue and 59th Street to FAO
Schwarz.
April 10th
Both my TV-guide and Mark's TV guide for the week say that Alien Resurrection will be released on video on April
28th...But I'd still go with the May 5th date. As Starchild points out;
Anastasia is getting all of Fox's attention for the April 28th release.
April 10th
I saw the movie 'Nightwatch' (with Obi-wan...err..Ewan McGregor) last night,
and it had a wee Aliens reference. While Ewan is looking at a bottle with
some phermeldihyde (sp?) he starts to look closely at it like Burke in
ALIENS in the Med-lab. Then, he quickly puts his own hand on his face
like a facehugger,
and stumbles back! It was sorta short, like 5 seconds, but funny.
April 10th
More References have been added, regarding MST3K.
Thanks 'manofpern.'
April 10th
You know the new picture that I put up of an Alien 3 cut-scene? The one
with
Junior and the Alien? This one? Well, it is
actually a 'reverse' picture, the left should be right and the right should
be left. (Junior should be on the right looking left.) Just so you all know.
:)
April 9th
The VHS widescreen movies list page
has Alien Resurrection as being availible on May 27th. This is
likely
for purchase, and not rental. Cool! This page has proven reliable before.... :)
April 9th
Wow! A new main index header-picture-type thing. Beleive it or not, that
was the first change
since I started this page like 9 months ago.
2 new sections will soon be on the
FAQ Page.
They are :
"Religious symbolism" (primarily on Alien 3---Thanks Eric!),
and the "blooper list."
Yeah, the blooper list is the same thing that is on a few FAQ bits and
lists that are
around. But I'll make a nice list of "boo-boos" in the films. (Like Ripley's headset moving
around, editing mistakes, etc.)
Feel free to contribute by Mailing me with whatever
info ya got!
April 8th
All the TV References are in alphabetical order.
I have uploaded the Alien 4 and Alien 3 picture pages to geocities, but have to work a few things
out with that....in a week they should all be up. Oh, and tip of the day: DO NOT use geocities in
the day. Use it later at night...'cause it can be SLOW!!
April 8th
Ok! I added a scan of the ALIEN cutting of Junior. This scene was deleted from
ALIEN 3, but made
it into a 2 page spread in "Horrorzone" magazine...I'll get the exact number later. The original
scan was HUGE (well, like the size of 2 pages) so I skimmed it down a bit....Just take a look
at the Cut Scenes page, and go the the ALIEN 3 summaries!! This picture
is credited to "Amalgamated Dynamics." These dudes did the Alien costume and design things. So, it
is official...(please don't sue!)
April 7th
I added some references from Japan (thanks Owen!), from Red
Dwarf (thanks St. Just!), and a few that were on
WYSWD:A (Thanks MP!)
April 7th
I added a bit more Alien 3 info, like some more offenses. These sorta
came from a reliable dude, and the offense does fit the person. More
info this would be great! Anyway, off to the Alien 3 People
page!
April 7th
Geocities is slow! I can't seem to make a new page. Until then, the picture
pages will be offline. :( But, I did scan a nice pic of a deleted scene, that
shows Junior with the Alien behind him. I'll get that up, and the storyboards
of another deleted scene up as soon as I can. Thanks for visiting! :)
April 6th
The TV show "The Magnificent Seven" has Michael Biehn (Hicks) and Ron Perlman (Johner) as
main stars. The show isn't too bad either! Check it out! (It is a cool like western type 'o show.)
This site will pass 15,000 hits today! Thanks to all who have taken a peek at the ALIEN movies
resource page! (and extra thanks to contributors :) So, who will be lucky visitor # 15,000?
April 6th
Do you folks know Worldcharts? Well, I do. They are a
big, big entertainment chart page that categorizes ...well...entertaiment related things, like music
albums and TV. They just started to catergorize the 'worlds best homepages' (not biggee internet
pages,
but homepages) and my page, the "ALIEN Movies Resource Page", managed to
hit #80! Well, that made
me happy for a day. :) Thanks to all who visit & contribute!
So hey! take a visit to the Homepage Worldcharts, and please give me a few votes! ('cause that will
make me happy for a week! :)
April 5th
Paul Reiser and James Cameron to team up!!!!
Well, not really. BUT, James Cameron will make an appearance as himself on
the season finale of 'Mad About You,' which Paul Reiser stars in. For those
of you that don't know (how could you!) Paul Reiser played "Carter J. Burke"
in ALIENS, which James (king of the world)
Cameron directed. The finale is set to air on May 19th.
Think of the potential for an ALIENS reference! :)
April 5th
I added a great Alien Resurrection review by Chris D. over on the Alien 4 Review page.
April 5th
I added a few more Bill Paxton links on the Links Page
April 5th
Do you have any News, Comments on my website (to improve it!), pictures, or even cash donations you
would like to send me? Then just give me an e-mail
and I'll respond back! Thanks!
Quote of the day : "There's a little Carter J. Burke in all of us" -- Daniel H.

The CDnow special is almost over! It ends at like 6AM
on Monday. The special is this : Buy $20 bucks, get $10 bucks off. So, you could buy
the ALIENS
soundtrack and the ALIEN
3 soundtrack...and and then get that ALIEN
3 soundtrack for free! Remember, there are also the Alien
Resurrection and the Alien
Trilogy soundtracks are availible too! So get 'em! :)"
April 4th
Since I need some room on my Uni server space, I'm gonna take down the picture page for ALIENS...and
I'll have it back up in a week or so with pictures from Alien, Alien 3 and Alien 4. The new
pictures pages will be stuck on a geocities site, so they can have ALOTTA room for pics. I will try
to steer away from pics from the movies, and rather have 'rarer' and different pictures. Please Mail Me your pics!
April 4th
The Blockbuster website lists
Alien Resurrection with an April 28th
instead of May 5th as the release date. I'd still go with the May 5th date.
April 4th
And Starchild was snooping around and found out that the Alien
Resurrection
game will have 13 levels. The game is timed (so you have a limited amount of minutes to race to the
finish) and it has a 'tombraider' type of view. This is the game that the VHS widescreen videos had
the trailer to. Click Here to go
to the official game site.

I added another picture of the Oxburster from the Alien 3 cards. I had the wrong pic posted up
before! The picture ain't that great, but it is the 4rth one down in the Cut
scenes - Alien 3 section. I also added a brief written description of the OX scene from
the guy who did the storyboards for Alien 3. Cool!
April 3rd
Starchild picked this up from THE UNAUTHORIZED SIGOURNEY WEAVER
PAGE;
"Brand New Cherry Flavor" is apparently the film that will be Sigourney's directing debut and will
star WInona Ryder. The plot will supposedly pertain to vampires living in Hollywood.
I don't know if this one is true....
April 3rd
While flipping through a few older magazines that came out when ALIEN 3 was being made, I found the
following tidbits : In an older 'Starlog' mag, (Batman returns symbol on the cover) they published
storyboards for Alien 3. A few
storyboard strips showed a deleted scene, while another strip showed a scene
that wasn't filmed, but
must have made it to the script stage! (I can see why it was cut... :) I'll take 'em to a scanner
and put them up in a few days.
Also, an old magazine (that I can't remember the name) has a nice picture of the Alien behind
Junior, before he runs into the waste disposal unit. This is another Cut
Scene from Alien 3. Its a fairly big pic, I hope I can scan it with good quality.
April 2nd
Yikes! I'm updating again today! :) 'Orbita' sent me a few more references, for MST3K and MAD
magazine. I will also make the 'tv references' in alphabetical order, just so it is easier to read.
So take a look at The Referenecs!
April 2nd
For all the people who have emailed me : I'm sorry for the delay on email
responses, I'll answer them all today.
And folks, I do not have Joss Whedon's email address, So please don't ask
me for it! :)
April 2nd
"Iv'slv426" recently saw Alien Resurrection via
satelite at his home, and noticed a few things regarding the Pan and Scan
version (tv
format); [I didn't know it was available for broadcast with a 'dish
now!]
The first few minutes (DNA mix intro and the first Auriga flyby) will be in
letterbox, while the rest was converted to Pan and Scan. As well,
the special effects are more noticiable on TV than in the movie theater
(That could be good or bad, depending if you liked them the first time
around!) Thanks Iv-slv426!
April 1st
In an interview with CNN last night, Sigouney Weaver has stated she will no longer be involved with
Alien 5. This occured only moments after Brandywine (the production company that made the
previous films) officially split from Fox. Why the split? Well, it looks like Joss Whedon has
signed with FOX to write the next of 3 ALIEN films!
Click here for the FULL story!

YA remember the Claylien resurrection spoof that MAdtv aired? Want to see
it? Well, it looks like there is a sorta good chance it will be repeated! Starchild mailed
'em, and this is the response from an official dude at MADtv:
"
The episode in question has not been rescheduled yet. It will probably
air sometime this summer. Check again in late June to see if we have
locked down an airdate yet."
April 1st
Alien Resurrection will be encoded in Dolby Digital, as Starchild found listed at the official site. So,
if you have a Dolby decoder system, you'll get some great sound!
Ah! The brand new
The Complete ALIENS
companion book has been delayed a few weeks in release. So, if you order it, it'll be shipped
the moment it is released now at
Amazon.com. Now,
what else is released in a month or so? :)
And there is a fixed picture of Sigourney in Diamond Studded Ray-bans from the March 30th

I now have a Merchandise section, with links to places to order ALIEN
soundtracks, movies and books. Give it a look!
Remember, the brand new
The Complete ALIENS
companion book is released on Wednesday at Amazon! Click on the link for more info. Thanks!
Now, ye all know that Sigourney Weaver is doing Buick commercials on TV now.
Well, Michael now informs me that the "CalFed"commercial with
what sounds like Winona Ryder aired. Winona has a fairly distinct voice, so
remember to watch lots of TV to hear the ad! Now if only Ron Perlman would
do advertisements.....(Watch him in the TV show "the Magnificent Seven"
instead. :)
I've started to make a pictures page, that will have not a large focus on pictures for the actual
movie, as alotta sites have 'em. So if you have any pictures of models, or non-mainstream alien
releated stuff, feel free to send it to me and I'll stick it up for all to see.
CDnow has extended its 'buy $20, get $10 off'
deal....so you hafta get the Alien
3 soundtrack!
Another 'Simpsons' and 'Animaniacs' reference info at the good 'ol ALIEN
movies Reference page. Thanks to "An Alien Fan."
Okay folks, the groovey Starchild searched all across the 'net, and found these
pictures & descriptions; (thanks bud!)
From : Entertainment Weekly Online!
Alien tentacles seemed to escape from her hair, while her dress suffered
from a bad case of Ice Storm-style ennui. "She's normally a standout," laments
Melissa. Adds Pike: "The dress looked flimsy. Plus she didn't walk on those heels
too well."

Sigourney also got the award for "Worst walk-on appearance at the
Oscars" from Entertainment Weekly.
The next few pics are of Sigourney Weaver and Winona Ryder, they can be found at the Hollywood Online website;
Hey, what about me? I gave birth to a friggin' ALIEN this year!"
Yes, indeed, Sigourney birthed an ugly ol' alien this year, who then got sucked out of
a spacecraft window drop by drop. How come we can't sic Sigourney on Barney,
then? She'd dispatch him in no time. Anyway, Sig wore an architectonic outfit
with these wild high heels that had the whole audience praying she wouldn't fall
off. A delight as always.

I added another reference to the Reference section, from St. Just regarding a
certain Koontz book....
As reported at Weyland Yutani Special Weapons
Division Aliens, the new issue of Cinefex (#73) has a nice 19 pages on Alien
Resurrection. It is a must have! Why? Well, just go Here for more info! :)
Okay, this message is kinda important to me, so please read it. :)
It has come to my attention that a few websites are
taking images and information from this news page, and claiming it as their own. Now, I can
appreciate why this would happen, it could be sent to you by another internet surfer, and usually I
would just let it go, but one specific website
(you know who you are) directly uses images from this news page
to
theirs. Many, if not the majority of the images, such as the official rental and video release
posters of
Alien 4, have been sent to me by private individuals....for use specifically on my page. I give
credit wherever I can. I don't want to sound
like a weenie, but hey, a few of these pictures are meant for my use on my page; I have
permission
from the 'scanner' of the images.....do you see what I mean? At the very *least,* if you use some
info I wrote here, provide a link
back to my site, or ask to reproduce the images, and give credit. I spend allota time and effort
making this page
what it is, and it does get me
quite upset to see the work and efforts (of others) that are displayed on my site, going
uncredited on other sites. As well, the
written material is done by me, and copyrighted by me; this may not specifically pertain to the
general news area, but it does to the other content on my site. Please keep that in mind.
Thank you for listening. Now back
to the news!
Here are a few cool tidbits in the world of ALIEN courtesy of
Starchild;
A recent show was talking to stars who do TV commercials, and Sigourney Weaver
said she does voice-overs for the Buick commercials. So the next time you see a
Buick ad on TV, it could be Sigourney's voice!
FOX is spending over $1.7 million dollars on advertising for the video
release for Alien Resurrection. Whew! I wonder if that will sell videos...
And folks, the OFFICIAL release date for the VIDEO rentals is MAY the 5th. Got it?! This is
information from the biggee distribution websites!
And here is a picture of Ripley at the Oscars. This is from the 'Entertainment Tonight' website,
and no, she does not have her Diamond Studded Ray-bans from Harry Winston on. :)
There is another reference added Here, from the playstation game 'resident
evil 2', thankya Lonekatz!
I added an Alien reference from 'cartoon planet' in the References section.
Thanks to LoneKatz!
Okay! I reformatted a news 'thang, everything this year in ALIEN news is now at Old News page 3. You can also check out even older news (from August of
1997) from the links at the bottem of this page. I kept on a chunk of this month to the new news
page, just so everyone can catch up. All the images can be found on the old news pages....but when I
do move most of the images away on a separate pictures account (at geocities) you'll likely see a
buncha broken links. But not for now!
I also deleted about 800K of unused html, .jpgs and .gifs from my uni server. If you find a missing
image / link / whatever, please e-mail me and I'll fix it ASAP.
One last thing; please don't bookmark this page, as It may change its URL again in a few days (or
more.)
Thanks!
Don't adjust your sets! I just readjusted the news page format. Later tonight I'll put most of the
news on this page (January 1998 - March 1998) in the News Archives. I will then quickly make up a
picture page (at geocities) to hold all the pics (and more!) There may be a few layout
differences between Internet Explorer and Netscape....but nothing big.
Hey folks, you know those CDnow symbols I got on my page now? Well, here is a reason to use
'em...There is actually an amazing deal whereby if you buy $20 bucks worth of Cds 'n stuff, you get
$10 off the order. No, I'm serious. Give it a look! But remember, that special is ONLY in place
until March 30th! Only a few more days! So please use the link at my Alien
3 Music page, or the wee ones above. :)
I mean, Come ON... the Alien 3 soundtrack is only $8.49! This is the
Cheapest it will every be! So help out Goldenthal and get it. :)
I think the release date of the Alien Resurrection Laserdisc is May 27th,
for those of you who are interested. :)
Oh yeah, Sigourney Weaver was at the Oscars...she presented an award, I forget which one. She wore
'diamond studded ray-bans' from H. Winston as well. Pricey!
Super-Starchild sent me a few scans of the OFFICIAL video release posters for Alien Resurrection. Just click on the smaller picture for the larger one. And
for those folks who think this news section is TOOO BIGGG.. you're right! I'll make a new one, and
transfer the pics to the picture section at the end of this month. Thanks for your patience! :)
I've added a few CDnow! links on my webpage. These are a special link from my page to the biggee
CDnow one. Please use it to order 'stuff! AND get the Alien 3
soundtrack from them! It is only $8.49! (As well as the movies.)
Just go to my Alien 3 music page and use the Cdnow link there. Why the
links? I get a
wee (wee) commision, and If I get enough orders through my page, I'll use the accumlated 'commision'
as a contest for a free Cd / movie from this page! (Or something sorta similar.) So please use the
CDnow links!
Music!
MOVIES!
Alien : Resurrection is up for some Saturn awards. They are :
* Best Special Effects
* Best Costumes
* Best Direction (JP Juenet)
* Best Supporting Actress (W. Ryder)
* Best Actress (Riple...err Sigourney Weaver)
* Best Science Fiction Film
It should be able to 'nab a few.
The biggee retailer list now has Alien : Resurrection set for video
RENTAL release on May 5th...just like what Starchild told me a long time ago :)
The Alien Resurrection demo video is making its way through all the video
retailers now!
I will add a few more references that have been kindly snagged from the Special Weapons Division site. Great site!
Give it a peek!
And of Course, James Cameron, the dude who directed ALIENS as well as a little boat movie, had his
"TITANIC" win 11 academy awards, including Best picture, best director, and most of the sound and
visual effects awards. Way to go Jim!
I added some pictures of the ALIEN 3 cutscenes from the Alien 3 cards. They are at the
Cut Scenes Main page and even more can be found within the Alien 3 section.
Enjoy!
More TV References have been added, courtesy of Mark. Thanks Bud!
here is some great news from the Alt.cult-movie.alien
newsgroup : That a new book, titled "The Complete Aliens companion" at Amazon Bookstore.
This is written by Paul Sammon, who also wrote "Future Noir : The Making of Blade
Runner" which is a fantastic and *must have* resource of info for that movie. (I have it, and it is
great.) The new book is a paperback, 320 pages, published by Harper Prism, ISBN 0061053856. It
is to be published on April 1, 1998. Cool! Click Here for more.
This should be a good one! (Thanks to Jack M. For the newsgroup posting. :)
Click for larger picture
Okay folks, I added another 'Anamaniacs' reference to the brand-spanking new References section. Thanks to Kdawg!
As well, I hope to add an ALIEN series games section (for emulators 'n the games, nothing ground
breaking!) as well as making
a picture section for all the .jpgs and .gifs I've been stashing for years....as Geocities just
doubled the homepage space to 6 megs! (that is bigger than my entire University server space!
A big thanks to Kdawg for the newz logo. Tops! His page is tops also. Give it a looksie at FIORINA 161
Whew! I think I'm caught up in emails. I also added a somewhat rough version of my
ALIEN series References page. However, I need your help! Please contribute
by Mailing Me with any info...after you visit the
References page. :)
Okay folk, I have a massive mid-term today, so I'll answer all the e-mails
later in the day. (Sorry for the delay.)
And, the "Alien 5 script segment" which was posted to the
alt.cult-movie.alien newsgroup a week ago (my server never picked it up)
is fake. Very fake. Nothing but fake. So don't believe any rumour site
that says that it is the 'real thing.'
Canada's 'Space Channel' will be airing "ALIENS" on Saturday (check local listings canuncks!),
and if it is similar to the last time ALIENS was aired on this channel, it
will be the 'TV directors cut version,' which includes the 'Sentry Guns,'
'Daughter,' and 'First name' scenes. Check it out!
As well, the University Server was down for several hours last night, so
blame it on them if this page was 'nonexistant' for that time. :)
AND I'll try and make it to a scanner today, to add a few pictures to the
'cutscenes Alien 3' section. Whew!
Whew! It snowed 38 centimeters overnight and all schools (And even
University woo-hoo!) was cancelled. So I had a coupla minutes to spare, so
I basically finished the "Alien references" section, and will put that up
at the end of the week. For now, just go to Weyland Yutani Special
Weapons
Division : Alieins, as this page has many of the pictures of the
references (mine will be a basic list,) and a good chunk of the
same reference material. Give it a peek!
As well, I added some pictures to the Alien 3
People page, with about 5 more prisoner pics to come....at the end of
the week. I will also include links to all the Alien 3 person pictures at
the official Alien 4 site, so you wont'
have to log-in all the time to the sllooww "Alien Experience" section.
Ok! I have to get back to studying for a test.
One last note, my hits to this page have gone up 50% in the past week!
Thanks!
Recently, French Director Luc Besson (The Proffesional, La Femme Nikita) won
a few Cesar awards for his film, "The
5th Element." The Cesar is the top french award for film. When he won his 3rd on the day,
He congratulated Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Alien IV) for his brilliant directing style. Cool!
Luc Besson's films are fantastic, give 'em a look.
James Cameron appeared on a late, late night talkshow on Friday. I missed 99% of it! What did he
say on Aliens????
I did catch "Movie Magic" on Discovery channel (The Canadian version), and they were talking about
animatronics. They had
a clip of "Ripley in powerloader Vs. Aliens," and talked to a Stan Winston trained person (I
think)....or was it the supervisor?....Hmmm....I can't recall anymore. But for all you Canadian
folks, it might be repeated this weekend. In the clip they mentioned that the Queen was operated by
14 (!!) people. I may have misheard this, so I'll make sure and check later. They also showed a
still of James Cameron 'behind the scenes.' Cool! Check for repeats.
The camera-happy CT sent me another pic of the Hasty Pudding awards with
Sigourney Weaver. It looks like I was a little to hasty in posting the last
picture by itself. (sorry, bad joke.)
A few days ago on CNN they had a minor bit on Stan Winston (You know, the
dude that did the Aliens creatures for Aliens?
Of course you knew that.) Well, they had a small clip of the 'facehugger
attacking Ripley in the med-lab' thing. Just so you know. :)
Thanks to Owen, there is now even more Japanese translation information on my
"Japanese Connection" page on the Alien
series FAQ page. Take a look!
Okay, so it is a month old, but here is some info on the Hasty Pudding
awards, which Sigourney Weaver won. Here is the info from 'Sel'...
The parade was barely covered on local news, but
I saw everything. Before she could get the award they made her put
on a Yale t-shirt and read lines from Ghostbusters. Then they made her act
like a gorilla and snatch a banana from one of the presenters! It was a
riot!
And the amazing Chantal sent me this picture of it...thanks! :)
It amazes me how a crap movie like Batman and Robin can get any
award....like Uma Thurman beating out Sigourney Weaver for 'Best Actress in
a Sci-Fi movie" at the Blockbuster awards last night. The good news was
that Winona Ryder kicked some Alien butt and landed the award for "Best
supporting actress ina Sci-Fi movie." Read more about it at the Blockbuster site.
The Blockbuster awards are being aired tonight (locally,
anyway.) Sigourney Weaver is nominated for best actress, and Winona Ryder is nominated for
best supporting actress. (Both in a Sci-fi series.) Check
out the Blockbuster website for more info.
Whoa...I got some cut-and-pasting job now. I got this off Dark Horizons, and they got this off the A5 rumour site, and he got that off
issue # 36 of SFX magazine. I am nicley copying it. Thanks fella's! This is an interview with Joss
Whedon; (Now go pick up the magazine!)
"If I write this movie and it has my writing credits on it then it's going to be on Earth....And
it's going to be VERY different from the last one"
"The studio talked about Alien Resurrection as a kind of place holder....they said, 'We
want to do Earth or the big Alien planet, but we're not convinced yet that this franchise has legs.
So we want to do a smaller story'. I don't think you can do that with Alien 5. I think the time of
people running around in a tin can has passed. You have to work on a broader canvas otherwise it
becomes an episode and not a new movie. The way Cameron exploded from the first to the second, you
have to do that again, and that means going somewhere new."
"One day I'm hoping to publish the endings of Alien 4 (jokingly)....I actually wrote five,
including the one that was shot. They're each between 15 and 30 pages long, with totally different
climaxes. Some of the characters didn't always survive, and there's a different way of killing the
Newborn every time.....I can't tell you because I may use one in Alien 5! I did the flying thresher
machine in the forrest; another one in a maternity ward in a hospital; one in the desert; and then
one in a giant junkyard... until I finally wrote the used version."
"I'm still feeling it out. I already have ideas, but I write most of the movie before I put pen
to paper. With Alien Resurrection, I used the first two movies as models, but with this one I can
promise you something new, something completely different from what's been seen before."
ALIENS director extroidinaire James Cameron won the Directors Guild of
America award for best director for "Titanic" on Saturday. This is a strong
indication on which way the Oscars will go. Read more about this Here..
"Wow," Cameron said in accepting the award. "This is one of the proudest moments of my life. It's
tremendous."
Veronica Cartwright, who played "Lambert" in ALIEN, had a wee (and I mean
wee) role on "The X-files" last night. She had a much larger role in the previous episode...and
guess what....she was abducted by Aliens. (the circle is complete...)
It is slow in the ALIEN world. But, A fellow asked me a question regarding the trailer music to
Alien : Resurrection.....; The trailer music to this movie is a piece
titled "Red Alert," and was composed specifically for movie trailers. You may have noticed it was
also used in a Starship Troopers trailer at the same time.
As well, there are 2 parts of music from ALIEN 3 that did not make it to the CD soundtrack,
these are when 1) Morse runs up to the leadworks (when he goes up the ladder), and 2) the great
part of music shown twice when the Weyland Yutani stooges are displayed outside FURY 161 prison.
(I love that small bit 'o music!
Remember, send me your ALIEN series
references!
Folks, I added a line of Javascript code to my webpage, it is used for the nedstat counter that I
have. (I highly recommend NEDSTAT as a counter). If there are
any problems with either Netscape or Internet Explorer (or Mosiac!) please email me and I'll take it
down ASAP.
I am also starting to work on the ALIEN series references page, please Mail Me with any references you can think of. I mean,
like the ALIEN series movie references in TV, Music, Movies etc. As a starting point if you are
interested in this stuff, I would
suggest going to Weyland Yutani Weapons
division page for a great peek inside ALIENS TV adds and music. But remeber to send me your
references!! Thanks.
Ya know, it's readers like you that make me wanna do this page.
Why do I saw this? Well, the super-Starchild sent me this image
below (70k). Click on it and you'll get the big 567k hi-res scan.
It is a poster ad of the video rental release, sent to video rental
retailers.. (Notice thewidescreen video in the photo?! Cool!) Now
remember, this is the RENTAL. As well, 'Scarlett' says that the film
distributor has said that the release is delayed ONE WEEK to
May 5th. Ya heard it here first! :) Thanks
starchild!
Oh, I won't be keeping the 567k image on my server for to long.. :)
Okay folks! It's finally up! The ALIEN series CUT scenes page. It includes
dialouges of the cut scenes, with pictures (well, not yet, but coming), and a very, very descriptive
look into the ALIEN 3 cut parts. Over 15 minutes were cut from that Film! Now you can read about
what was chopped. Also, there are links to pages with digitized movies of the cut scenes, and .wav
files. Please visit, and comment on it. Mail Me with
anything you wanna say. Okay! I hope you enjoy it.
And thanks to JR! :)
Did anyone see the X-files on the weekend? Was it just me, or did
that woman abductee really, really look / seem like Veronica Cartwright (I hope I got the spelling
right) ... you know, the one that played Lambert on ALIEN? I missed the credits, and I've been
wondering all day... :)
The wonderful Starchild sent me the following tidbits:
Alien Resurrection will be released in
it's Widescreen Format for the rental retailers on April 28, 1998!
Maybe you will be you will be lucky and your rental store will have
one...
As well, the the RENTAL street date is the may, the FOR SALE street
date for Alien : Resurrection may be much farther away.
The chicago Film Critics awarded "L.A. Confidential" as best picture, while the
peoples choice folks chose "Titanic." Which, has remained in the # 1 spot for the *5th* week in a
row, has passed $422 million dollars domestically, is the highest grossing movie ever worldwide, and
was directed by ALIENS director James Cameron. Go James!
Locally, I had the chance to watch ALIENS twice on TV. (I didn't though. :)
The FOX affiliate (KAYU 28 / Spokane) had the normal theatrical release. But, the brand new
(and generally crappy) local channel
had the "TV" special edition version. This inclueded the parts with the Sentry Guns. I just
caught the tail end of both of them, and the local channel put in the "name exchange" bit (so
that's how I knew :). Cool.
FOX sucks! :) Release the Special editions!
Here is an interesting quote from James Cameron, you can read the full
interview at the new EON Magazine, which
is a very nice site! And it just opened this month. Give it a 'gander!
DO YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS ON THE NEW ALIEN
MOVIE-ALIEN RESURRECTION?
CAMERON: I think it was fun. It wasn't scary though. I read an
interview with the director the other day where he said, and it's
such an amazing comment, "I never understood how someone can
be scared in a cinema." Dude, don't do an Alien movie. If that's
true, what the hell was he thinking? But I admire the film and I think
Sigourney is awesome and I admire the film visually. It's got some
fun moments in it, but it just wasn't scary which sure misses the
point to me.
I agree with James!
Here are some pictures from "Planet Hollywood" in California (More info on that later... I am doing
this from memory...). These were taken by Randy C and all credit goes to
him. Thanks Randy!
I also would ask you to please visit Randy's site, the USS Whitman. Nice!
The Groovy Yak's Elliot Goldenthal page has moved a few inches. It is now located Here. Go to it!
And don't forget DZ's monumental page devoted to Mr. Goldenthal. Visit that by going Here.
and don't forget my page which is on
the Alien 3 music. Thanks!
Alien Resurrection, after 89 days of North American Release, did not make it
into the top 60 grossing movies in North America for the past weekend. That means it
made less than $33,000. (And that would nicely take care of Sigourney Weaver's total salary
for the first Alien film.) :)
The 'Call' figure is limited to F.A.O. Schwartz stores. (is that the right spelling? :) Sooo...it
looks like Canada is skimped on merchandise again. Doh!
February 24th
The 'Call' figure for Alien : Resurrection is supposedly limited to
distribution as an 'exclusive' with a large American distributor. (the name does not come to mind,
I'll post more on that later.)
And I am in the midst of some SERIOUS exams, hence the lack of updates and work on my page. Gimmee
a week, please!
And ALIENS director James Cameron's "TITANIC has just
passed ET to become the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time. (not adjusted for inflation.)
It looks like it will pass Star Wars in a month or so!
Never Doubt James Cameron!
For you Goldenthal fans, (go Here), there are 2 upcoming releases;
The Butcher Boy
and
SPHERE;
which has a release date of TODAY,
on Varese Sarabande soundtracks. (about 35 minutes of Goldenthal action. ) From the advance
reviews, it is a
good one!
Okay folks, this is not ALIEN related...sorta. FOX has announced that it is going to support
DIVX. this is NEGATIVE. It is like 'pay per view' for each time you want to
see a movie you OWN. Please click Here for more info.
Alien Resurrection, after 82 days of North American Release, has had total box-office receipts of
$47,748,610 Million dollars. It came in 58th place last weekend with
at take of $45,543 bucks, down 63% from the previous week.
So, It looks like its final domestic take will be nicely rounded to $48 million credits. Not
nearly as much as expected, eh?
Remember, would the 10,000 visitor of my page please email me! hehehe. Ahh, the excitment!
:)
Starchild tells me that on the Alien 4
game site that the Alien : Resurrection game will be released in
FALL 1998! Yikes! talk about missing the boat, fox! As well, it seems that it will be
released only for Win95 and Sony Playstation formats. Doh!
WOW! I'm about to pass 10,000 total hits on my webpage. Thank you
one-and-all for visiting!
Please feel free to mail me with congratulations, money, and comments! I'll respond to 'em all.
:)
And if YOU are the lucky 10,000th visitor (check either one of my
counters) you don't win a prize,
but I would like to know who ya are, and when this momentous event occured. Thanks!
The super-dude director of Alien 3, David Fincher, will have a future laserdisc special edition
release of 'The Game,' with included deleted scenes and an alternate ending! For those of you that
have not seen it, I highly recommend it. (Thanks for the info,
Jeff!)
There was a 10 minute James Cameron segment on the canadian CTV show 'W5' last night. I found out
about it several minutes before it was to air...and it was mainly TITANIC based. They had one clip
from ALIENS...and thats it. Doh!
Titanic also is now in 3rd place alltime for domestic gross (not adjusted for inflation.) It is at
$370 million bucks. I'll post the ALIEN 4 box office results later today or on Thursday.
Not much news going on in the ALIEN world lately. But, I am still modifying and adding
on to my webpage. Future additions include;
An expanded Cut-scene section with a more detailed summary, and background on the SE / directors
cuts. As well, there will also be a detailed comparison and thoughts on the ALIEN 3 pre-release
edit / version. AND I will get around to making the 'references section.' It will
be up on the 1st week of march! Please send any comments to me, as I greatly appreciate them!
Cinescape has a film rumour site, for those of you
that don't know. They update it daily. Hey! I like this style of font. I think
I'll convert a good chunk of my page with this font.... :)
As reported on Alt.cult-movies.alien, the 'reported' released date of the Alien
Resurrection Laserdisc is May 28th. This was on the 'image' website, wherever that is.
More updates to come soon! (Exams have me busy! :)
Winona Ryder was voted as one of 'People' magazine's most fashionable / best dressed / (or something
material like that) actress. This was in the local paper, I think I got the info right....
Alien Resurrection, after 75 days of North American Release, has had total box-office receipts of
$47,654,416 Million dollars. It came in 42nd place last weekend with
at take of $132,992 bucks, down 22% from the previous week.
Thanks to Sel, I hope to have pictures of Sigourney Weaver, from the 'Hasty Pudding' awards..
stay tuned!
As reported on the Alt.cult-movies.alien newsgroup, it looks like FOX plans a Laserdisc release of Alien :
Resurrection. No news about upcoming DVD plans....Fox seems to be holding back
on this format.
I added a 'webring' & 'award' section. Click Here to see it.
And this news was swiped from Cinescape Online's
site;
Ripley To Return...For the Right Price
Great Britain's Teletext service quotes Sigorney Weaver dropping hints of her involvement in another
Alien film, but she
indicates that producers will have to pay at least $20 million to guarantee her services. "We are
all vastly overpaid in
Hollywood," Weaver explained. "But if John Travolta can get $22 million a movie [then] so should I.
It's a matter of principle.
The Alien franchise is highly lucrative, and I should be paid accordingly." Weaver did temper her
comments, however, with
demands for quality characters in addition to cold hard cash. "I only did Alien again when they came
up with a new, fascinating
Ripley. But I promise not to do more than 46 Aliens [films]."
Alien Resurrection, after 68 days of North American Release, has had total box-office receipts of
$47,474,377 Million dollars. It came in 38th place last weekend with
at take of $150,687 bucks, which is higher than last week!
Starchild sent me the official address of the Alien Resurrection game,
you
can go there by Clicking Here!
There are 2 versions of the game's trailer there.... :)
I should be finishing the webring section and 'Alien Nitpic' sections of my site within a few
days.....Stay tuned!
I just got some news on the Alien : Resurrection game from
'Starchild';
The Alien Resurrection game will be
for Windows 95, Playstation, and Saturn. It will be released in April, to match the time of release
of Alien : Resurrection on video. Thanks Starchild!
Does anyone know what is going on with the Alien : Resurrection
computer game? This is the one that was advertised in front of the ALIEN trilogy THX box set
widescreen editions.... Any news or info on this, please Mail Me!
Oh! the wonderful James Cameron's Titanic movie has now made over $310 million dollars, and has
become the fastest movie ever to reach $250 million (beating Jurrasic Park by a day) and $300
million. I assume that Titanic will easily reach $375 million....can it break $400 million bucks?
I will update more on Wednesday... but 'Renee'! I got your email, but your reply-to address does not
work. The answers to your questions are : 1) Jones or Jonesy, and 2) the excuse
that Ripley gave for the autopsy was that she had to check for an
'possible contagen'; the possibility of Cholera.
Here is a transcription of the ALIEN spoof that was on MADTv....
CLAYLIEN : RESURRECTION
Jesus praying to his father.....
Father : My son, there has been a change in plans. A scourge upon this
earth resins Christianity. You will die for the sins of mankind, but I need you to return to earth
in a different form….
A form that has been a box-office hit for 4 sequels!
Sigourney Weaver returns as JESUS
AT the cave where Jesus is buried, when all of a sudden the ROCK Wall is blasted
open, revealing RIPLEY / JESUS!
Crowd : I thought you were dead!
Ripley / Jesus : Yah, I get that allot.
Crowd : Are you here to give us the word?
Ripley : No, I'm back to kick some Alien butt!
Sigourney Weaver is BIGGER, BADDER, and HOLIER THAN THOU!
A setting having "Brett" looking for his Sheep, "Jonesy" (straight from
ALIEN)
Brett : There you are jonesy….
Jonesy :Baa baa baa (looks around, he notices the alien…..
An ALIEN is behind Brett, kindly taps him on the shoulder, Brett turns around,
Shakes and Screams, and the ALIEN 'tongues' him….
Narrator : These disciples are DEAD MEAT
A shot of a room, with a disciple, who answers the door….
Disciple : Who is it?
(behind door : Dave!
Disciple : Uhhhhh…Dave's not here, man.
(behind door : No, I'm Dave!
Disciple : Ok, cool.
Disciple Opens the door….
ALIEN : Hiss! Hiss!
Disciple : Whoa! Your not Dave!
Ripley : Peter, You knew about the Alien didn't you?
Peter : (slyly) No, I didn't.
Ripley : WHAP! Ripley gun-butts Peter Don't
Deny It!
Peter : I didn't… I didn't know…..
WHAP! Ripley
Hits Peter, and he starts to bleed a TONNE of white muck….
Ripley : Great, he's a Robot…(disgrunted)
Narrator : A Conspiracy bigger than the
Prophecies!
Ripley questions the 'white' Peter…
Peter : The Roman government has harnessed these Aliens for their
military use as instruments of destruction against Christianity everywhere.
a 'Thwap', 'Thwap' is heard, and then 2 disciples appear with 2 claymation
FACEHUGGERS attached to their faces. (very funny!)
Disciple : Umm, excuse me, Jesus? Aahhh we *really* could use a miracle
about now, huh?
Ripley : (Annoyed)Guys, I'm trying to talk to the gooey robot head!
Disciple : (mutters) Must be her time of the month.
Peter : You can't stop them…
Narrator : Its BIBLE - THUMPING ACTION
Ripley and the ALIEN are now battling, Ripley is in a Powerloader, while the ALIEN
is just hissing and fighting her.
Ripley / Jesus : You have my blessing to GO TO HELL!
Narrator : Put your faith in yet another Alien
movie..
Ripley takes the ALIEN and stabs it onto a cruxifix, while the ALIEN squirms and
screams…
Ripley : Eat that monster!
CLAYLIEN : RESURRECTION! In Space, No-One can Hear You pray!
Here is the latest Alien 5 rumour :
Ron Perlman is the only definite "yes" for Alien5. I would still count on
Sigourney Weaver and Winona Ryder signing on soon!
The 'CLAYLIEN' transcription will be online by tonight. I am also adding
a 'pop culture' section,
which is a section that details references to the ALIEN movies in other films, tv, spoofs, books
etc; So send in your 'pop culture references' to me!
Well, the MADtv spoof of Aliens was fantastic! The best spoof I've ever seen of
the alien movies. It was titled "CLAYLIEN" and it involved
Sigourney Weaver being resurrected as Jesus to kick some Alien butt. There was the 'last supper'
where a chestburster came out of a disciple (spraying blood everywhere.) I thought
the best part was when the facehuggers landed on a few guys, where they politly asked "Ummm
Jesus? we could really use a miracle now..." (Or something similar! :)
Anyway, I got it on tape, and I'll give a complete transcription of it later tonight.
FLASH! There will be an ALIENS spoof on 'MADtv' tonight. I just
saw an add for it on FOX, so check your local listings! I quote the add when I say :
I'm going to kick some Alien butt!
(Or something like that.)
Sorry for the late news, as it airs tonight, but I *just* found out! Full report on
Sunday...
I added some more links, including a few biggee Winona Ryder pages. While surfing, the following
bit of information
was seen at This Page
That Kenner has decided to recall the Alien Resurrection, Annalee Call action figure. I know if
this is true or not...
I've *just* told me that Sigourney Weaver is nominated by the Screen
Actors Guild for an Award
for her role in Snow White : A Tale of Terror. Woo-hoo! Go Weaver!
Thanks C.T.! ;)
For more information, please check out
Here.
I have a few plans for this page, to do when I have the time (Ack! School!) These are;
*--Add More links! (They are in my bookmarks, I just gotta add them)
*--Add More Alien 4 Reviews (I just gotta post 'em)
*--Add ALIENS sounds, or links to sites with sounds
*--Add a few more ALIEN related pictures
*--Finish an *extensive* 'Cut Scenes' / Directors Cut / Special Edition
Section.
I really, really want to do the 'Cut Scenes' Section... to have a definitive review of changes,
revisions, and opinions of the edited scenes. If any of you have stuff to contribute,
please Mail Me with the info, and I'll give you full
credit for sending it me. (but please, no info that is copyied from other sites! Thanks.)
The one, the Only, the James Cameron is featured on the cover fo 'Wired' magazine, and has a neeto
article on his Titanic making adventures. Including a 'personal' journal entires by James. Very
cool, I suggest you check it out. It also has a great shot of him in one of the SUBS, but the
camera is on the outside...anyway, take a look, it is cool.
A very solid item mailed its way to me today; and that is that there will be *another* release of
the ALIEN trilogy,
WITH Alien Resurrection, in a box set before Christmas 1998. (Damn Fox! Damn them! :) ) I hope
it is the same 'print' that was just released.....
Alien : Resurrection will likely be availible for 'sale'
in late may, or early June. Just so y'all know. :) (Thanks sel!)
As posted on the Alt.movies.sig-weaver newsgroup;
Sigourney Weaver will receive the Hasty Pudding Award at Harvard next month, with 'the Ice Storm'
co-star Kevin Kline. Way to Go Weaver!
(I wonder how she will dress up? *wink*)
The February Issue of Starlog magazine has an interview with Sigourney Weaver!
Alien Resurrection, after 61 days of North American Release,
has had total box-office receipts of $47,263,778 Million dollars. It came
in 33rd place over Superbowl weekend with at take of $145,724 bucks.
"Orbita200" sent me the following information;
*--"revelation" will NOT be the title
Sel also sent me the following information on the "Big
Two".....although I have not heard much about these movies / projects for the
two actresses, It could work out!
*--Winona Ryder has expressed
interest in another sequel, but her new project, "Girl
Interrupted", is just about to go into preproduction, making a 1998-1999
release for another Alien movie just about impossible...Sigourney is
completing work on the films "Dr. Neruda's Cure For Evil" and "Dear Rosie" but
is very interested in Alien 5
Thanks Orbita200!
For more Winona Ryder info, visit Winona Ryder
Illustrated!
Big News : Alien : Resurrection
will be released to video on April 28th. This will likely be for
rentals, although I am not sure....maybe for sale as well! And this would be for
VHS video and (presumably) in Pan&Scan. (bleccch!)
'Katz' sent me some rumours about the upcoming Alien 5,
--The Title will be 'Relevation',
--Gateway station may be involved,
--and Earth is a shithole..
Now, I knew this already, and the 'Relevation' title is just a rumour, and has been posted on
numerous other sites. And, it is obvious that the use of earth will be involved, and as Johner said
in Alien 4, it sorta sucks as a place to live. What I do expect Joss Whedon to include within
his story is either Gateway Station, or some other orbiting platform / docking station.
Count on it! I do not expect the Aliens to be causing havov *on earth* throughout the
entire movie....
Alien Resurrection, after 55 days of North American Release,
has had total box-office receipts of $47,055,595 Million dollars. It came
in 29th place over the weekend with the American Holdiay weekend of $305,053 bucks.
James Cameron's Titanic however, had over 100 times better
business, now having a grand total of $242 million dollars with another $150 million
internationally!
I also updated several webpages, added some links.
Yikes folks, go and visit H.R. Giger's official site for some
more news about the Alien : Insurrection troubles
he's going through so he can get the credit he deserves!
Or, if your computer does not like frames, just go to this Direct Link to view it with no frames!
I *finally* added a few ALIENS pictures on my ALIENS Pictures page.
Just a few for now, if you have a 'special' picture you want displayed, please Mail Me and I'll stick it up ASAP.
Hey all, go to Dark Horse Comics for upcoming
news and info regarding its line of ALIENS related comics.
Upcoming releases include :
* ALIENS volume 5 : Harvest TPB Feb 4 1998
This is a collection of ALIENS : Hive # 1 - 4
* ALIENS : Survival 1 (of 3) Feb 11
1998
A new storyline, By James Vance and Guy Davis
* ALIENS : Kidnapped 1 (of 3) Deceber
1997!!
Written By Jim Woodring and Justin Green, Art by Francisco Solano Lopez, Cover art by the cool
Kilian Plunkett
Remember to check these babies out!
"Mr. Blackwell," a so called "fashion expert" (come on, some of you must of heard of this guy) had
Sigourney Weaver place 6th on his yearly 'worst dressed' fashion list.
She was behind the Spice
Girls, Ellen Degeneres, Madonna, Pamela Anderson Lee, and Jenifer Tilly. Emma Thompson, Alicia
Silverstone and a few others followed her. This guy dude is a former dress designer and is
british.... I guess he is known for these stupid lists. I dunno. He was in the local paper......
Alien : Resurrection took in, after 47 days of release, $366,255 bucks to slide into 21st place this for last weekends domestic box
office take. This brings its grand total domestic gross to $46,619,841
million bucks. It has made over $110 million combined worldwide box-office bucks. (Or something
very close to that.) It has a very slight change of making $50 million domestically.
Titanic, Director James Cameron's fantastic movie, has
made $200,000,000 million domestically, and
remains at the #1 spot for the 4rth week in a row! Cameron rocks! (Now go see the movie. :)
I am about to pass the 8000 hit mark. I am amazed; this is more than I thought
would visit in 4 months! This page started on August 1st, and reallly started to boom in
late September. I currently average 50+ visits a day, with my personal record being 255 visits in
one day. (Guess which day that was! :). Please, with your help this page will expand and
be so full of ALIEN info it'll be enough to fill the Auriga. I am in school now, so time is
limited, but feel free to Mail Me with any comments,
questions, or suggestions. Now all of you who have visited my page please pat yourself on the back!
I owe ya!
A special thanks to all the people who have sent me info on the ALIEN movies. I owe ya more!
:)
I added a bunch more links. (More to come! Mail Me
with your submissions!). I also added some Jerry Goldmsith Links in the Alien Music section. Now go ahead, Link 'yer butts off at my
Aliens LINKS page! Enjoy!
I'll be adding more links on Monday, posting another Alien 4 review,
adding a few more pictures on several sites, fixing some HTML on some
pages, *and* I'll actually do it when I say. Whew! so stay
tuned!
I added a whole bunch of Sigourney Weaver Links on my Alien Links page.
Please submit your sites or other URLs to ME and I'll
stick 'em up. Thanks Billions to Chantal for her newsgroup posting of Weaver sites. Your Tops!
I'll try before Sunday to add lots and lots more ALIEN pages links, as well as a slew of actor
related links.
Kate Winslet appears on the Rosie O'Donnell show on tuesday.
She
may speak of her "experience" of working with James Cameron on 'TITANIC." And go see Titanic, it is James Cameron at his
finest.
Chris Brown sent me these notes about the Alien : Resurrection
toy figures (He resides in Southern US):
*They look great, excluding the Aqua and Battle
Scar Aliens.
*$9.97 at Wal-Mart (Nathan's note : This is PRICEY! and this is
in $US dollars too. Yikes! I think the STARWARS figures
will still sell a *wee* bit more....
*The Newborn makes for a great action figure! Now you
know I was as disapointed by the Newborns design as anybody, but the figure eliminates the things
most annoying features, the sad puppy-dog eyes and wiggling nose! The empty
eye-sockets of the skull make it look ten times better and creepier!
*The Alien Warrior & Ripley look absolutely fantastic!
Thanks for the news Chris! Ack, more of my money towards toys.... :)
I added a section about the "Japanese Connection" in Alien 3, and some basic meaning behind the
symbols shown in that movie. This is in the ALIEN Movie FAQ page, and is quite
cool. Tahnks to Owen Stringer for the translation and contribution!
I will also add a whole bunch of Sigourney Weaver links later today I hope.
Alien Resurrection was in 21st spot this weekend
for box-office grosses; it took in $443,179 bucks for a total
domestic gross of $46,092,778 Million dollars. One good thing out of this
low take is that it only dropped off 18% in weekend gross from last week. Ahhhh, always an
optimist. It has made over $100 million in worldwide grosses.
I updated a few pages around the website.
The "clear alien and predator" picture that is on the main page was posted to the
alt.cult-movies.alien newsgroup several years ago, and I think the 'figures' originate
from Japan. So if you see them there, Pick 'em up!
Also, within a few days I will have expanded the Links section (just by
adding allot more links...duh....) and have put more pictures on the people pages (I hope.)
I finally added an Aliens "about" and "Story" section.
These are very breif, and contain a little info, but more will be added in time.
First off all, James Cameron's new movie, "Titanic" is a
must-see. Don't miss it. And, for all those who send me 'rumours' on Alien 5, please don't send
me utter crap. For instance, today I got an email from "a person that is a close friend of a person
who works for FOX" and gave me the
'inside scoop.' This included : Hicks, Vasquez, and Hudson would
be brought back by cloning, and that Jeniffer Lopez, and Julliette Lewis would be getting roles.
And that the movie would open in Christmas 1998. BALONEY! Don't believe a
word of it.
Just a note: I would suspect that Alien 5 will NOT open in 1998. The
earliest I think It'll open is in late 1999 or 2000. Just the script is being worked on now, and
that will take at least another 6 months. They still have to secure a director, for
example.
Alien Resurrection was in 18th place in box office grosses last weekend,
taking in only $543,068 dollars. This brings its total domestic
gross (North America) to $45,191,836 million bucks, after just over a
month of release. It looks like Alien Resurrection will be the worst
grossing (domestically) Alien movie of all time (Alien 3 holds that dubious record at just a $57
million dollars North American take.)! BUT it is still raking in money overseas, and
recently opened in Austrailia.
