Alien Quote: "I'd heard they wanted to make it Alien versus Predator, and I wanted to get as far away from that as I could get. I thought, 'Why are they doing this?" We did three quite amazing films, and now they're just going to put it through some grist mill to make money. That's one of the reasons I wanted to die in the third film. " Sigourney Weaver giving her thoughts on Aliens Vs. Predator (from November 1997.)" December 24, 2002 ![]() Have a merry Christmas! May Santa get you all the Alien goodies you want! :)
I've finally polished off the new Alien 3 - Characters section. Have you ever been confused from all the bald-heads in Alien 3? Ever wonder who was who? Well, wonder no more. Just follow the pictures and the writeups on every person that appeared in Alien 3 that got a screen credit. I'll add different quotes of what each person said at a later time. Alien 4 website down? It seems that the Alien Resurrection official websites (located here and here seems to have now been permantly deleted. Actually, the 'note' at the alien-reserrection.com site seems to indicate that a new website is in the works...or maybe a new re-design? There was much room for improvement in the original design...
As posted at TheDigitalBits.com, an interesting quote on the Alien dvd series was released by Peter Staddon during an online chat held Monday December 2nd. Peter works for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Please Click here to visit the Home Theatre Forum; where this chat was held. [GregW] [...] any chance of the ALIEN SE in 2003 [...] Thanks for the chat tonight. [peterstaddon] I can't really go into details yet but 2003 will be a huge year for the alien films on DVD. Can't say any more yet:) Could this mean a release of an Alien 3 Directors cut, or an Alien Resurrection Special Edition? Only time will tell! New ALIEN figures! Kudos to Alienscollection.com; The Movie Manaics 6 linup has been finalized, and it includes some excellent Alien figures. Just Click Here to see the figures for the April 2003 release, or you can just visualize the Dog Alien from Alien 3, the Warrior Alien from Alien Resurrection, or the Predator figures. And even better, teh delux boxed set will be the Alien Queen from Aliens. Too cool!
With a huge wave of gratitude to the lovely people at Planetavp.com, The ALIEN Movies Resource is back! About a month ago the website was accidently deleted from its prior home. So I had to dig up the backups and upload to this new location: http://www.planetavp.com/amr/ And to celebrate the grand re-opening, I've fixed quite a bit of the website. But more sections need to be finished, including: The People pages, Movie pictures, Equipment and Weapons, Links...just to name a few. To thank all the visitors to the site I've added quite a treat; the script treatment to Aliens! This dates from 1983, and is the earliest story development of Aliens yet found. To find (and read) it just Go to the script section. Again, thanks to all the visitors; past, present and future. Over 310,000 strong! Enjoy the site. :) P.S. And yes, I'll fix the dead links and missing files. Just give me a bit more time... ;) To email me, just click here. Yep, the AMR has turned 5 years old! Happy Birthday! Thanks for visiting. :)
Ahhh, imagine having so much Alien stuff you can make a webpage out of it! for example, take a look at this Collection website, which is the work of Conrad Close. Great collection. Discovery Channel; Weyland-Yutani sponser? It seems that the Discovery Channel has an inside mole from Weyland-Yutani working for them...or else they paid a good amount for some corporate sponsorship. During a recently broadcast program about the possible construction of an enormous bridge across the Straits of Gibraltar, the company name showed up. The episode was called "Engineering the Impossible" and made extensive use of computer animation. One animation shows how the bridge would be designed to withstand a collision with a super-tanker. The tanker bore the name "Weyland Yutani". The name is partially visible in the animation available by clicking here, but to really see it you need to see the broadcast version. The ship itself had coloring that would have fit well in any of the "Alien" series sets. [A very large thanks to Mike S. for passing along that cool bit of news.] Alien Fanfiction Addition! ALIENS: CHRYSALIS is the new creative work by AlienQueen, and is the largest submission of fanfiction to date. Excellent work. To read this book and more fan fiction stories, just click on over to the Fan Fiction area... it will take ages to read all the stuff in there! :) Thanks again to Alien Queen. Alien LEGACY DVDs Out Of Print! Special thanks to Robert S; Within the September 10th edition of DVDJournal had the following: "Finally, if you don't own any of Fox's Alien DVDs in the Alien Legacy collection, you may want to add a line to your budget - Fox has informed retailers that all four titles will be discontinued on Jan. 31, 2003. New DVDs may be in development, or this may simply be a moratorium event. In any case, get 'em soon or wind up on eBay later." So if you don't have the DVDs, you might want to get them. The only "large" addition they could make to the Alien series of films on DVD are two special edition of ALIEN 3 and ALIEN 4...but who knows if that will ever happen! Again, thanks to Robert. Good Repro of MARINE armour... Unfortuneatly, I was late posting this auction up for everyone...but the pictures are worth taking a look at. Kevin was selling a full reproduction of Alien armour, gun, and gear on ebay; take a look at the great pictures by clicking here. Thanks to Kevin...and I'm sorry for posting this so late! That is all the updates for now...more will come later... :) Thanks for visiting! P.S. You all must check out Alienscollection.com, they have some great links to some...well, great alien merchandise. I gotta get one of these alien-fossil mouse things. Too cool. :) August 27, 2002 (the "Finally, an update!" edition)

Well, of course we are. And you would be too, to pass up on this bleeding- edge high-tech beauty. Electromagnetically accelerates steel slugs to 12% of the speed of light. Burke, ex. 180286. Piracy is wrong... Yeah, piracy is wrong. Since I already own every Alien-ish soundtrack to be released, I don't mind getting MP3 copies of the Alien, Aliens, and Alien 4 soundtracks that have recently been posted on the alt.binaries.mp3.soundtracks newsgroups. Yep, all complete too. ALIENS - LEGO! ![]() More additions to the soon-to-be-off-broadway hit, "ALIENS: The Musical!" You just have to surf to the Audio/Video area and scroll down to see them all. More are going to be added soon! I've also corrected 90% of the 'Aliens' sounds, and soon I'll finish up the Alien 3 and Alien 4 sounds sections. I have much more to add, but it'll have to wait for another day. I hope you enjoyed the update and thanks for visiting the website!

ALIENS: The Musical!
Take a surf to the newly polished Aliens Vs. Predator film info section...I've put in more info into the 'Facts and Quotes' section. I've also added a link to the section from the Main page. Finally, some movement on the Alien series! ALIEN Chat now online Excellent Auction ![]() July 15, 2002 BIG NEWS!!!!
As many news sites have reported, Aliens vs. Predator has been confirmed to be written and directed by Paul Anderson. Paul Anderson previously directed Resident Evil, Event Horizon, Soldier, and others. (I personally enjoyed Resident Evil quite a bit.) Producers on the project include John Davis, David Giler, Lawrence Gordon, Walter Hill, and Joel Silver. It seems that Dark Horse Comics will not be involved (It even states as much on its FAQ. According to Variety the storyline will center on a human scientist on a distant planet who produces and alien in hopes of luring the PREDATOR hunters to the planet.. It had been previously stated by Anderson that he had started to write the film. This was during a question and answer session in London after a Resident Evil screening. Winston Comments on Alien 5 Stan Winston commented on the probability on an Aliens Vs Predator and Alien 5 during an apperance at Wizard World Chicago. He commented that AvsP is very unlikely and that Alien 5 is more likely but still a very very long way off. (This info came several days before the previous news bit. :) And with all this Aliens Vs Predator news I've finally created the Facts and Quotes section for the upcoming film. It is still in its infancy but it'll grow. New Alien References Go to the References section to read a new Alien-esque happening; this time from William Shatner himself, from his book "Star Trek: Movie Memories." The next one is a beauty from the old cartoon series "The Real Ghostbusters". Just click on this link to read the references. Great thanks to An Alien Fan. A new reference thanks to Pvt. Hudson was submitted; just look at the movie listing for Zoolander to read it. Alien Auction Items Cooper Owen Auction house has an entertainment themed auction currently underway. I'm trying to standardize all the html style coding in the website (i.e. font size, color, etc.) It seems that different browsers read the same html very differently! :-) Personally I use Opera quite a bit, and it viewed the website as I liked it (as did Netscape Navigator). However, Internet Explorer was messing up just about everything, but what else is new? So anyway, I'm going to go through the different pages and try to make everything look groovy with all browsers. Fun, eh? So be prepared to see some funky html until I fix it all.
Within the Alien Resurrection DVD, there are several errors in the mini-booklet included inside. Another one that I just noticed is that the information for Jean-Pierre Jeunet is correct, but the picture credited as him is actually that of cinematographer Darius Khondji. It might be JP Jeunet in the background. A very silly mistake. For all the errors (and more!) head on over to the DVDs area. DVD Set discontinued? RS sent along some info on the DVD set and its' lifespan(?!): Reportedly, all of the films will be temporarily out of print. I am sure this is so they can add the inevitable commentaries. With the success of the David Fincher films on DVD (fight club, seven), I wouldnt be surprised if something is planned for A3 (this is speculation, though). The Alien Five Star was announced at the Consumer Electronic Show late last year. The theory was that the British and AMC documentaries would be added. (Although, the AMC one has yet to air). We'll have to be patient, I guess. [Thanks RS!] Full Alien Soundtrack is public (and free!) If you can download Binary newsgroups, then take a look at the <alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.soundtracks> group; A kind person has posted 'extended' and 'rejected' ALIEN soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith. These tracks were on an isolated Audio track on the DVD for the film. It totals 30 tracks, 17 for the extended and 13 rejected. I'll try to post more info in the Music section later. The total download is 102 megs, so start your modems! James Cameron's Next... Although he is working on another ocean based film (on the Bismarck, I think it is This Film), a few news sources have pointed out that Cameron will be working on a WW2 epic styled film for FOX. I find this unlikely, given the proliferation of war films lately. He is also set to direct True Lies 2 in a year or so. Weaver Comments on Alien 5 Dark Horizons posted an interview that a correspondent had with Sigourney Weaver. Below are the tidbits regarding a fifth Alien film (and Ridley Scott's involvement!):
Answer: I have people coming up to me on the street talking to me about when is the next one, I’ve actually spoken to Ridley Scott a number of times. He would like to do five and I have to say that because it six months away from home, I have very mixed feelings about it. I don’t know. Maybe that will change. Question: So you’re not ruling it out? Answer: You know if I can physically perform her task, or have a very good stuntwoman, I love what happened to Ripley. I love playing an alien. Question: What do you think about, sort of the last couple of years the most interesting development has been the rise of the female as the action hero. There are just tons of movies more and more now, Wonder Woman and all these things. Do you sort of take any pride in being a sort of a trailblazer in a scene that allows young females to kick butt? Answer: I am all for it, especially for my daughter’s generation. I have to say I have been a little disappointed because I don’t think they give them a lot to work with and I feel very luck in Alien that I had, I feel like I had a lot to work with, with the character and I feel Laura Croft and stuff. I feel she’s terrific, but it’s not about anything. And I was very disappointed for her. You get a great actress like that, give her something to play, just never get hurt. So I was a little frustrated. You’ve got to dig in and you’ve got to be about something more than good versus evil. Also in the interview Weaver mentions that her daughter has not seen any of the Alien films (to scary for her). For more info on the facts & quotes of Alien 5, just surf to the Alien 5 film area. New Alien Website Surf on over to the newly opened Planet Alien. Great design and graphics. A welcome addition to the Alien Internet Family! :-) New Alien Reference A New Alien reference from the show 'Invader Zim' has been submitted, with thanks to Robert P. A very Alienesque scene and a Ripley Quote appear. For more check out the References area. Alienish Music review! Thanks to skylift for passing along this funny reference: This is a review of a song called Ich Will from Metal Hammer Magazine (UK) - July 2002: Rammstein - Ich Will "In Krauter space nobody can hear you scream. This is a bit like Sugarbabes 'Freak Like Me' except its a lot more German and much much funnier. Have they got mullets? I bet they've got mullets. And moustaches. A really tight little leather. Ryan reports on the Annual Starcon Science Finction convention in Denver: The Annual Starcon science-fiction convention in Denver happened back on the weekend of April 20-21. It is one of the most star-studed conventions every year and includes many fun things to do. The guests this year were Toby McGuire (Spider Man), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissien from Star Wars), Dee Wallace Stone (Cujo, ET), and several others from shows like Star Trek and Andromeda. There were many amazing costumes there, but unfortunatly no Aliens ones. There were different classes you could take there on costuming, model making and how to speak Klingon. There were also special showings of different movies including Alien and Aliens. Other than that, there was hardley anything there that had to do with Aliens. Although I did run into a guy at the dealers room who had a BUNCH of the original AEF Aliens model kits, as well as some hard to find Halycon models. It was a great chance to meet people, and spend moeny and just have fun. Thanks for the report! Any Convention with even a bit of Alien related content is worth knowing about. :)
Long time no update. My apologies, things my way have been rather time-consuming. Anyway, I've uploaded most of the 'extra' files (multimedia and other goodies) but I have lost all the sound files. I'll be recollecting the sound collection and uploading them as soon as I can. I'm also starting a movie-review website (mostly to archive my thoughts on the movies I've seen)...it is titled MovieRANT, and should be online in a few weeks. :) George Lucas is my idol! For many years the one pinnacle of idolism for myself is Sir Lucas. Eventually I'll have his control, companies, industry impact, and flannel shirt collection. I'm just damn pleased that 'Attack of the Clones' was better than 'The Phantom Menace', and I'm thinking that if the trend continues, Episode III shall be a sight to behold. So y'all go see 'Attack of the Clones', which (as a huge Star Wars fan) I enjoyed. (Much much much better than Spiderman, IMHO). Episode II also got some comparisons to James Cameron's style...by none other than Steven Spielberg. "I saw CLONES two weeks ago up at George's. For the record, of all the STAR WARS they've made, this is my second favorite just behind EMPIRE,” Spielberg told us. “It was great. The action scenes looked like George had been inspired by James Cameron because they were as good as any of the action scenes in T2, and I think George did his best directing with this one too." This originally appeared within Cinescape. And to make Star Wars even more Alien related...see the next news bit... 2 Degrees of Alienism! Here is a nice trivia bit if someone asks you how to relate Star Wars to the Alien films. The late Paul Maxwell played Weyland Yutani company representative 'Van Leuwen' in ALIENS. He also played 'Panama Hat' in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, which was co-written by George Lucas. David Fincher tidbit Originally on Dark Horizons; Fight Club author Chuck Palanhiuk's "gave a talk last night and 'Mike' was there to take notes: "...[...]... Palahniuk said that he has backed out of a project he was planning with HBO because David Fincher asked him to write a movie for him. He described the movie a "dark film with Kevin Spacey". He said that he couldn't pass up the chance to work with Fincher and Spacey so he put his project with HBO on an indefinite hold. He said that he and Fincher would begin work on the screenplay in late summer, after Fincher had wrapped up all of the global press for "Panic Room". And I thought Panic Room was very well executed. Fincher can do no wrong! Disgruntled Alien Producers? Take a quick surf over to Alien Domain and read the news. There is an interesting (but unsubstantiated) posting regarding the Alien producers and some rumoured battling. Who knows for sure?
James Cameron directed the season finale (and possible series finale) of Dark Angel, which will air TONIGHT. Time to watch Cameron do what he does best, with a TV show that contains sci-fi and a strong female lead. ![]() A nice ALIENS Prop skull and hands has been added to the Auction Update. The picture to the right is a small sample of what can be found. :) I've found a complete backup of the site (with pictures and multimedia) and I hope to have all that uploaded within 2 days. REGULAR updates will start up again now as well. As long as there is Alien info, this site will cover it! :)
Weaver's Salary
Well, as the message on the Main Page reports, this website was deleted for a few days. It has taken me a bit of time, but I've uploaded the backup of the website, except for the Pictures area, Videos, MP3s, and a few misc. files. I can't seem to find my backup of the areas listed above... while I have the html files, I can't find the actual content. I have few more discs to check, and computer hard drives to examine, so my fingers are crossed that I can find the content (the pictures especially)...some of those I can't recover again! Also, consider this the websites 2nd incarnation...I know have a decent computer and great internet connection to support it now. Now I'm off to find my full backup copy of the website... Regular updates on the site will commence shortly. :)
I hope it came as no surprise that the last bit of news for the April 1st update was all made up. Let me explain...no, that would take to long. Let me sum up: Weaver has not written Alien 5, and there will be no Ripley finding love in space. :) Have a good April! Thanks for visiting!
Ridley Scott was part of the TLC (The Learning Channel) special series 'Hollywood Inc.' on Sunday. The show went through the various processes of the world of movie making (script, marketing, shooting, etc;) and a segment on choosing the poster for the film had Ridley giving his comments on the proposed 'Hannibal' movie poster (before it was released, of course). He is one director with full control on the aspects of his films.

Weaver has penned an Alien 5 script? During an Academy award afterparty, Sigourney Weaver commented to a reporter that she has in fact penned a script to Alien 5 and is still interested in taking on the role of Ripley. "It is something I want to get done [...] and who knows how to develop the character of Ripley than me! I want her to find some love in space..." She gave no other indication of potential plot or storyline for the future Alien film.

Thanks to Ivan and Dark Horizons for posting this. Ridley Scott dropped the following quote at a press conference in Sydney this morning - "You know i thought it'd be nice. I'd do it. It really is entirely dependent on the take on the material. It's all about material. I been asked about Alien 5 and I said of course. We've started a script meeting. I mean, i've started it off so i may as well close the door - if in fact this is meant to be the last one". Check out the Quotes and Facts Timeline.

I have not updated this site in a looong time. The reason was that I've actually moved. Yep, all my posessions had to be packed up and transplanted into a brand new house. And between that and looking for a job, I've been a busy person. But I've added some older interviews for you all to read as compensation. I hope you like them :) RIDLEY SCOTT to do ALIEN 5? This is from ign.com, at This URL. For science-fiction thriller buffs, Alien and Predator remain two films that stand out as modern day classics. Predator spawned one sequel, while three Alien follow-ups romped through theaters during the eighties and nineties. While the recent lull in high-quality sci-fi adrenaline films has been partially compensated for by the Alien vs. Predator video games, the recent success of Pitch Black showed that North American audiences are just as hungry as ever for this kind of fare. In a year when sequels seem to form a higher percentage than ever of movie releases, rumors are circulating that more Alien and Predator manhunting monster mayhem may be on the way. [Director] Ridley Scott, fresh off successes like Gladiator and Black Hawk Down, is talking about revisiting his Alien creation. In an interview with The Chicago Sun Times, he shared some of his ideas for an Alien 5 picture. "'I'm seriously mulling it over. I think it would be a lot of fun, but the most important thing is to get the story right.' "Would Sigourney Weaver and her aliens infest Earth this time? 'Earth would be interesting, and there is talk about it,' said Scott, who sounds bored with that premise. 'I say we should go back to where the alien creatures were first found and explain how they were created. No one has ever explained why. I always figured that a battleship carrying bio-mechanical organisms that could be weapons was sent into space with some space jockey who didn't last long.'" It's hard to argue with Mr. Scott's ideas, since Alien is his baby (metaphorically speaking!), and he's been very successful with the franchise. However, part of the films' mystique, for me, has always been the fact that our galaxy could hold countless unknown dangers, more ancient mankind and silently waiting in dark places for us to come along and be their next victims. To then go and make the Aliens a mere product of human engineering destroys that mystique. Scott's idea would also likely result in another "escape from the ship before the Alien eats everyone" scenario, and I'm sure he can invent something more creative than that the fifth time around!
