ALIEN 3 - Complete Music Listing
I finally finished something I've wanted to do for a while; create a complete list of music used in
Alien 3, and to figure out how much music was not included in the soundtrack. Could you believe
that over 32 minutes was not on the official soundtrack? My play & pause buttons
on my VCR and CD player may be a little more worn out, as I've made a fairly complete list of the
music in ALIEN 3. Just surf on over to the Music
area and hit the Alien 3 section. I need your help for corrections! Just email me with any help or comments!
Update: Ooops, I just noticed that I misslabeled a few 'Wreckage
and Rape' tracks...one of them should be 'Death Dance.' I'll fix that
tomorrow. G'night! :)
Old News moved...
I've moved all of January - July 2000 news to the News Archives. The rest of 2000 will
be moved to the archives a few months into 2001. :-)

Movie Babble on ALIENS
Moviebabble.com has
picked ALIENS to showcase to the world...as one of their top movie
picks. They have a quick review and why they think it is so great.
But hey...see that picture? Of the Mad magazine from 1987? Well,
they took it from my
picture page. Silly folks. :) Anyway, visit the site. :) (I'd also recommmend their movie
review of 'A Christmas Story')
More ALIEN Resurrection trivia...
/Mick passed this funny bit of Trivia about Alien Resurrection.
When Sigourney Weaver actually did sink that basketball throw,
Johner almost broke character by jumping, yelling and cheering.
Fortunately, the cameras had stopped rolling at that point. (Taken
from the Alien Resurrection book).
[I woulda cheered too!] :) Thanks Mick!

Alien Alumni casting updates
Ron Perlman, who to Alien junkies is Johner from Alien Resurrection, has landed a spot on the
upcoming Blade 2 movie, which is currently in production. Sigourney Weaver is filming
"Heatbreakers" with Jennifer Love Hewitt (I can't stand Hewitt, Sigourney will carry that film :),
and for a picture of her in it, just Click
Here. Elliot Goldenthal (Alien 3 composer) has been signed to write the music for the Final
Fantasy movie. Elliot and Sci-fi are back! :)
I got a bad memory...
Well, on November 27th I forgot to annouce a happy 3rd anniversary to the release of Alien
Resurrection. It came to the big screen in 1997. Lets hope another alien sequel is on the way...
;)

Alien 3 arcade game in a movie!
As Josh reports; In the arcade scene in "Dude, Where's My Car?" (Opened on Friday, check the Official Site) you can see in the background

Golic has a new role
Although a bunch of his scenes were Cut from the film,
Paul McGann played
Golic in Alien 3. He has now signed on to play David Talmot, the leader of the Talamasca,
which is a secret society who studies and documents the paranormal, in the film "Queen of
the Damned." I beleive this film is the sequel to 'Interview with the Vampire' so that should give
him some good exposure! He also was recently in 'Catherine the Great', which was aired a whole
whack of times on local TV channels recently.
New Aliens website...
DJ Nock over at Heart
of the Alien Saga recently gave this page the 'Heart of the Alien Saga' award. Thanks!
Remember to take a look at his page. :)
Ripleys Jacket...sold?
Has Ripley's Jacket
from ALIENS sold? Well, the bidding went up to $5,100 bucks but the reserve wasn't met. So for
those of you with deep pockets...
Updates....and BILL!
Last day of my final exams. I'll respond to email / have updates / relax after today! Thanks for
visiting! :-) Oh, and Bill Paxton (Hudson) is in the movie 'Vertial Limit' which is in theatres
now, I've heard it is a good film....if not, just watch it for Bill! Speaking of Bill, he is
appearing on Wednesday, December 20th on The Tonight Show
with Jay Leno, and on Thursday, December 21st on The Late Late show with Craig Kilborn.
Watch them! (Does anyone else find Craig Kilborn extremeley non-funny?)

butt off for exams. But I'll post something tomorrow....I have a
few small tidbits in my inbox.

in the Alien world. High profile Ebay auctions, upcoming books, sci-fi

there...should help people from scrolling in the news section to see what
they missed. It is in its infancy right now, but it should grow. :)

Spanish ALIEN bootleg...all the info!
Maurice P. has brought this mystery CD to light. As reported by
Marcos a few days ago, a new Spanish CD of the Alien soundtrack
(bootleg of course) is available...and it seems to be the
most comprehensive ALIEN soundtrack to date. 2 cds, and 46
tracks!
So, for more information (including the track listing) of
"ALIEN - Banda Sonora Original del Film y Temas
Rechazados" ("ALIEN - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack &
Rejected Themes") just go over to the
Music
area, and look at the ALIEN section. [Huge thanks to Maurice and
Marco!]
'Nice' Script Site
Lots of script sites bandwidth steal...when they link to
something on someone elses server without asking. However,
the folks at Movie-Page's
script section were nice enough to give the ALIEN Movies Resource
some credit! :-) (I'm currently reading the Original Batman

The website "Arcadiaunderground.com" has the ALIEN Movies Resource has their link to the alien series

(click under program), which declares that on December 10th, Mark Rolston (Drake) and Jenette
Goldstein (Vasquez), both stars from the film ALIENS, will appear to sign autographs and do whatever
else they do at sci-fi conventions. To see the flyer, just Click Here for page one, and Here for page two.
This convention cost just 5 bucks to get in (plus a fee for the autographs & pics), and is
happening on December 10th at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Center in Los Angeles, California.

UK delay on Alien Resurrection
As reported at AVPnews.com, Alien Resurrection (in the UK)
has been delayed yet again....'till December 1st. Full story avpnews.com.
ALIEN vs PREDATOR on top 100 games list...
Also from avpnews.com, gamespot.co.uk
managed to make a ranking of its top 100 games of all time. Just go to Avpnews.com
for the full scoop...and AVP's ranking. A quote from the Gamespot website:
"....Rebellion managed it
and in doing so created one of the best movie-based tie-ins of all time." I would also
recommend the following games:
Prince of Persia,
Lemmings,
Monkey Island,
Tie Fighter (my
all-time fav),
Warcraft,
Doom, and
one can't forget Sopwith2. Another applicable quote:
The lights go out, a hidden wall opens and all hell comes pouring out at you. Inevitable
response:
loud swearing, finger glued to fire button hosing the area randomly while backpedalling like a
lunatic." Too true.
[The last computer game I bought was the Bladerunner game...my poor computer can't handle
anything else! Eventually I'll play Aliens vs Predator! :-) ]
Aliensfanclub.co.uk site is down...& awards added
The Aliensfanclub.co.uk website is down until
January of 2001. Why? Because it is coming out with a new look and more info. I've also
added their "top site award" to my webaward page, and
the "diamond alien" award from Aliens Hive.

Yep, everyone's favorite badass takes out everyone's most hated dinosaur.
to listen to this soundfile, just go to the Audio/Video

Narcissus name origin...
Ever wonder where the name "Narcissus" came from? Yes, it had its origin before
the film Alien, as the title for the lifeboat. Joseph Conrad entitled the book (picture
at right - click for larger) with the name, as well as naming the Sulaco and the Nostromo in other
works. [Note: Don't spaz at me since the book contains the naughty 'n' word. It is just in the
title.]

In the magazine Flicks, October Issue, there is a nice
mention of the Alien series. [Note: This magazine is now defunct, after only 1(?) issue]. On page
70, Sigourney Weaver as Ripley is rated the "Hardest" woman in movies. They give some nice praise
to the Alien movies as well. Sigourney also has the prime spot on the cover of the magazine in her
old Alien 3 - cover shot pose. On page 76 there is also a contest for the ALIEN series DVDs. Of
course...don't enter it, as the magazine is dead.

It seems that the pesky formating of the 'text' version of Eric Red's unused Alien 3 script is a
little wonky...some of the indents don't keep. I'll fix that soon.
I'll post another update tomorrow which will contain more info on required reading. ;)

Eric Red's UNUSED ALIEN 3 script!
An ALIEN Movies Resource Page
exclusive!
Eric Red was commissioned to write
Alien 3 as Renny Harlin (the director attached
to the project at that time - mid 1989 or so) suggested he could do it. His script not only was
rejected,
but assisted in Renny Harlin asking to be removed from the directorial duties. And, until
today, this script was unavailable on the Internet. But many hours of
typing can make a difference! :)
Just browse at the script
area and look under Alien 3, which now holds *6* scripts, 5 of which
were rejected. (P.S. - I'd suggest getting the .rft format.)

ALIEN Props up for auction...
A few interesting items are up for auction at Ebay. The first is
from a prop proudction company 'Offworld Effects.' these guys were commissioned by 20th Century Fox
to produce a number of Alien statues and replica props and costumes to stand in the foyers of the
premier cinemas. Their guns were cast from the originals (used in the movie.)
see the ALIEN RESURRECTION prop gun.
Another nifty item are some original floor panels, made in 1978 and used as floor panelling
throughout the cockpit of the Nostromo and on other sets for the 20th Century Fox film ALIEN.
After use they were returned to the hire company. Later the same hire company was used to
supply set pieces for ALIENS. Again the floor panels were hired and used, mostly in the
Sulaco’s hanger where the APC was loaded into the drop ship. To see pictures of the prop
(during the film too), just
Click here. [There must be a zillion of these somewhere.] Thanks to Andrea for the notice.

James Cameron news bit
Aliens director James Cameron is working on his 'Mars' project, which may turn
into a book instead. (More at Cinescape.
Also, Cameron is going to be a Dad (again). He has a kid on the way with Suzy Amis,
wife #5 and with whom he met on the set of his film Titanic. He also dumped Linda
Hamilton (wife #4)...which he worked with on Terminator 2, when he was married
(I think married at this point) to wife #3, Gale Ann Hurd, who also produced ALIENS.
He was also married to Kathryn Bigelow (the movie director) at one point. And there
is another wife in there too somewhere. This is his 2nd child, he shares a daughter
with Hamilton.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Steven Spielberg is No. 1 on the list in
The Hollywood Reporter's Director Power(R) 2000 survey, scoring a perfect 100

which resulted in James Cameron (99.06), George Lucas (98.13), Ron Howard

a perfect 100 overall global score up from 99.38 in 1998. The top three finishers this

The Series on TV
A Local channel aired 'Alien Resurrection' last week, and the Spokane
area FOX affiliate is airing Alien 3
this week (Saturday, I think.) Check your local listings...the local TV premiere of Alien Resurrection just might be coming to your house!
VASQUEZ watched by 30+ million people!
Jenette Goldstien (who played Vasquez in Aliens) portrayed a helicopter medic in ER, the top-rated TV show on NBC on Tuesday night (11/08/2000). She spoke several lines for her
role. It was nice to see her on TV! She was also in episode #5.9 "Good Luck, Ruth Johnson
(12/10/1998).
More Goldstien info (more at IMDB):
"She was going up for tiny part of a marine who got killed early on, but since that role was tiny
and hadn't many lines, she was given the second lead to read for producer Gale Ann Hurd and
director James Cameron. "He was crawling around on the office floor
with a little hand-held camera while I was running around". Goldstein filled the vacancy,
became Vasquez and broke new grounds for screen images of strong women."
"The makeup took an hour. The makeup woman said I had the most ornery freckles
she had ever seen." Pumped-up tough gal Vasquez won Goldstein not only Saturn Award as the
best supporting actress but also love and recognition of sci-fi fans all over the world."
The picture of Vasquez shown is actually from a computer/video game...it is listed in the References area but I had never posted the picture before. :)

Dark Angel - Same Writer
Posted at 10:13am.
James Cameron co-wrote 'Dark Angel', the new TV show for FOX. The 'bad guy' is named
Lydecker....which Cameron used as a character on ALIENS. Lydecker was one of the Colony-lackies
seen on LV-426 in the Special Edition. I guess he liked the name.

Ryder comments on ALIEN
Posted near midnight.
Over at Cinescape, Ryder
comments on what she liked about ALIEN...
"I always find it more terrifying when you don't
see the gore or you don't even see the bad guy... our
imaginations can be very sick, can't they! The first
Alien movie is a great example. Tom Skerritt is in
this vent, and the alien is in there, but you never see
it. They never cut away to the alien. Movies [like that]
are a lot scarier."
She is doing publicity for her new (and oft-delayed) movie, 'Lost Souls.'

Parker from Alien interviewed...

Yaphett Kotto (Parker in ALIEN) was interviewed on the TV show 'Bynon' yesterday. This is Canadian
entertainment show. He recently won a life-time acheivement award. Did he mention anything Alien?
Well, after I watch the tape of it I'll tell you. :) Canadians, check for repeats.

Fox Interactive site as well.
You can read the press release (which gives a nice summary of all the games' goodies) by going to

More news later. I've been busy looking for a job so hence the lack of updates. Say...maybe Fox
needs someone to work on their ALIEN franchise? Ahhh, I'll keep dreaming. Thanks for visiting!

Fincher's comments on a rejected script...
I've had this for a while...it should be posted up. Back in 1992 Premiere magazine had some
comments from David Fincher on Alien 3. One of the topics was about an earlier draft of ALIEN 3
that was rejected. I'll post these comments in a few minutes over on the Scripts area.
Fincher's next movies
Speaking of Fincher, his next movie is going to be 'The Panic Room.' This film is to star
Nicole Kidman, Jared Leto, and Dwight Yoakam. (For more info just Click Here for more at Corona.)
Following this he will work on 'Rendevous with Rama.' (Coming Attraction's for
info.) As Cinescape reported:
"The Intel Corp. has partnered up with Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary's Revelations Ent. on
bringing Arthur C. Clarke's Rendezvous With Rama to the big screen. The partnership will result in
a new subsidiary company devoted to digital filmmaking."
Cameron's TV show...
James Cameron's TV show 'Dark Angel' premiered last night on FOX tv. It was a little slow at times,
the writing was sometimes weak, but overall it was entertaining. It is an hour-long show, (the
premiere was 2 hours, but PACKED with tv adverts), and Cameron co-wrote the pilot episode. I
believe he serves as an executive producer. And don't be fooled, it wasn't really sci-fi-ish
at all. But look at the retro fitted cars...very Blade Runnerish, a 'la Ridley Scott. Not
quite as good though. :)
BJORK has seen Aliens...
Singer, songwriter and actress Bjork had a funny comment relating
to the film Aliens. From Premiere Magazine, (
Click
Here for the article):
"The second time in my life that I was ever physically violent was four
years ago, when this woman in Thailand was trying to interview my son live
on the air and she was crazily abusing it, and I just saw red and hit her.
It's a different energy there when you want to protect your children. I
remember after that, me and my son going to see Aliens, and there's that
line in there, 'Get away from her, you bitch!' And we were laughing our
heads off, because this had just happened to us!"
Bjork recently won 'best actress' award at the Cannes Film Festival for her role as Selma in the
film 'Dancer in the Dark.' The film won the Palm D'or as Best picture. [I'm a fan of Bjork...for
more info on her just Click here, Here, Here, or even

ALIEN WAR info
Scott Oliverson passed along some information on the ALIEN WAR attraction.
It has been added to the Trivia area....and here:
In this WALK-THROUGH attraction, based on the four hit films you
and other guests are invited to an OPEN HOUSE at the WAYLAND-YUTANI
CORPORATION laboratory complex on a remote planet to see some ALIENS who
have been captured by the weapons division and being held in suspended
animation or frozen sleep. UN/NATO Colonial Marines escort you through
the base while telling you about the monsters when suddenly another
marine comes running up, face white as a sheet. He explains that the
creatures have escaped their containment systems due to a breach in the
system and now are hunting their prey. So now you and the other guests
are running for your lives in terror through darkened corridors &
hallways while trying to avoid being captured or killed by the ALIENS!
Suddenly the xenomorph monsters jump out of hiding, hissing and
screeching in triumph from all directions as they attempt to kill you
but the marines retaliate by blasting the creatures with their pulse
rifles & smart guns. In the end you and the others escape to safety
back into the real world!
ALIENS: Ride at the Speed of Fright info
Scott also sent some ALIENS: Ride info.
It has been added to the Trivia area....and here too:
This turbo-ride, motion-based simulation is located at San
Francisco's Pier-39. It too allows visitors to reenact a scary scene
from one of the ALIEN movies. First you are standing in the queue
preshow room before the main ride begins. Your commanding officer of
the UN/NATO COLONIAL MARINES briefs you as cadets or recruits about a
dangerous mission you are about to undertake. He tells you about a
colonist base on the planet Archeron/LV-426, yet another homebase built
over the same spot where the previous one stood in the 2nd
film...Suddenly the transmission jams or breaks in with an S.O.S.
incoming message from a lone, frightened surviving marine. He starts
telling about his squadron being massacured by the ALIENS as they
attempted to locate human life inside the complex. Unable to find any
survivors (Just like the marines did in the 2nd film), the soldiers
decide to plant a bomb to detonate and destroy the base, killing all the
monsters in the explosion. Suddenly the ALIENS attack the soldiers,
capturing or killing them. He pleads for somebody, anybody to come
rescue him before the bomb explodes. So now your commander orders you
to accompany another squadron of marines to rescue any survivors on
Archeron before it is too late.
Now you enter the turbo-ride simulator designed to look like the
Armored Personnel Carrier or APC from the movie. The seats are
programmed to move in sync with the film on the BIG SCREEN creating an
illusion as though you are reenacting a scene from a movie! Once you
and your fellow marines disembark from the mothership orbiting the
and your fellow marines disembark from the mothership orbiting the
planet, the dropship carries you down to the surface of LV-426 and
arrives at the colony base. Then the APC rolls forward into the complex
and begins searching for the 1st Squad survivors. Some survivors are
found hiding inside the wreckage of another APC, ALIVE! Suddenly the
ALIENS attack our squad and those we've come to rescue and the wargames
commence. Next begins a series of shootouts, being chased through the
corridors & hallways of the base by the monsters, and the grand finale
is the confrontation with the QUEEN ALIEN herself! But we do escape
before the bomb detonates with the survivors and return safely to the
mothership in orbit high above.
[Nathan's Note: This ride was featured on TV a few times, some video of the
ride can be found at
Weyland Yutani: SWD ALIENS.

Website Updates: Triva & Alien 4
I've added some ALIEN Resurrection trivia that I've been meaning to
upload...they are the first batch under the Alien 4 heading. Find out what directors passed on
Alien 4, and what athelete had an audition...
I've combined the Alien 4 'story' and 'about' pages into the new 'Background' area. It is much easier to read now. I haven't updated the
Alien Resurrection pages in over 2 years...my next task is the people section. Thanks for visiting!

You know all those updates I promised a month ago? Well, I think its time I started doing them. I
hope to have some of those updates added daily for the next little while. But here are some
quickies...
ALIEN mentions...
* FOX's advertisements for the upcoming
TV series Dark Angel
proclaim: "From the director of Aliens and Titanic"
* The August issue of MAXIM Magazine mentions ALIENS:
(page 68) - Included on a 'where are they now' update on the cast of the 1982 film 'Diner.'
The listing for 1986: "Banner years for Paul, who costars in both Aliens
and Beverly Hills Cop II." Paul's end ranking is 4th (out of 6.)
On a Movie Review of 'Supernova': "What does this umpteenth Alien
spawn have in comon with a real supernova? They both blow." [James Spader,
who stars in Supernova, also stared with Paul Riser in the TV pilot episode of 'Diner',
based on the feature film (See above.) Spader played Fenwick. In the film, Fenwick was played by
Kevin Bacon...6 degrees of Bacon, anyone? See, the Alien Movies Resource provides all
sorts of trivia!]
Nostromo Files have moved!

ALIEN Resurrection Trailer MP3's...
Thanks to FoxFireJ2, everyone can listen (in MP3 format) the Alien 4 trailer music as heard on the
Immediate Music website. These folks composed the track
entitled 'Code Red' for the trailer. Also in MP3 format is the 'Code Red' music as heard in the
Alien Resurrection trailer itself, courtesy of Ken. To listen to all this, just go to the
ALIEN MUSIC page and go to the
Alien 4 area!
I've also cleaned up some bad html and made the Alien 3 section much easier to read.

August 31st
I've had a hard drive crash. :( Basically, a huge chunk of 4+ years of info I've saved relating to
the internet & school has been zapped...a few things I was going to add to this website as well.
So I don't think there will be an update for a few more days until I get this fixed! However, I was
also leaving for a mini-vacation tomorrow so I might not be able to be as quick to respond to emails
as before, but no worries, everything will be responded too when I get back to school
on the 12th.
Sorry for the delay in posting news!

Cinescape / Whedon / Alien ...
Posted at 10:18am
Sinistro79 stumbled upon an article in the new issue of
Cinescape
magazine: It publishes a reader response to the Joss Whedon
article that was in the magazine's last issue. Joss Whedon was
blaming the studio for the faults in Alien Resurrection.
The reader "trashes Joss Whedon for writing the script."
The previous article had "Joss blaming it on the pre-editing of
the script (and studio) before filming even started."
Even so, the writer of the article goes on to say that Alien 3
is a very underrated film and that Alien Resurrection gives a
bad name to the series that gave a worthy end the franchise in
Alien 3." The basic gist was the Joss is a hack writer who
doomed Alien 4 from the start. [Cinescape was also one of the
first (if not -the- first) magazine to interview Whedon about
Alien 4, way back in mid 1995. I'll type up and post that
interview eventually.] Also in that same issue is an article
(interview?) with James Cameron, primarily on his upcoming TV
series 'Dark Angel.' Aliens is listed as a previous hit, and it
includes a non-movie picture of Newt & Sigourney going to medical
when the lights go out in Aliens. One neat thing about this picture
is that it clearly shows Newt holding Casey, her doll, by the neck.
[Thanks to Sinistro79 for the alert!]
Need a DVD case for the 5th Legacy disk?
Remember the ALIEN Legacy DVD set?
Remember the elusive '5th' DVD that contained the excellent
Documentary on the ALIEN series, created by the people
at Sharpline Arts?
Well, that 5th mail-away disk came in a soft sleeve, and not
an actual DVD container.
Sharpline even created
(located at their site in the ALIEN section) an excellent .pdf
file of their 'real' DVD case insert. Now,
AOL can supply you with a case!
As RK reports: Over the past 2 months, AOL has mailed me their
free software in a DVD Keep Case. What a waste of money for them,
but a plus for me. They even put one in our newspaper.
So everyone in town got one. Just thought the readers would
want to know.
So try AOL for a DVD case. :-) Thanks to RK.
I'm just about finished getting caught up in emails. I have a list of
about 10 things to add/update to the site that I've kept in storage for a
while. I *hope* to get it done all today. Thanks for dropping by!

ALIEN 3 music in Titus
I've made a few small additions to the Alien 3
music section. These include a small summary of where the Alien music can
be found elsewhere...including a link to hear the remixed "Wreckage and
Rape" segment that Elliot Goldenthal used in the movie Titus. (He composed
both scores.) Thanks to FoxFireJ2!
Did you like the NIN / ALIEN series videos? Well, the creator has made another one; but this time
to scenes of Se7en, also directed by David Fincher (Alien 3). The video is based off of the Nine
Inch Nails song "closer (precursor)", which was remixed by the groupCoil. This song was played
during the title sequence. In less than one week over 8,000 NIN fans have seen it...now it is your
turn! Just Click
Here to see it. [Thanks to Kevin!]
