Chris Cunningham, the music video-director extroidinare, also worked on Alien 3. He helped sculpt the Alien for the movie, based on H.R. Giger designs. His amazing video work includes Bjork (All is Full of Love), Aphex Twin (Come to Daddy, Windowlicker), Madonna (Frozen), Portishead, Squarepusher and more. David Fincher also worked with music videos before moving to film. [Chalk this one up to useless trivia.

As I need a bit more space on my University account....and I was cleaning up some of my files for the webpage too...I moved some areas around. The Music/Soundtrack section has a new home. I haven't removed the old pages, as they are the same, but the new home uses frames so that should help in some navigation. (It can still be viewed in a text browser, honest!)
I've also cleaned up a bunch of other pages throughout the website...just little stuff mostly. I'll update the references section today or tomorrow. Have fun out there!

    ALIENS vs PREDATOR 2 Puzzle!
Want to see some of the ALIENS vs PREDATOR 2 concept pictures? All in one? In a puzzle?!? Now you can. Michael over at Weyland-Yutani has made a puzzle consisting of all the characters and a background pic. And it is all electronic. 24 pieces! To give it a look, then Click Here and get the file named AvP2puz.exe

The Sims - Alien Warrior Graphic Patch
Michael from Weyland-Yutani also recently found a graphics patch for The Sims that allows you to have a character that looks like an Alien Warrior. Along with a screenshot, look under 'TheSims' directory in this shared Driveway account.

Dark Horizons, one of the premier movie-news sites on the internet, recently reviewed the ALIENS Legacy DVD. It was given a 10+ out of 10! To read the review just Click Here. For more on the Dvd set Click here. And hey, to buy the DVD just Click Here.

    T3 director?
James Cameron, (Director of Aliens) has confirmed that he is not going to direct Terminator 3. The top-of-the-list directors to take over are supposedly David Fincher and Ridley Scott, both ALIEN series director alumni as well. Ridley is currently filming 'Hannibal', the sequel to Silence of the Lambs, and Fincher is gearing up to do Rendezvous with Rama as far as I know. I doubt either of these two will be directing T3.

    This site won an award!
I've never submitted this site into any award-category anywhere, so when I get something that is outside the Alien realm I think its sorta cool. The ALIEN Movies Resource Page was awarded the Celebsites Award of Excellence. Neat, huh? More on that later. :)

    Site troubles....
It seems that yet again, geoshitties has failed me and the scripts / faq page is down AGAIN. However, I have a somewhat recent backup of everything there so I'll upload this shortly...it might take a bit of time though. What really sucks is that I had just reorganized that whole geocities website. Damn.

There are several pages (such as the Alien 4 areas) that I haven't updated in well over a year. I'll make it my mission, before the end of the summer, to update all these sections and add more pictures & info. I added a little bit of info on Ron Perlman in the very outdated Alien 4 People area.

Okay! I'm back from a really nice trip here in Canada. :) I'll update a little later today. :) Thanks for visiting.

    NIN & the ALIEN Series!
Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm proud to present 3 exclusive fan-edits, combining the music of Nine Inch Nails and films from the Alien series. As brought to you by the Alien Movies Resource Page, these Kevin Clouser creations are sure to stand the test of alien-time.
To see them, just go to the Audio/Video section!

I will most likely be unable to update this website until Monday, July the 10th. I'm off on a mini-vacation. I do have updates and emails to be answered, but please be patient...If I had a bit more time these websites updates would be my top priority. Please stay tuned!

Yep, there's been a delay in updating...I'll post whatever news I can find in the afternoon. Thanks for visiting! :)

    Posted at 11:28pm
Hello! As some of you may have noticed...there is no update. Why? Because it seems that an account that I've been using has somehow been deleted...which means that the Audio/Video section (for now) is gonzo. I'm working on fixing it. I have a backup of everything...and I'm just making backups currently of my entire website. It's taking more time than I thought. If the webspace that housed all the audio/video is gonzo...then I'll upload the backup on the weekend. Sorry for the delay...it is causing me a bit of stress! :)

ALIEN 3 : The GUN sighting!
At a cason on the California /Nevada border, is the rare 'Alien 3: The Gun' game. As MP points out, It is in the Casino that houses the Desperado roller coaster. (Buffalo Bills?)

Of course, pictures of the 'first' sighted Alien 3: The Gun game can be found Weyland Yutani. This is in the 'Circus Circus' casino in Las Vegas.

More Casino news (thanks to : Weyland Yutani; At the Orleans casino in Vegas, I was stopped by the arcade and saw a game similar to the one in Toy Story - Whack a Alien (see the References). This one was named Smack N Alien and was made by Innovative Creations in Entertainment...that is, if I remember correctly. [Thanks Michael!]

    Alienscollection.com back up and running...
After a short vacation, alienscollection.com has a few sections reopened. These include the news page, ("Peace Through Superior Firepower" t-shirts!), prop information...ahh, just go to the site, its one of the best on the internet. :) Good job Willie!

I added information about the ALIENS bootleg cd to the Aliens: Music area. I had thought this was posted ages ago! My bad.

    David Fincher Updates...
It looks like David Fincher (ALIEN 3, Fight Club, Seven, The Game) has his next movie lined up. As reported by Revelations Entertainment, "Rendezvous With Rama", a book based on Arthur C. Clarke's novel, will be helmed by Fincher and starrign Morgan Freeman (who also stared in Fincher's 'Seven'. A quick summary:

At first, only a few things are known about the celestial artifact that astronomers dub 'Rama.' It is huge. It weighs more than ten trillion tons. And it is hurtling through the solar system at an inconceivable speed. Then a space probe confirms the unthinkable: Rama is no natural object. It is, incredibly, an interstellar spacecraft.
So it looks like Fincher may venture back into Sci-Fi. :) [Thanks to G.N. Unger for passing along this news.]

    New Fan Fiction
2 new Fan Fiction stories are available. The first is 'Childhood Bodygaurd' by Lisa Van Sleeuwen. The second is 'Plastic' by KC. Both are short stories, and great to read. :)

Eric Red .... Real Horror Story
James passed this along with his comments: from Variety. Eric Red wrote a draft of Alien 3 (one which kills Ripley, Newt, and Hicks before the opening credits and takes place on a space station designed to look like a 20th century midwestern town). The article updates Red's life, and it turns out recent events have definately been more horrifying and original that anything he's ever put to the page...
Two dead in helmer's crash : Filmmaker critical after crash kills 2
Two men have died a day after filmmaker Eric Red plowed his sport utility vehicle into a crowded pool hall near the UCLA campus Wednesday. Red remained in critical condition after trying to cut his throat after the crash, police said.

    No "Complete Aliens" book?!
rs reports: "I dont know if you ever reported on the status of Paul Sammon's Complete Aliens Companion. I wrote to Harper Prism (which seems to be defunct) regarding the release. Their response was short and sweet. "The book has been taken off schedule indefinitely. There is no foreseeable release."
Now, this really sucks, as I was greatly looking forward to this book! The Author, Paul Sammon, wrote the 'bible' on the film Blade Runner. To see what Amazon.com had on the book, just Click Here.. Thanks to rs. (If you are a Blade Runner fan, pick up 'Future Noir : The Making of Blade Runner!)

If you are a serious fan of ALIENS (and the equipment / weapons / ships...) you must take a look at the ALIENS : Colonial Marines Technical Manual, which is an amazing resource for ALIENS related info.

ALIENS vs PREDATOR 2 (the game)

    Alien 5 rumour...casting?
I snagged this from darkhorizons, thanks to James C. as well, (and other spots on the web).
sources on the Net are claiming the dead embers of the "Alien" franchise seem to be glowing again with talk that the 'Movie Network' in Canada recently mentioned that several of the cast members of 1997's "Alien Resurrection" have been asked back for another feature in the series.
This is just a rumour....but sorta cool. :) Although, I live in Canada and haven't heard of the 'Movie Network.'

NO Alien 3 directors cut...for a long, long time.
The digital bits managed to get an interview with David Fincher, director of Alien 3 (as well as Seven, The Game, and Fight club.) While the interview was mostly about Fight Club (DVD release June 4) he also touched on Alien 3. Fincher was asked if an Alien 3 Director's Cut would ever be released. This is what he had to say:

David Fincher : I have no plans to revisit Alien 3. There was a kind of famous encounter about that, when footage was cut and I remember saying, "Can we possibly save this stuff for the laserdisc?" And I was told by someone with great relish, "There are no plans ever to do that." You know... it was flawed from its inception and it was certainly flawed - actually pretty fucked up - well before we started shooting.

An outline of the Audio / Video section is up. I've started to upload a few sound and movie files...many more to come!

    Upcoming Site Additions
I've started to work on several new sections. These will be the audio / video area and the 'extra' section, which will have stuff that I didn't know where to put anywhere else. An example would be a flash-file that is alien related, a large windows bmp background, or maybe a sound file of an interview. I have a few things that I've stashed for a while! Those areas should be up in a few weeks (I hope!)

H.R. Giger Interview and Pictures On-line!
A bit of older news, but still cool. Go to Sharpline Arts, and go to the Giger special feature. It has some behind-the-scenes photos of H.R. Giger designing the ALIEN in his studio. Interestingly, a few of his most-famous Alien pictures that he drew are in the background in several of these pictures. [Sharpline Arts did the LEGACY making-of extra 5th DVD / Video...you can also download the cover for that disc there too!]
Even cooler is an H.R. Giger interview in streaming quicktime. Give it a look! :)

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire Reference!
Last week, there was a very Alien-esque "Who wants to be a Millionaire" question. It was for $4000. The question was like:
What Sci-fi movie introduced the phrase: "In space, no one can hear you scream?"
    a) Forbidden Planet -- b) Alien -- c) 2001: A Space Oddessy -- d) can't remember.
It took her a while, but the contestant guessed it correctly. :)

    Gladiator-Alien comparison
From the MrShowbiz review of Gladiator; Scott has always demonstrated a penchant for indelible images, and on a purely viusal level his work here ranks with the splendor of Alien and Blade Runner.
[I recently saw Gladiator, and it is great! A good solid film. Good work Ridley!]

Okay, one news bit. Go to AvsP.net to read about the ALIEN Resurrection game. That's right, the extremely delayed (up to about 2.5 years now) game. It will be playstation only. Go to Avsp.net for the full story! You can see pictures of the game by clicking here. Good work avsp.net!

Posted at 4:22am. *yawn*, I'm pooped! I put up the FAQs, Scripts, old news sections, nitpics, .....and a few other files. Those areas should be working quite nicely now! And since I need sleep, I'll finally do that news update later today. :)

Posted at 2:44am Well, it is 2:44 in the morning...and as some of you may have noticed the Index page has change slightly...it is easier to navigate around the website, and I think it has more of a sleeker feel. I couldn't actually put up what I wanted; for those of you who checked out this site at about 1:00am may have seen the 'frame' version, but it didn't look so good so I scraped it.
This site will eventually run off Style-sheets. This will save me a TONNE of html code on the index page (and elsewhere), but for now while I slowly re-do the html of the site be prepared for a few mistakes here and there.
I would like to update every section of the site. The first thing is to re-upload the scripts / FAQ areas...which I am doing right now. I don't know if it will be functional or if I'll fall asleep first! AND the news *will* be updated today!
    Thanks for visiting. :)

    May 12th
All of the ALIEN Movies Resource Page's areas that were located at Geocities are currently being moved around! I hope to have everything back in order sometime tonight. By then you'll be able to access the scripts / faq / picture pages... thanks for your patience.

News update later today too. :)

Added some music soundtrack reviews to the music sections. The new links bring reviews courtesy of Scoreland. Interesting points are made!

I've added some information on a few Cut Scenes from Alien Resurrection. One is from Joss Whedon, the other is from the FX crew....just take a look!

Added a new Alien Reference, from the show 'Good Vs Evil'. Thanks to St Just. Oh yeah, that reminds me...if any of you have comments on the references, either to refute or support, please feel free to email me. Thanks!

FOX has registered another ALIEN 5 movie site, or so it seems.

I'm back from Phoenix. :) Emails will be answered shortly...

ALIEN 5 On the way?. Well, this is pretty much an official move by FOX to either let the film world know that ALIEN 5 is on the way OR that it wants to sustain interest in the series. Last week, FOX registered the internet domain "Alien5movie.com. It redirects visitors to the Fox site. [Big Thanks to FoxFire for this update!]

The FAQ page, including the nitpic section, japanese connection, bloopers, alien faqs, and others seems to have been DELETED from the geocities account where it once resided. I do not know where the hell it went.
[UPDATE] Whew, I found a complete backup of the areas from that geocities location, that I made back in december of 1999. Wise man once say: "Always backup!"

    April 28th
Okay! Time for a few updates. I'm leaving for Phoenix tomorrow for the weekend, however I will be checking my email. I apologize for the rather massive delays on past email responses...but hey, I just finished my 5th year of university at the University of Calgary. I have less than one year to go...in obtaining a BA in Economics, and a BComm in Marketing... and maybe an equivalent in Finance. Yes, I am a professional student! ;) (It is also 1:00am and I have to wake up in 4 hours!)

    From Dark Horizons;
Alien 5: Sigourney Weaver was on the BBC TV show Film 2000 promoting the sci-fi spoof "Galaxy Quest" when she was asked about the potential of reprising Ripley. Whereas she has seemed positive and eager in the past, today it seemed she apparently replied with a quick apology saying she didn't know, and indicated to the interviewer to quickly move onto another question. [For the full scoop go to Dark Horizons!]

Steve over at MADtv Central has allotta MAD info...including a link to the "Claylien Resurrection" sketch Transcript

The David Copperfield special broadcast yesterday (April 26th] "The Great Escapes ". Essentially, the entire one-hour special on CBS used music from ALIENS, composed by James Horner. And these were uninterrupted segments of music... entire tracks! I hope they got permission....

Lots more ALIEN References. New ones from 'Roswell' thanks to Graham, [hey, over at Terraserver they have arial/satellite photographs of Area 51, in Roswell New Mexico! Cool!); David Copperfield (see above news), Starship Troopers (thanks to Chris S.), and Newsradio thanks to Nootch.

I'll actually update when I get back with soundtrack reviews, Alien 4 cut scenes tidbits, and if I get lucky another ALIENS article transcription. The updates should come more quickly and constantly, now that school is out. I'm hoping so! Thanks for visiting!

Bill Paxton (Hudson in ALIENS) was on The tonight show with Jay Leno last week. I stayed up to watch it...but fell asleep just before it started (just my luck!) This was to promote his role in the Submarine flick 'U-571.'

    April 25th
My last final exam is today. So after that I'll finally do a small update and answer emails...yes yes, sorry for the delay! Thanks for visiting. :)

    April 19th
Whew, I only have 2 more final exams to go. So forgive me if the updates are spread out. :)

FilmForce.net has a feature entitled "A Look at What Aliens Could Have Been." It breifly goes over what the 'ALIENS' comic book series (Written by Mark Verheiden). It then comments on why that would have made a better Alien 3. I think it is a little biased toward the survival of Newt and Hicks, unlike the movie. It does bring up a good point though; that not every ALIENS movie needs to be based on Ripley. But hey, I still think that ALIEN 3 is a great movie!

    April 12th
"I've brought it down from the Starship Troopers level to the Alien level."
This is the description of a script to the upcoming movie based on the 'Mutant Chronicles' book series...what do you think? Read more about it at Dark Horizons.

Posted at noon: Thanks to Richard, here is that ALIEN 5 blurb that was in Cinescape magazine. :)

PLOT: Ripley's clone travels to the home planet of her goo-dripping adversaries for a final showdown.
    PLAYERS: Sigourney Weaver (unsigned)
    DIRECTOR: TBD
INSIDE SCOOP: Despite a flurry of reports a few years back that Weaver had signed an $18 million contract for a fifth ALIEN film, the franchise appears to be dormant. While promoting GALAXY QUEST late last year, Weaver told SCI FI Wire that there has "never been a serious discussion" between herself and Fox about another sequel. But the actress did say she's not totally opposed to he idea. "I've always wanted to do one where we go back to the planet from which the alien originally came," she said. "It wouldn't surprise me if sometime in the next 20 years or so you see a white-haired Ripley hobbling around out there."
LOOK FOR IT: In 2004, just in time for the original film's 25th anniversary.

My thoughts? Well, the quote from Weaver was posted a while back...but it seems more tongue-in-cheek rather than to be taken seriously. However, the year of 2004 makes sense to me. Don't expect it for several years! :) [Thanks to Richard!]

    April 7th
Posted at midnight The latest Cinescape magazine has some "teaser" info on ALIEN 5. I'd imagine this to be rumours and nothing more...but check out the magazine if you want to know about it. Or better yet, email me and tell me what they said! [Thanks to Ianphish for that.] :)

New Alien Reference, from the movie "Clay Pigeons" starring Jeanne Garofalo and Vince Vaugn. Thanks to St Just for the scoop!

David Fincher has a devoted fan page, along with his legions of devoted fans! (me included.) Surf on over to DavidFincher.net for the scoop on this great director.

Remember to visit AliensCollection.com for a vast array of modeling and toy pictures and news updates. Lots of stuff has been added!

Posted at 10pm Not an update in a while. Why? Because there isn't a lot of news. I'll look around today to search out for some ALIEN related news tidbits. :) If it happens in the ALIEN world, it'll be reported here! :) Thanks for visiting!

    March 27th
Well, the Acadamy Awards were on last night, and the only thing remotely ALIEN related was a quick flash of Sigourney Weaver during an opening montage....so quick it might not have been her. :( And I think that Star Wars: Episode One should have won for the technical categories instead of the Matrix...but anyway..

Dark Horizons had a news tidbit of David Fincher's actual next project (as opposed to the news in march 22nd's post)...
the acclaimed director has decided to return to the field of music video. Fincher will direct the video clip 'Judith', the debut single for the band 'A Perfect Circle'. APC is a side project of TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan, and will be opening for 'Nine Inch Nails' during their upcoming 'Fragility v2.0' tour.

iFUSE (from DH has looked at the script for a future TV series "Dark Angel", created by James Cameron. The series is set in San Fransisco in the year 2020, the world has changed after a massive electro-magnetic pulse wiped out all forms of electronics.

Ahh heck, lets finish off with another ALIEN director... Ridley Scott was mentioned at the pre-acadamy awards show by Julianne Moore, who will be in the upcoming 'Hannibal'....directed by Scott. Alien Resurrection director is writing the film 'Amélie des abesses', which is currently in production.

    March 22nd
Posted at 12:11pm David Fincher (ALIEN 3) has several movies on his rumoured directorial to-do list:
(From FilmForce.net) David Fincher is in talks to direct "The Panic Room", for Columbia Pictures. The David Koepp script tells the story of a mother and daughter who try to elude a pair of intruders that have broken in to their brownstone. Fincher is also developing "Passengers" with USA Films, which tells the story of aliens that experience emotions by inhabiting the bodies of humans for wild, 3-day romps. He's also working on "Black Dahlia", an adpatation of the James Ellroy book about the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short in 1949. Fincher has also expressed interest in "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,'' a picture likely to star Mike Myers.

Posted at 1:00am Wow! A LOT of references, from Adam Britton! You can find these new ALIEN Reference entries: Music by Front 242 and Corporation; Games like ALIEN for the spectrum, ALIENS, ALIENS: USA Edition, Rebelstar Raiders, Incubation, Corporation, Turrican / Turrican 2, Doom, X-COM: UFO Defence, System Shock 2, Aliens vs Predator (of course), Half Life, Half Life: Opposing Force and more bits have been added. :)

I still have a lot of work to do on this website. I have a *stack* of papers relating to updates to the 'nitpick' section and the FAQ. The ALIEN series ain't dead on -this- webpage!

    March 21st
Not too much to report...I still have a bunch of references to add to the list. I'll make a decent attempt at finishing that up today. Until then, stay frosty, and thanks for visiting!

    March 12th
    Copyright infringement!
In the recent 'Arm and Hammer' commercial (the little boxes that you stick in the fridge), it uses the music to ALIEN 3! I've only seen this tv advertisement once, so I need some confirmation...but as a huge fan of Elliot Goldenthal and his score to ALIEN 3, I'm sure that the beginning part of the intro track "Agnus Dei" (the moment where the 'chiming' sound starts) is played twice during the advert...when the image of the Arm and Hammer box magically cleaning the fridge. I'm not joking here! :) So keep your eye out for it. :)

Hicks says: For anyone who gets the FXM network good news: Lately the've been running "Aliens: SE" in widescreen it kicks ass!

The Alien Timeline has been updated! It now includes more dates pertaining to the histories of the Nostromo crew (thanks to Darrell Curtis), plus updated technical stuff mainly about the USM Escape Pods and basic info about Fiorina 161. Also, an update on the 'definative date' for Alien Resurrection, and two star maps! So visit the Alien Timeline, it is an excellent page! [thanks Scott!]

New Alien Reference, from the Playstation game G-Police 2. (Thanks Mad Skunk Burner!)

Haven't seen some of the missing scenes from ALIEN? Want to? Then just surf over to Ryley's Alien and Predator Website and go to the xenomorph, then download section... the movie clips are there, along with some sound files! [Thanks to Marc for sending that along]

More references and stuff to be updated tomorrow. :)

    March 10th
I promise I'll update with that update that I said I'd update the site with tomorrow. :) Honest. :) I've gotten little sleep lately...it is exam/project time at school. (Yes, I'm whining!)

Sigourney Weaver recently had a nice article written on her on the front page of the 'National Post' Arts & Life section. This is one Canada's national newspapers. I'll find a copy and get all the ALIEN mentions out of it.

    March 9th
Hmmm...that update I meant to post yesterday will now be posted tomorrow. I've gotten rather busy looking for jobs. I'm really trying to get employment in Phoenix or Tempe, in Arizona? Can you give me any help? Please, email me if you can!

At Cinescape, a comparison is drawn between the upcoming Final Fantasy movie and ALIEN... Well here is the quote:
Some short clips from Final Fantasy were shown, depicting a dark, dystopian world at war--sort of a cross between Alien and Starship Troopers. .
This comment comes from a screening at Showest, were of course, in 1997 the first glimpse of ALIEN Resurrection was shown to the public. :) [Yes, I'll update tomorrow!]

    March 8th
Yes, an update will occur sometime tonight. I got a whole whack of Alien references, and a few tidbits of info to pass along. :) Until then, stay frosty...

    March 3rd
Posted at 12:30pm Has anyone seen the lastest music video for Korn's "Make Me Bad"? It involves a small organism in the chest of a band member, pushing out through the stomach (very similar to the Ripley-dream in ALIENS)...and even has an extraction like ALIEN Resurrection. Very similar stuff!

Posted at 1:00pm RICHARDgrs passes on some info on the 'Alien powerloader' comment from a week or so ago:
There's a powerloader AND a Queen Alien at Planet Hollywood in Orlando, Florida where I live. BOTH are full size and there is a Ripley figure inside powerloader. They are facing each other and simulating the battle from the movie. I haven't been there in some time. They may have moved them. When they first opend they were on 3rd level basically hanging from the ceiling. Hopefully they are still in the same position I descibed first. They are like the main feature of this particular Planet Hollywood.

Scott relays this nifty bit of news: He was browsing through a teletext page here in England, and it contained this piece of news; two french screenwriters called Roger and Lazid Iaichouchene are suing 20th Century Fox claiming that they wrote an 'Alien 4' screenplay which brought Ripley back to life just like in the finished version of Alien Resurrection. They are accusing 20th Century Fox of plagiarism and are suing them to the tune of 300 million francs which is about 27 million pounds (or around 45 million US bucks)
The Hollywood Reporter also verifies this report, claiming the screenplay by the brothers was written way back in 1993, and that they want 15.5 million in damages.
I think in past instances of screenplay plagerism, there has to be some reasonable proof that FOX would have been able to see the brother's screenplay before they started writing it. This is really unlikely, as Joss Whedon wrote Alien Resurrection on his own in 1995 I think. And besides, would they really want to take credit for Alien 4? ;)

Posted at 9:00am I'm back from my trip to Phoenix and Las Vegas. Vegas was quite fun...and I broke even on the slot machines. :) But I missed seeing Alien 3 : The Gun arcade game at the Circus Circus hotel. :) I'll answer emails and update the news shortly.

On Alien Reference I can pass along though: On 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' tv game show last week, one of the "fastest-fingers" questions was "Name these Winona Ryder films, starting with the most recent" (or something like that.) The choices were Heathers, (a film I can't remember), Girl Inturrpted, and Alien Resurrection. :)

    February 18th
okay! I'm off to Phoenix for a week today. I have new fanfiction and references to add when I get back...I hope to be able to check my email (and update the page) in the middle of next week. But for now:

There is an interesting ALIENS surprise in the CD-Rom 'Star Wars : Behind the Magic' game. This Cd-rom thing details the behind-the scenes look at Star Wars and the Special Edition version of the trilogy. So if you have it... Go to the Glossary, enter 'Vince', search for it...and you'll be a neat little programmer-easter-egg...but who cares about that! Look at the background picture, and yes, 'Vince' is in the Powerloader! I wonder where that thing is now... Planet Hollywood? ;)

    February 14th
Finally, some actual news that is ALIEN related....sorta! :)
Filmforce.net reported this info on an upcoming 'Terminator CCG', which will be compatible with existing Aliens & Predator CCg. So you can have ALIENS vs PREDATOR vs TERMINATOR ccg wars! :)

(Yes, news really is slow lately.)

    February 8th
Go to Alienscollection.com, with recent updates including ALIENS oriented Winamp skins, model prop pics, a nice comic link, and even some collectable listing. ;) Great stuff!

    February 2nd
Small update coming a little later today. :)
For now, go to TheForce.net and take a look at their daily poll. Sigourney Weaver (Aliens) is up for an option of "Which actress would make the coolest Jedi." Now, we all know who to vote for... :)

Posted at 11:50pm R."N".J. was surfing at Corona and came on an interesting quote from Jodie Foster giving a brief review about "Hannibal" on E! Television. Foster was talking about reprising her role as Clarice Starling from the 'Silence of the Lambs' movie.
"I haven't made any comments about the book, because the book has nothing to do with whatever film we might make. Harris [the author] is an extraordinary novelist, and this is an extraordinary book, but the sequel has to live up to the characters we made in the first film.
"I really want the sequel to be as good--or almost as good--as the first movie, in the same way Aliens and Aliens are both very fine films."

So Foster has high regards for the first two films as a part 1 and 2 of a series. This quote was supposedly taken sometime around Dec. 22nd of '99. [Thanks to R"N"J!]

    January 27th
Posted at 11:38pm (CORRECTION!) Sigourney Weaver was on the tv program "The View" yesterday. I only saw the last second of it, but they talked about Sigourney's upcoming film 'A Map of the World.' The show basically has several different women discussing women issues, if I remember correctly. It is aired in the US and Canada. [Thanks to Sean E. for helping me on this one. :) ]

It looks like an ALIEN page is going to be on the cover of a WWW magazine cd. As they say:
"Every month we publish a cover CD, which includes the most interesting WWW pages, software and multimedia presentations. We find [...] http://www.members.tripod.com/CORP_HICKS/ [to be a] very interesting and would [like to] include it onto our cover CD."
It appears COLONY LV-426 will be appearing on the offline section of there cover CD.. With all those graphics and schematic drawings so many have come to love. [Great site, check it out!]

Alienscollection.com has a news update with info on a Aliens vs Predator 'Gold' edition. Go to the website for the full story!

New Alien Reference, from the new art film 'Titus' (Anthony Hopkins stars).... it uses some of Goldenthal's Alien 3 music! :) Thanks to Crescent!

Hey Readers! I need your help. I'm really trying to get a job in Phoenix, Arizona for the summer. If any of you have any information, helpful hints, website URLS, job databases...or anything to help me out, please pass along an email to me. I'd appreciate it! I'd even give ya a prize if a hint led to a job! :)

Due to some email problems that were all my fault, I failed to post this news bit earlier. Apparently, Sigourney Weaver was on the Oprah Winfrey show. Damn, I missed it! But here is the rest of the news bit:

Posted at 0:39am Weaver graces the Silver Screen Nude? Yes, it will happen. As Foxfirej2 kindly sends along, at USA Today they have an interview with Weaver, for promotions on 'A Map of the World', her latest film. Now, I get some freaks emailing me asking for nude pictures of Weaver, and I nicely delete those mails. But I guess they don't have to wait for the pics anymore. Here are some clipped interview bits:
A 'Map' of motherhood's naked truths By Kevin V. Johnson, USA TODAY
" CHICAGO - Sigourney Weaver says she hasn't heard anyone joke that she's the real talented Ripley since the Matt Damon-Gwyneth Paltrow movie was released.
But the actress who shot to fame as the gritty space explorer of the same name in the 1979 Alien isn't lacking exposure. She's the sexy Gwen DeMarco in Galaxy Quest. And in A Map of the World (Friday in some cities), based on Jane Hamilton's 1994 best seller, she has her first nude scenes.
The nakedness isn't just skin-deep. Weaver's character, Alice Goodwin, a mother of two, is emotionally stripped when a neighbor child drowns in her pond, then she's accused of sexual abuse as a school nurse.
Map was Oprah's Book Club's December pick. After taping Oprah (airing Tuesday ), Hamilton, 42, and Weaver, 50, are chatting about children.
"As soon as you get pregnant, you are so aware of the responsibility of keeping this child safe and nurtured," Weaver says.
In Map, it's the jailed Alice who needs safe passage back to her family. Alice suggests to the other inmates that Oprah's studio audience decide her guilt or innocence. "I kept trying to write (Winfrey) out of it," Hamilton insists, laughing, but "she kept popping back in." (Winfrey reportedly was flattered by the inclusion.)
And Weaver's nude scenes? To underscore the trust and intimacy between the Goodwins, "I had to disrobe," she says. "I felt it was part of my job playing Alice to do it, good or bad.
"There's a whole undertone in this country about sex and nudity," she says.
"But I always say, well, if that's what it's going to take to have you see the movie, that's fine. I don't care."

[Thanks to foxfirej2 for sending that along!]

Posted at 0:47am A 'Crew bio' and other tidbits of information have been added at The Nostromo Files (or link to it from the 'Alien people' section from the Main Page. This website is really full of information, I give it two thumbs up. :) Good work Darrell!

Posted at 1:02am The latest issue of Cinefex magazine has some nice Alien and ALIENS mentions. This is the 20th anniversary of this great magazine, and one section has special effects big-wigs give their voice on their favorite special effect, effect sequence or film. Here are the relvant parts...:

Dennis Skotak -- "...As you get older, it's hard to duplicate that feeling you had when you were a kid watching movies, but I think the visions of Ridley Scott had in Blade Runner and in ALIEN came close. So in terms of a favorite, it's kind of a toss-up between those two. [Blade Runner]...and the mood in that is very heavey. The same applies to the mood in ALIEN. I just got swept up in it."
[Denis was the visual effects supervisor on ALIENS.]
Walt Conti -- "I think a brilliant achievement in the world of creature effects is the sequence in ALIENS where the queen's nest is revealed. You believed one-hundred percent that you were there with Ripley, immersed in this breeding organism's next. It created a world that didn't exist, and rendered it totally believable through superb execution. It's not a quick cut -- it's a lingering scene. But it was so well done, they could have shot that scene for five minutes and it wouldn't have fallen apart."
[Walt is a special effects guru.]
John Knoll -- "My pick for favorite effects sequence is the confrontation scene between Ripley in the power loader and the Queen alien from ALIENS. I thought it was a very skillfully done mixture of full-size practical gags, animatronics, miniatures and puppets. All of the different techniques were bueatifully blended. I also thought it was a very exciting sequence. I recall walking out of the theater thinking, "Wow, that was really cool!"
[John Knoll is a special effects supervisor, and can draw really well too.]

Ack! I managed to miss the Sigourney Weaver 1986 appearance on Saturday Night Live by one day. D'oh! It is being repeated on the Comedy Network channel in Canada. (Comedy Central airs the old ones in the U.S.)

Michael K. reports that on January 13th Sigourney Weaver appeared on Entertianment Tonight. She was promoting her current movie, 'Galaxy Quest.' Of course Alien was mentioned. She said she felt relieved to be able to sit at the controls of a spaceship console and act as if she didnt know what to do. She also commented on an alternate reason for doing the film and that reason is so she finally has a film she is in that she can watch with her daughter without being frightend. Her next movie is going to be a comedy too.

The "Aliens: Ride at the Speed of Fright" IWERKS Simulator ride!
Ever been to the IWERKS website? As Foxfirej2 reports.."Iwerks makes motion simulator rides for amusement parks, as well as releasing their rides at State Fairs,etc... Anyway, at the website, they have a page that had information on the IWERKS ride "Aliens: Ride at the Speed of Fright"." Click Here to go to it!
The page also has a short Quicktime Video clip of the ride, giving visitors to the site a feel as to what the ride is like. The entire ride is really kinda short....only 4 minutes long. The ride has a 5 minute "pre-show" which sets up the film for you. IWERKS denotes this film as one of it's "A-List" titles. This is their definention of A-List titles: "Titles denote the highest-quality Hollywood-style film products available with lots of stunts and special-effects, and often involve the licensing of a branded title. A titles are mini-stories, and all include pre-shows."
At the website you can also check out likely spots on where YOU can enjoy the ride. [Big thanks to FoxFirej2! :)

Most commonly asked questions: "Where can I get the ALIEN 3 pre-release" and any question to do with Aliens vs Predator. :) Speaking of which....

On the TBS Superstation Saturday, they aired Predator 2, which starred Bill Paxton (Hudson in ALIENS) as Jerry Lambert, a smooth talking police detective. :)

Can David Fincher, the acclaimed director of Alien 3, be moving back into the Sci-fi Genre? Maybe so! Surf on over to Cinescape for the full scoop. Apparently, Fincher will Co-produce "Passengers" with Michael London. The premise of the story is at Cinescape, but it is basically an alien-takes-over-human, human-acts-out-repressed-feelings, hell breaks loose. Also of note is that the story was adapted by Greg Pruss, who also worked on a rejected script for ALIEN 3!

PrincDimnd passed along some info regarding the ALIEN Resurrection game:
"I just thought I'd let you know that adds are appearing in magazines for the long awaited Alien Ressurection video game. The latest Electronic Gaming Monthly showed a small picture of the game's cover on one page of new releases, and it says that the release is supposed to be this month."
Great news! Thanks PrincDimnd! (Now everyone start scanning the adverts! :)

Posted at 11:00am Ridley Scott comments on ALIEN in the latest Cinescape magazine. "It was all filmed in London" was one comment, and he mentioned another bit of how filming changes with experience. The best news of all was that he was working on a directors cut of his Sci-fi classic Blade Runner with 8 more minutes stuck in.

Sigourney Weaver has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in 'A Map of the World.' Congrats Sigourney! Also, a picture in my local paper had A very Blonde (Galaxy Quest) Weaver smiling beside an ALIEN head prop...likely on some guy. Cool picture, check your papers for it!

ALIEN War Zone re-opens? Models for sale? All that and more at Alienscollection.com.

I was looking for the 'ALIENS O'Fortuna' video clip a while back. The classical music and the video of Aliens...great stuff! You can get it now at Legend.

Posted at 10:00am New ALIEN Reference, from the Family Guy (thanks hicks), and All My Children (thanks St Just!) :)

Here is an excellent new page focusing on the NOSTROMO, the ship in the first ALIEN movie. You want info? This site has it! Thanks to Darrel and The Nostromo Files

    Alien Resurrection Release Date Confirmed!!!
    Ivan explains:
I Just got a reply from the Video Game Connection site. They told me that words from Fox Interactive said that the release date of the "Alien Resurrection" game will finally be this April. Now, they are not sure about what day of the month it will be but April will be the month. Ads for the game should start surging in magazines everywhere as early as late March. They also reports that testing for the game will conclude as late as mid-to-late January. They are so proud of the results that TV ads for the game would also be likely when the game is out. A huge marketing campaign will start at the begining of April as well. Is this true or false? We will have to find out once Fox Interactive updates their site. [Big thanks to Ivan!]

Nine Inch Nails: "The Perfect Drug" (Alien Resurrection Edition) now online!
FoxFireJ2 has sent in a great new video edit of ALIEN Resurrection, set to the video & music of Nine Inch Nail's 1997 release 'The Perfect Drug.' The concept was that the song fit the movie, so why not re-edit the video and put in clips of Alien resurrection? And it worked nicely! You can check out the 11meg file by Clicking Here! Thanks FoxFireJ2!
