Aliens Resurrection
Every movie has segments that hit the cutting room floor during the editing process. In the case of the Alien
series, the cut-scenes range from substantial story and plot elements, to small atmospheric shots. This area
will detail the different cut-scenes from the Alien films.

Alien
There are 3 main versions of Alien:
1) - The Theatrical release. (1979) 117 minutes.
2) - The Laserdisc release. (1992)
3) - The Directors Cut (Special Edition). (2003) 116 minutes.
The laserdisc release included cut-scenes, but these edits were not integrated into the film. The Director's
cut was re-edited by Ridley Scott, and includes numerous tweeks and modifications.

Aliens
There are 2 main versions of Aliens:
1) - The Theatrical release. (1986) 137 minutes.
2) - The Special Edition release. (1992) 154 minutes.
The Special edition includes various additional scenes that were edited out of the theatrical version.
In addition to the above, the CBS TV release in the late 80's included a few of the cut scenes intact
(Sentry gun storyline, Ripley's Daughter...)

Alien 3
There are 3 different versions of Alien 3:
1) - The Theatrical release. (1992) 114 minutes.
2) - The Pre-release (Workprint/bootleg release, pre-1992) ~140 minutes.
3) - The Special Edition / Assembly Cut release. (2003) 145 minutes.
The Special edition includes various additional scenes that were edited out of the theatrical version.
The Workprint includes the majority of the Special Edition release, however, there are some scenes that
are only in the Workprint, and others that are just in the Special Edition.

Alien Resurrection
There are 2 main versions of Alien Resurrection:
1) - The Theatrical release. (1997) 109 minutes.
2) - The Special Edition. (2003) 116 minutes.
The Special edition includes alternate opening and closing scenes, as well as additional dialogue.
